AFTER a sorry Saturday it was a Super Sunday … and how may times have I said that.

In fact it could have been a stupendous Sunday if Augsburg hadn't conceded an injury-time equaliser.

That beat my Super Single although as Greg said over our fifth pint anyone who didn't cover was an idiot. If I'd been around I'd have advised it but you should know what to do by now.

My two trebles were winners though – the both to score treble paying 9-2 and the Top Treble 3-1. The Betting Club bet and members bet also won so it was pretty good day – although having spent the night bevvying with Greg, Scott Allot and Thommo I can't remember much about it.

Tonight Reading tackle Cardiff in the Championship, Lazio face Torino in Serie A and Espanyol entertain Girona in La Liga. Not easy games to call and maybe all three could see both scoring.

Reading's form has improved with one defeat in seven while Cardiff have won four in a row. The last four meetings at the Madjeski have saw both sides score and another returns 42-41 at 188Bet.

Lazio look a little short at a best 4-7 with Paddy Power. They've lost in nine in Serie A (to Roma) and netted 11 in their last four home games against Torino.

The Turin men though have drawn their last four in the league including visits to Inter and Milan so are tough to beat these days and again best bets could be Lazio to score 2+ or over 2.5 match goals.

Espanyol have conceded seven in three games while four of Girona's last five has seen both scoring and that pays 15-16 with Unibet.

Braga are in good form scoring nine goals in three wins against Pacos Ferreira, Feirense and Hoffenheim and are 5-4 at Unibet to win away to Maritimo. However, their hosts are unbeaten at home this season with five wins and two draws and just two goals conceded.

I said earlier it was going to be a no-bet day. I'm nothing if not indecisive though so after a walk with the dug down to Hills and a look at their betting terminal I stuck a tenner on an acca. After winning 13.5pts on yesterday's I've decided to risk 1pt on a fivefold.

    HI,
    Air India vs M.S
Defending Champions Air India is set to resume their MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association Elite Division campaign later today when they will face high-flying M.S (Maharashtra State) Police at Cooperage Stadium.
Air India will be further looking up to make it three wins in a row when they will lock horns against a spirited MS Police side who has been quite unpredictable this season. So far, MS Police has won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1 in three games. In their previous game, they caused a major upset by edging out Mumbai Customs 2-1 at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri.

The likes of Bipin Jadhav, Sagar Bhosle, and Akshay Shinde will be key for MS Police, whereas, experienced midfielder and Captain Vijith Shetty, Santosh Koli, Pratik Koli, Aaron D’Costa might cause problems to MS Police.

Bet to consider – Air india to win ****

    Konyaspor v Karabukspor

Two teams face difficult times in the league. Konya is unable to cover key players Vukovic and Bajic’s place this season with Traore’s injury, the number of quality players on the field is highly reduced.
Konyaspor rested some players in Europa League game against Guimaraes , since only dometics league left in hand, they will look forward to get out of the relegation zone till the season break and more likely focus all their efforts on playing their best against Karabukspor tonight.

Karabukspor are also in trouble as much as Konyaspor. The league’s lowest budget team, administrative problems in the club negatively affect the team. They have never won in the matches they have played on the road this season! , 0 points in last 6 games. Seemed tough at times but goals were missing thing in their games, those goals may come today.

I think Konyaspor is one step ahead.

@cockerspaniel I have used them quite a bit for my 2-3 match goals market bets. Overall they have been fine just a couple of issues at having stakes limited on doubles and trebles that include small lower leagues which I can kind of understand I guess just felt they wee a bit too low but for major leagues etc all is fine

Onuachu ATGS 11/10 (if he starts)
Midtjylland have a decent record against Randers. Only once in the last 13 games have they failed to score twice. Onuachu has netted in the last 4 H2Hs …. he hasn’t started a few matches recently so worth checking the line ups before KO. Espanyol home games tend to produce a lot cards with 8, 9, 7, and 5 cards being shown in their last four. In addition, the set first card time tonight of 25:00 was beaten on all four of these occasions. Card before 25:00 is 5/6 with Bet365.

Finland U20 Women vs England U20 Women could be one to keep an eye on in-play. Finland U20 Women were beaten 10-1 by USA U20 Women a couple of days ago and England drew with USA 3-3 so there could be a sack of goals tonight. I wanted half time goal line but I’m happy to go with the full time line.

