snookerballs

RIGHT on cue the UK Championship snooker gets under way in York on Tuesday with the big names forced to slum it with the underdogs in the opening round of 128.

Several stars are unhappy at the format of the tournament, especially as there's no prize money if you fall at the first hurdle. So the price of failure is high even this early and the likes of former world champ Peter Ebdon and ex-UK title winner Graeme Dott are among the stellar names looking to avoid a shock today.

The American sporting action features five NBA games, including Western Pacific leaders Golden State Warriors – currently priced 5-4 to win the division – looking to rack up a sixth straight win when they visit Miami Heat.

There's also NHL matches and college football while in Asia the ITF Tour tennis bandwagon rolls on.

Good luck if you're having a bet and post all your sporting tips and thoughts here.

I’d take the Wizards on the spread but I know how NBA can be. I’m only betting because there’s no football or NFL and have had a very good evening :D

Laurentiu, I’m on your 4 fold to get me through the work day in Australia. Never bet basketball before but as there is no footbal thought id give it a go! Cheers guys.

Hahahaha imagine an interview like this on match of the day! LOVE THE NFL! http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:11938656

haha, good stuff Mr Sherman. really would like a bit more scope for people to say what they think in the premier league.

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Yeah big time Ad. Players almost seem like they’re robots on the job in interviews. I don’t mean everybody to be like Joey Barton, but Jimmy Bullard for instance. Leg end!

GS Warriors over 26.5 points in the 3rd quarter 5/6

  14. Jordan 9 years ago

Right lads lets just f**k NBA off. We’d have better luck predicting the lottery every weekend :)

  15. Attila 9 years ago

Wizards have caved… So much for NBA betting. :-P

  16. Alty Adam 9 years ago

Jordan, i’ve found it much better to bet in-play on NBA especially before the start of each quarter

  17. Alty Adam 9 years ago

GS Warriors over 26.5 points in the 3rd quarter 5/6

    *WIN*

  18. Attila 9 years ago

Maybe I spoke too soon. Just need a 3 pointer to get within the +1.5 handicap to keep the 4 fold alive

  19. Jordan 9 years ago

Yeah I’m just not going to bother anymore mate.

  20. Attila 9 years ago

NBA is pants…was worth a try tho! Thanks for the tips anyways guys.

grrrr nba hav grabbed me by the balls and squeezed them hard. gonna wait for nfl lads

  22. huggybear 9 years ago

    bucks -3.5 cover that easy

    5/6 WINNER !!!! 5 FROM 5

  23. Gotti 9 years ago

Nba really isn’t that unpredictable I have more success on the nba then I do the nfl. Key is just knowing what teams are missing what players and don’t bother with any double digit – spreads. Go for trebles and small stakes, it’s no where near as unpredictable as the footy lads.

  24. Gotti 9 years ago

All of my late night profit is pre match nba bets and I never bet in play as in play on the nba can be a nightmare.

  25. Alty Adam 9 years ago

Gotti, sometimes the bookies over or under estimate a team so if you pick the right team you can get some way-out totals in-play on the quarter line. I usually wait until half time and match up the 3rd quarter points prediction with the previous 2 quarters. Just like when they had GS team total of 26.5 in the 3rd when they’ve scored 30 and 31 in the 1st and 2nd quarter

And i thought the wizards were the safest of my selections…. lol
