IF Concord Rangers played in the SPFL would they be called the Flying Scotsman? Of course they wouldn't. The Conference South team aren't named after the ill-fated jet but instead a beach near their Canvey Island base.
Concord will be unknown to most as this is the first time they've qualified for the FA Cup and they host Mansfield in a replay after a creditable 1-1 draw.
It's a big night for Rangers who are trying to emulate the likes of Aldershot and Maidenhead who were well backed and successfully beat league opponents.
Concord are a best 3-1 with the likes of bet365 and I'd have considered it if Mansfield hadn't sacked their manager last week. Caretaker boss Adam Murray took over and guided his side to an impressive 1-0 win against Plymouth.
Mansfield are better than their league positions suggests and should be able to get the job done tonight. However, Murray will be forced to change a winning team.
Loan players Keiron Freeman and Vadaine Oliver, who hit the goal against Plymouth, have been refused permission to play Luke Waterfall and Jamie Sendles-White are eligible.
If Concord rise to the occasion this will be close but I expect rejuvenated Mansfield to come through and they are a best 20-21 at boylesports.
There is a League One game with MK Dons facing Rochdale and I was surprised to hear boss Karl Robinson plans a few changes.
He will be without banned Kyle McFadzean and injured George Baldock and is set to recall Danny Green, Dean Bowditch and Will Grigg – all on the bench against Vale – could be poised for recalls.
Rochdale striker Ian Henderson is available after a ban but midfielders Matty Done (suspended) and Peter Vincenti (knee injury) are out.
MK Dons have won three in a row and assuming the changes are being made to freshen up the side I'll be on them at 17-20 with William Hill against a side who have lost two in a row in the league.
Oldham will be without Jabo Ibehre and Daniel Johnson for their JP Trophy quarter-final at home to League One rivals Preston.
Brian Wilson and Genseric Kusunga are expected to be rested against a side who could give striker Jermaine Beckford his debut after he joined on loan from Bolton until January.
High-flying Preston dumped leaders Bristol City at the weekend and with promotion the priority boss Simon Grayson is expected to make more changes and this as usual is a tough one to call.
If he starts Beckford could be worth a look at 13-2 with boylesports as he looks to kickstart his career.
I'm not a big fan of midweek Conference betting but best bets look to be Macclesfield at home to Torquay, Braintree at home to Welling and both teams to score at Kidderminster v Welling.
Recommended Bets
Mansfield
(20-21, boylesports)
MK Dons
(17-20, William Hill)
Beckford to score first
(13-2, boylesports)
Macclesfield v Torquay United
Macclesfield are unbeaten at home this season and have scored in all but one game. Torquay started the season as one of the favourites but things haven’t went to plan. But they have started to find a bit of form recently and have scored 8 goals in their past 3 games resulting in a win and 2 draws against top 5 sides (including a 3-2 away win to league leaders Barnet).
Both teams to score at 4/6…Mmm
I went for Beckford as well Paul. Did you do the read-up in the local Preston rag?
Sport Tipster, no I didn’t read the Preston paper. He’ll be looking to make his mark though.
I think many will disagree with these but please at least wait until final whistle before writing it off:
