In this article, we bring you the next Coventry manager odds after the departure of manager Mark Robins from the EFL Championship side.
After a ninth-place finish in the division and a run to the FA Cup semi-final in the 2023/24 campaign, the Sky Blues were expected to kick on this season, but have been left languishing in 17th spot in the table after 14 games, sitting on a measly 15 points and outside of the dreaded relegation zone only on goal difference.
As such, the board at Coventry City decided to relieve Robins of his duties earlier today, with Rhys Carr taking interim charge of the team until a new head coach is appointed. The decision has not been taken well by some of the fanbase, given that Robins had credit in the back for his achievements last season.
Robins has also accrued praise for his development of several key players past and present, like now-Sporting CP superstar Viktor Gyokeres, who was as little as little as 12/1 to finish as this year's UEFA Champions League (UCL) top scorer in the aftermath of his stunning recent hat-trick against Manchester City.
Nonetheless, there are a few notable names that could take over from Robins at the Coventry Building Society Arena, according to the latest bookies' odds…

Selections to watch
Matt Bloomfield
Current Wycombe Wanderers manager Matt Bloomfield is the favourite to take over from Robins on a permanent basis, after reports from The Guardian emerged that Coventry are interested in hiring the 40-year-old and he is one of the leading contenders, having built a reputation as one of the most exciting young managers in the English Football League (EFL).
Indeed, Bloomfield has guided Wycombe to the top of the League One table with 29 points gained from their opening 13 games. That sees them above clubs with much bigger financial resources, namely Birmingham City and Wrexham, who sit in second and third place respectively.
The Chairboys have scored the most goals in the division by far (31), and his free-flowing attacking style of play would certainly appeal to Coventry and their fans.
Frank Lampard
Certainly the biggest name among the favourites for the job is English football legend Frank Lampard. The 46-year-old is currently out of work at this moment in time, so would likely be easier to poach than someone like Robins.
Of course, Lampard has the experience of managing in the Championship before with Derby County, and his success with the Rams allowed him to take on much bigger jobs like at Chelsea and Everton. His 1.63 points-per-game (PPG) ratio at Derby is the second-highest of his managerial career to date, as he almost got them promoted to the Premier League in his debut campaign of 2018/19, narrowly losing out 2-1 to Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
Steven Schumacher
Steven Schumacher is also out of a job having left his position as head coach of Stoke City earlier on in the season. He boasts plenty of managerial experience in the Championship, at Plymouth Argyle as well as with Stoke.
Schumacher helped Plymouth gain promotion as the champions of League One to the Championship at the end of the 2022/23 season, and had a steady start to the 2023/24 campaign before being poached by Stoke in December of last year. Unfortunately, his PPG of 1.41 with the Potters was nowhere near as high as the 1.83 that he achieved with the Pilgrims, and so the 40-year-old was relieved of his duties.
