Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois

Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois renew their rivalry on Saturday night when they meet in their highly-anticipated rematch at Wembley Stadium.

Usyk will be defending his WBA, WBC and WBO belts and Dubois putting his IBF title on the line as the pair look to become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

This London showdown follows their first bout that took place in Poland nearly two years ago, Usyk coming through in controversial fashion in a fight that is still spoken about to this day

Usyk vs. Dubois: Repeat or revenge?

When Usyk and Dubois met in Wroclaw back in August 2023, Usyk was the overwhelming favourite to defeat a version of Dubois that had already lost to Joe Joyce and been dropped three times against Kevin Lerena before defying a knee injury to stop the South African.

Dubois was second best for the large majority of a fight where he was stopped in the ninth round, yet the main talking point was the Briton flooring Usyk with a borderline low blow, the champion making full use of the five-minute recovery period.

There are images that suggest the punch was illegal, others less so, but it adds a narrative to the rematch with Usyk having never been seen in such discomfort in a boxing ring.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois Tale of Tape

Can Dubois drop Usyk?

The big question ahead of this showpiece fight is whether Dubois can legitimately drop the two-weight and two-time undisputed champion, his confidence sky high from his brutal knockout of Anthony Joshua.

Since losing to Usyk, Dubois has stopped Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and his British rival, ridding himself of the tag of someone who cannot go into deep waters and come out on top.

All but one of Dubois' 22 wins have come by knockout, the 27-year-old having never gone past 10 rounds in his professional career, whereas the only time that Usyk has posted a stoppage in his last six fights is against Dubois.

Boylesports pricing Usyk at 2/7 feels too low with little value, while there will be plenty of takers for Dubois at betting odds of around 2/1.

However, it make take multiple knockdowns for Dubois to beat a master boxer such as Usyk on points, therefore Dubois at 10/3 to win by KO, TKO or disqualification may be far more worthwhile.

Usyk to get knocked down and still win the fight at 14/1 should also appeal. It would be a jaw-dropping moment if Dubois can floor Usyk, but this is a different Dubois from two years ago.

Best undercard picks

Unlike most Wembley nights, the undercard is not going to catch the eye aside from Lawrence Okolie squaring off against Kevin Lerena.

As mentioned, Lerena dropped Dubois three times in London back in December 2022, while he gave a solid account of himself against Justis Huni – who was on the brink of winning the WBA regular title before a miracle knockout from Fabio Wardley in June – in March last year.

Okolie to put himself into title contention

However, while this is just the second fight for Okolie at heavyweight, there will be a considerable size advantage in the Briton's favour, and a stoppage win at 21/20 looks far too appealing to turn down.

Lewis Edmondson gets his shot on the big stage as reward for beating Dan Azeez last year, but the Commonwealth light-heavyweight champion is a 10/3 underdog against undefeated Daniel Lapin, a 6ft 6in southpaw who may be good value to win in rounds 7-8 at 9/1 or rounds 9-10 at 10/1.

Top three bets of the night

Usyk to get knocked down and win – 14/1

Okolie to win by stoppage – 21/20

Lapin to win in rounds 9-10 – 10/1