Had some success with my group stage Champions League antepost and, after the Last 16 draw, I’m going back to the well.

    Bayern Munich

To Qualify Double @ 5/6 (Betway)
    _____________________________

For a little bit more juice in the price but not at the greatest of value… [small stake]

    Add: Manchester United, Manchester City

    To Qualify 4-Fold @ 7/5 (Sky Bet)
    ____________________________

Hopefully these English sides (and Bayern) do the business in a couple of months time. I don’t think anyone will see past City and Bayern. I’d only worry about Liverpool were Porto to produce solid defensive displays and get a little bit of luck (see: Everton), but over two legs I don’t see that happening. I just don’t think it’s a decent Porto side this year. Mourinho should do the job on Sevilla, who uncharacteristically conceded plenty in the group stage and have suffered noticeable heavy defeats to Valencia, Spartak and Real Madrid this season. A tight Jose side over two legs should keep that Sevilla outfit quiet enough.

Antepost betting always comes with a health warning but with the pennies in the bank from the groups, I’m happy to take this on.

Nimes v Clermont Foot KO 7.45pm

My favour French side Nimes are in action tonight looking to keep in touch at the top of the table. They have had a terrific season and have won 9 of their last 10 but it’s goals they have been the kings of.

Nobody has scored more goals than them and it’s no coincidence this will be the 5th time I’ve posted them as a NAP in as many weeks. 14 of their last 15 games have been over 2.5 goals

Clermont themselves are having a good season but Nimes should be too strong, especially at home. Clermont have scored in their last 6 games against Nimes and another tonight should see this land

    Evening gents,

There are many ways that a Yorkshireman can keep warm once the colder weather draws in:

    1. ‘Sheep Worrying’ – great fun, keeps you active and has the added winter bonus of velcroe gloves and a nice fleece to cuddle up to.

    2. ‘Ferret Training’ – great for insulating the trouser legs but run the risk of ‘scrote-bite’

    3. ‘Chimney Sweeping’ – great for kids! Always warm and the added bonus of cadging a few rogue nuggets of coal to take home.

    HARROGATE TOWN VS. PONTEFRACT COLLIERIES:

In footballing terms, there’s one sure-fire way of staving off the frostbite…scoring goals.

Joking aside, some conditions really do work against a goal-friendly game namely heavy rain and the game-killer of high winds. Cold weather (from personal playing experience and watching hundreds of matches) is often a pretty conducive environment for an active game.

And so it may well be the case in the frozen (but not snow-bound) North. Harrogate Town are certainly no stranger to goals with plenty this campaign – in fact, they have seen 4 or more in 5 of the last 6 matches!

Tonight’s visitors will travel the short distance from Ponte Carlo on the back of a similar vein of form – 5 of their own 9 have seen a minimum of 4 goals.

    One selection:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…1.800

    Best of luck.

I think Reading will be a step too far for Leeds tonight, and with the home advantage, I think it will play a part in tonight’s result. I’ll be honest, this past few months I’ve been largely unimpressed by Leeds, but Reading have quietly gone about their business, almost under the radar . They’re in a false position and even as we approach the busy Christmas period – not even midpoint in the season, Reading will start striding up that table. It is a league where anyone can beat anyone – if they want to. A couple of wins or losses in the top 6 and you drop out of the fight, its that brutal, win a couple from a bottom 1/3rd position and you’re within touching distance of the top 6. Leeds are having a bit of a bad time of late and I think it will continue tonight.

    I have a £20 on the Reading win @ 9/5 with betfair.

    good luck folks

On a side note, my beloved Derby have drawn Man Utd away in the 3rd round FA cup. Cheeky money-grabbing b*stards expect us 5500 travelling fans to fork out £45 to see us play a fringe side against a Man Utd fringe/reserves/under 18’s. An 8pm kickoff on a Friday night and its the first 3rd round tie in many many moons that Man Utd are not on live telly for this round. Straight after Christmas and New year, Gas bill due and everybody skint. From a Derby perspective, i’m glad we’re drawn them away, we’ll lose and we can get on with the main job of getting out of this league. But £45 to see a reserves game ??? No thanks. I’d rather boycott it.

A few bookies only settle after FT, which really sucks. Have used SJ a few times and really didn’t like their site or in play set up – rather primitive compared to the top dogs.
