Arsenal and AC Milan will face off against each other in their first pre-season friendlies in preparation for the new 2025/26 campaign.
Arsenal come into this clash on the back of finishing in second place in the Premier League for a third successive season, and will be desperate to go one better at the risk of going yet another campaign under Mikel Arteta without any major silverware. They were unbeaten in their last three games of the season, winning their last two to secure the runners-up spot.
Milan did secure silverware by winning the Supercoppa Italiana, but finished in a disappointing eighth place in Serie A, meaning that they have no European football to contend with this season. As such, the Rossoneri acted by appointing Max Allegri to try and turn their fortunes around, with the Italian incidentally previously linked with the Arsenal job.
In terms of recent H2Hs, Arsenal have been on top by winning each of the previous three meetings, and will be aiming to make it four in a row here. Still, it promises to be an exciting clash between two of the traditional big names in world football at the National Stadium in Singapore at Wednesday lunchtime.
How the bookies view it: Arsenal assigned as favourites
Arsenal have been installed as 8/11 favourites with BoyleSports to win this one. A draw has been priced at 5/2 odds with the same bookmaker, while a Milan victory can be backed at 12/5 odds.
Recent head-to-head: Welbeck brace inspires Arsenal win
A brace from former striker Danny Welbeck inspired Arsenal to a 3-1 win in 2018. Another ex-Gunner Granit Xhaka also got himself on the scoresheet, while now Inter Milan player Hakan Calhanoglu grabbed a consolation goal for the Rossoneri.
Players to watch: Zubimendi debut awaits
New signing from Real Sociedad Martin Zubimendi should make his debut for Arsenal, and the Spain international midfielder will want to show why the Gunners reportedly paid over £50m for his services.
Rafael Leao has been linked with a potential move to Arsenal in recent transfer windows, and the Portuguese winger is undoubtedly the star of the Milan team.
Predicted lineups
While Zubimendi should start, another new signing Noni Madueke has been left out of the squad by Arsenal following his involvement at the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) with Chelsea.
Likewise, Milan could also give a debut to a summer signing in Samuele Ricci, but Luka Modric will have to wait for his after playing for Real Madrid at the CWC.
Arsenal: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Rice;, Saka, Havertz, Martinelli
AC Milan: Maignan, Jimenez, Gabbia, Thiaw, Bartesaghi, Musah, Ricci, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Okafor, Leao
Anything else catch the eye?
Arsenal conceded the fewest goals in each of the previous two Premier League seasons, so keeping clean sheets is not new them. Going against Both Teams To Score (BTTS) at 11/10 odds with BoyleSports could contribute to a fairly comfortable Gunners victory.
However, Arsenal were also rather toothless in front of goal towards the end of last season, scoring just two or fewer goals in each of their last seven games in all competitions. An Arsenal win and Under 2.5 total goals combo is at 7/2 odds with BoyleSports.
Just like in two of the previous three H2Hs, the Gunners can also be backed to be winning at HT at 11/8 odds with the same bookmaker.
