Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

Time to switch from clay to grass! The Stuttgart Open ATP 250 kicks off on June 10, and the Round of 32 features a number of interesting lineups including Britain’s Andy Murray back in action.

The former world No. 1 will square off against Marcos Giron in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday, June 11. Read on for our Murray vs Giron prediction and betting tips.

Andy Murray, 37, just made what could be his final French Open appearance.

He's hinted about his tennis career winding down after this summer. The two-time Wimbledon champion has had a disappointing season, playing only two tournaments since Miami and losing in the first round of the French Open to Stan Wawrinka.

Marcus Giron also hasn’t had a very good season. His last appearance was in the first round of the French Open as well, where he lost to Jozef Kovalik in four sets. He has an 11-13 win-loss record this season with no title to his name.

How the Bookies View It: Murray to Win

Bookmaker bet365 is favouring veteran Murray to win this encounter, making him the favourite at 11/20. On the other hand, Giron is sitting at 6/4 to win. Set betting suggests a 2-0 victory for Murray, with this result paying 6/4.

Recent Head-to-Head: Nothing to See Here

The Stuttgart Open first round is going to be the first time Murray and Giron stand against each other.

Anything Else Catch the Eye?

Murray has been plagued by injuries for a long time now.

He got a few excellent wins in Doha, Dubai, Indian Wells, and Miami. Then the former world number one tore an ankle ligament against Tomas Machac. The injury sidelined him for two months. Since then, he has played one Challenger and one ATP 250, winning one match and losing the other two.

Despite some struggles in recent years, Murray is eager to snag as many titles as possible before he wraps up his tennis career.

With a 5-9 win-loss record this season and a 61 percent break-point save rate, he's now recovered from his injuries and is ready for some solid on-court action. We can look forward to an exciting match between Murray and Giron.

Marcos Giron has yet to make it to a grass court final in either the ATP or lower tours.

Currently ranked No. 50, his last noteworthy performance was at the Dallas Open, where he reached the finals but lost to Tommy Paul. In the previous Stuttgart Open, Giron didn't make it past the Round of 32, losing to Jiri Lehecka.

The winner of this encounter will go up against Jack Draper or Sebastian Ofner in the next round.

Murray vs Giron Betting Tips & Prediction

This is going to be an interesting encounter as Murray and Giron face off for the first time.

Murray may be on the verge of retiring, but the fact doesn't change that he has been one of the top players in the game. His statistics are still strong compared to those of the 30-year-old Giron. We predict Murray to win this match.

  • Murray to win 2-0 @ 6/4
  • Total games under 23.5 @ 4/5

Murray and Giron will play on Tuesday, June 11, not before 1:30pm local time.
