JOHNB drew a blank on Thursday so it was three points lost and November is now a 0.13pt profit.

Well done all who put up winners on the thread and our man is hoping for a fantastic Friday.

I looked for a cheltenham entry or another target? as its a lightly raced ?, past rating 162(i think mc coy broke him haha). Good luck tomorrow, on what seems tricky cards?

Ps hate to post against folk too but todays a tough one…i think?

    • the don cossack 3 years ago

You shouldn’t recoba, it’s helpful to give the truth(even our own versions) ,not siding or jumping onto someone elses winning ship.
For those that can choose their own bets? Your reason recoba , makes no differance! Its not helpful…..form is temporary.
For those copying tips because they dont know owt? Your helpful recoba ! Like yesterday you said, you didnt fancy a fav that someone had napped. And it lost and didnt run up to the 14 pound it soppusidly had in hand.(i dont know my flat races below grade 1)

Thier is that much info and people to trust in this game. That fence sitting just gives you a sore arse. Lol
And makes follower’s poorer still. even if its just info not cash.
Imagine you tip a 25t1 ,and jimron and alamn post the 1t2 fav (example say)and it was only racing due to an unknown reason. And after you find out lady and lord wanted a day out.
My piont is, knowone really knows

  34. the don cossack 3 years ago

I’d like to try and promote more reasoning for tips.
Unless your dougie or alamn/jimron. Even ew thief. Who proves its no fluke picking huge prices.
Especially when others post in same race.
The 3.50 is a great example today. Hot race ! but bigger odds.

u seem to have missed my name from the elite list don ?

    • rale 3 years ago

Totally agree mate. Short reasoning, nothing fancy would be more than welcome. If you like a shortie it is probably not necessary, but for bigger odds, few words would be nice.
Today I saved myself bit of money by not following JB’s nap. Can’t follow 16/1 shot without a single word of reasoning, regardless of who is posting it. With my limited knowledge I couldn’t see anything that justified that horse being best bet of the day and with no reasoning to tell me otherwise, I left it alone.

      • the don cossack 3 years ago

        I,i rale.

Just put a post on the new forum for tomorrow’s big race the Betfair Chase at Haydock.

  37. recoba 3 years ago

Thanks don Cossack…i think? You saying I shouldn’t say don’t ask about changing my mind(flip flop) or just make my mind up then post with reasoning if I have it? I usually do bar a gut feeling but it would only sound like a copy and paste from a racing post etc. Also I wouldn’t like to get above my station but the amount of times I didn’t post on the old site due to no conviction(or confidence)then my picks would land was a pisser! All good either way don and ill keep posting and hopefully contributing, its all good lads and keep up the chat and patter IF we can squeeze that in to ?

    • the don cossack 3 years ago

      Yes ment complinmentry recoba.
I wouldn’t want to criticize anything on this site or anyone, learned so much ,in such a short time(am sure we have some 40+older wise heads in this group) and even getting english lessens from rj haha

Shopping done, coffee and sticky bun…the don Cossack, you are probably right and we should especially with a nap post some reasoning on the forum..Today with Ellison and Bihan,I was drawn to the fact that he had Johnson up Your pick, certainly last run in a listed race catches the eye,but the price was the thing for me..Henderson will likely mug the two of us having won the race 3 times in the past few years.GL

Saturday’s tip, 12.40 haddock emporers choice. Currently 9/2. A horse I’ve followed for a few years, had a big win off the back of it in 2012 however it didn’t win again until last out so ended up being quiet expensive! Only reason I’m sticking with it is it loves a slog and boy is it raining in Liverpool! Just driven back from their this evening so I’m expecting ground to be very soft tommorow

  64. Johnb 3 years ago

    3 points lost today
    November 2.87 point loss

Nap wasn’t too good and no excuses but thought the NB Waneen was unlucky having to put the breaks on at a crucial stage when the rest we’re quickening, one to watch for

    Saturday’s Tips

Red Hanrahan 2/1 NAP/NB paddy power (double stake)

    Smart Talk 3/1 paddy power

Red Hanrahan & Smart Talk 11/1 paddy power

My advice is to get on these two horses quick as I think the bookies have massively overpriced both of them
I think both should have been 5/4 or less

There wasn’t a lot between both these horses and either of them could have been double stake joint NAP/NB’s

  65. double carpet 3 years ago

  77. Johnb 3 years ago

    Red Hanrahan
Anyone who watched his debut at Wincanton must have been impressed,
Yes he fell but that was because he jumped too well & over jumped the hurdle otherwise he would have won really easy,
Red Hanrahan was 9/4 second favourite that day and running against 8/11 favourite Royal Vacation,

What was impressive that day is Royal Vacation was rated 130 & Red Hanrahan was at least 3 lengths clear, cruising with the jockey sat motionless

On Saturday not all these horses have a rating yet but the top rated is only 126
Nothing in the race looks too special except Red Hanrahan, so when you see what he was doing to a 130 rated hurdler it makes you wonder just how good he is.
He has also had two runs in point to points when falling on debut when 5/2 & winning the other by 12 lengths

Connections have always thought highly of him and the man who bought him at the sales Tom Malone was convinced he got Red Hanrahan too cheap although the price was £150,000 and that is some price

This was Tom Malone’s comment after the purchase
A four-year-old son of Yeats, Red Hanrahan arrived at Cheltenham with a big reputation, having won his point-to-point by 12 lengths and Malone was surprised at the price.

“I’m delighted to have got him and he’s for a new client to stay in Britain,” said Malone. “That was the lowest price I expected to pay for the horse and I hope he could end up being good value as he came highly recommended.

“Although there were only six runners in the point-to-point he won, he was hugely impressive and quickened really well to put the race to bed. He’s exciting.”

  78. Johnb 3 years ago

That should have said Red Hanrahan ran at Wetherby last time NOT Wincanton

  79. alanm 3 years ago
