THE SPFL returns with Ross County v Aberdeen tonight and Greg Browning's tipped an away win. I see where he's coming from but I'd prefer to back both to score – let's hope we're both correct.

Scottish bookmakers McBookie.com are offering 30-1 both Mark McGhee and Mixu Paatelinen can make winning starts with their new clubs. It is 9-2 both can at least avoid defeat.

Both clubs are in the bottom half of the table and the firm is offering 4-1 Motherwell can end in the top six or 5-1 Dundee Utd can. Motherwell are 10-1 to finish bottom with Dundee Utd 11-4.

Paul Petrie, McBookie.com spokesman, said: “Both managers have received a mixed reaction on their appointment and need to make a good impression quickly.”

Meanwhile, William Hill's Owen Scott has done his usual research to come up with stats relevant to this weekend's fixtures. Remember these are not tips.

With Wallave to score first or last at 7/1, let’s say you’re staking £20 for a return of £160 would you not be better just to back him £10 each first and last goal at 14/1 for a return of £150. It’s only £10 less of a return and there’s the possibly he could score first and last for a return of £300
