Both Atalanta and Como were held to 1-1 draws in Serie A last time out as they prepare to face off against each other at the Gewiss Stadium on Saturday night.
Indeed, Atalanta earned a respectable point in Turin away at Juventus, while Como were held at home by newly-promoted Cremonese, who have been a surprise package in the league so far this season.
Atalanta followed their result up with a 2-1 win against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) in Bergamo, a victory that felt extra special as the Belgians knocked them out of the competition in the knockout play-offs last season. Como are not playing in any European competition, but their owners will no doubt have ambitions to in the near future under head coach Cesc Fabregas.
Nonetheless, Atalanta remain unbeaten on home soil this season, winning their last two matches at the Gewiss Stadium in all competitions. However, Como won last time out on their travels, beating Fiorentina 2-1, and so will be tough to beat.
Interestingly, in both league fixtures last campaign, the away side won. This should give Como further encouragement, even if the odds are stacked against them.
How the bookies view it: Atalanta favourites
Boylesports have installed Atalanta as the 21/20 favourites to win, while Como can be backed at 21/10. Given their close proximity in the table, with the hosts just one point and two places above the visitors, the draw appeals to us at 23/10.
Recent head-to-head: Atalanta win away from home
These two sides last met in January, where Atalanta won 2-1 on their travels in Serie A. Mateo Retegui scored a brace for the visitors, but was sold to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadisiya this summer.
Nico Paz was on the scoresheet for Como, and he was also on target against Cremonese last time out.
Players to watch: Pasalic and Paz on point
Mario Pasalic scored the late winner for Atalanta against Brugge in midweek, and no doubt poses a threat to Como.
As mentioned previously, Paz scored in the previous H2H and against Cremonese last weekend. He is 5/2 with Boylesports to score anytime in Bergamo, which we feel could be worth a punt.
Predicted lineups
Marten de Roon is suspended for Atalanta due to receiving a red card in his last league outing. Odilon Kossounou, Raoul Bellanova, Giorgio Scalvini, Nicola Zalewski, Gianluca Scamacca, Sead Kolasinac and Mitchel Bakker are all out with injury.
Como also have suspensions to deal with in the form of Jesus Rodriguez and manager Fabregas. Alberto Dossena and Sergi Roberto are out injured, while Ignace Van Der Brempt and Assane Diao are also doubtful for the visitors.
Atalanta: Carnesecchi, Honest, Djimsiti, Bernasconi, Kossounou, Bellanova, Ederson, de Roon, Pasalic, Lookman, Krstovic.
Como: Butez, Da Cunha, Carlos, Posch, Ramon, Valle, Paz, Perrone, Kuhn, Douvikas, Caqueret.
Anything else catch the eye?
Both teams took the lead at HT before being pegged back in the second half in their previous league outings. Boylesports are offering a price boost of 10/3 for Both Teams To Score (BTTS) in the first half, which we think could also be worth a bet.
