In rugby Bath crashed 21-19 to Toulouse in the Champions Cup and still to come it's Scarlets v Leicester live on Sky at 7.45pm.

First of all UFC 179 takes place tonight in Rio, Brazil with the main event seeing Jose Aldo face Chad Mendes for the featherweight title for the second time in their careers. It’s been two and a half years since they last fought, which saw Aldo knock Chad Mendes out with one of the most sadistic knees to the face I have ever seen. Aldo has not been beaten for 6 years but many are tipping Mendes to take the title. Fair enough Mendes has looked good in getting another title shot, but the opponents he’s faced along the way are nothing compared to the last three opponents Aldo has beaten. Obviously being the champion you fight the number 1 contender each time. Picking out a winner is quite difficult but Aldo is just a whole different challenge and it would be fair to say he’s better than when Mendes last faced him. If I was going for anything it would be Fight To Go The Distance NO @ 4/6 (this is not a tip).
Co main event see’s Texieira face Phil Davis but I’m always weary of old fighters coming off of losses (Teixeira) as you tend to wonder if they have the drive for it anymore. Teixeira at 34 was the number one contender and is coming off a points decision loss to the champion Jon Jones. Phil Davis is 4 years younger than Teixeira and a very similar fighter to Jones so a win could force himself up the rankings and maybe force himself into a number 1 contenders spot. Again not a tip but I’m having a small lay on Davis @ 5/2.
Onto the NFL. Don’t like to ramble on about NFL tips as I’m not overly familiar with all the terms and sish yet but I’ve had some decent winners since I’ve started following. Happy to say my picks are very much along the same lines as DeAndre and the chief.

I said earlier I was waiting for some markets to be priced up and now they have. I like Lions WR Golden Tate to cover his total yards which is set at 69.5yds 10/11 Skybet. If Megatron plays it could make it better for Tate to cover, as he surely wont be at full pace, and he wont draw the same coverage as Johnson.
As for Atlanta I have already stated Matt Ryan could be in for a tough game, his O line is decimated by injuries, and the Lions D, will get to him, however he maybe able to hook up with star WR Julio Jones for a score, and that is 1/1 at William Hill.

Anyone who followed my MVG tip to win the European Championship on Thursday as an easy cover in the final on Jenkins. MVG hit a 9 darter against Barney in the semi final.
Pittsburgh at home are a funny side, lose when they win and win when you think they may lose. Houston had them on toast last week, and they came back to win.

I did like him at the start of his resurgence with great fast pace and the showing of emotion and all but these days he’s taking it too far with barely a leg going past with him fist pumping and shouting. Ryan, I kind of like the guys showing emotion and giving it a bit on stage, especially if they can back it up. The crowd at a PDC event are loud and noisy so it is more of an event. I prefer that to watching the BDO at Lakeside, where to be honest I find boring. I am new skool darts, but I know a lot find the new darts fans more like a football crowd.
