IT'S not your normal Saturday with just a handful of games in Scotland and England.

I've posted a separate preview on the Scots games with three involving bottom-six sides played today and the others tomorrow. My Super Single of Stenhousemuir draw no bet at 31-10 with McBookie is reasoned there.

All the Premier League games are on Sunday and I'll put up a preview tonight.

My tips in Saturday's Daily Record are a combination of Saturday and Sunday games but on the site I've picked out just Saturday matches.

I'm featuring mainly European matches with the final Bundesliga games at 2.30pm and the French matches kicking of at 8pm. It will be party time for PSG as they're presented with the trophy and should beat Rennes with plenty to spare in treble-winning boss Unai Emery's final home match in charge.

Lyon should also see off struggling Strasbourg by at least two but my bet is Lyon to score 2+ and complete the treble with Getafe not to lose at home to Atletico Madrid who will be weakened as they get ready for the Champions League Final.

Plenty of games where there should be goals, especially in the Bundesliga, but I've narrowed my choice down to three and hopefully picked the right ones.

I've also added a moneyback fivefold – hoping for a full house but at worst one wrong.

Last night my goals treble was beaten by Fulham but I covered the stake at half-time as the other five teams had scored.

Well done to Greg whose main French Ligue 2 bet landed with 36 goals scored in the last round of games and he'll be counting down the days till they resume. Jordan's goals tip was also a winner.

Morning trip down under for me once again having not looked at the main card just yet. Prices are generally as skinny as ever but I’ll chance these trio of games where goals look likely.

    Half Stake:

    Brisbane Wolves v Souths United
    Western Knights v Mandurah City
Moreton Bay v Brisbane Roar U21

    O2.5 Match Goals Treble @ 11/10 (Bet365)

The Danes have been kind to me three days on the bounce and I’m staying in the Nords tonight. Last time out I backed against Start to concede twice against Odd on the road, and they did so with an extra goal to boot. Tonight they host the league leaders in Brann who are unbeaten winning seven of their eight games (six in a row). Start have lost their last three at home but they’ve scored in the last five against Brann at home in the league. This might be the type of game they make difficult for Brann, but I can’t see them keeping a clean sheet, so two goals looks decent value here for the visitors in fine form.

The wee early hours of Monday sees one for the notebook…

    BLOOMING VS. WILSTERMANN (0030 KO):

This one sits 0-3 on aggregate and I’ll not trot out my reasoning.

Wilstermann have 9 days grace after this one before their next game in the Copa Sud – once again, the bookies are giving them way too much grace.

    Expect prices to drop.

    One selection:

    WILSTERMANN OVER 1.5 TGS…6/5

World cup starts June 14th, can’t wait.
Bookies price most games evens or above for Btts so rich pickings if you can identify the right ones.

I backed Egypt to beat Russia about 3 months ago at 4-1, a price I thought was huge probably because Russia are host’s, but they are crap and Egypt have salah.
It’s about 7-2 at best now so bookies seem to have caught on.
Also I notice they have uruguay and Egypt to qualify from group A at 9-2 which I will be all over.

Not sure how Russia will do as hosts but Egypt must have a reasonable chance.
Only problem is apart from Salah who else do they have.

Fair point, main reasons are salah, Egypt finalist in last African nations and Russia for me are defensively too old, lack any real x factor player and maybe consumed by pressure of being hosts.

Can’t wait, love the group stages, 3 games a day kicking off 1pm 4 pm and 7pm most days

    • Avatar of HullShaker

Been mulling it over this week myself Parsley.

      Germany – always there.

      Brasil – 2nd favourites…not for me.

Argentina – Messi’s tournament to achieve the one thing he hasn’t? Not with his teamates which is sad but true.

France – a sublime outfit but maybe not yet ready on the world stage.

Belgium – as above – love their players and the squad looks really solid but maybe not ready just yet.

I’ll maybe get pelters for this, but for me, the real quality sides win things with players that play in more benign roles…

Spain – Don’t ever underestimste the cost of a very, very good goalkeeper. In De Gea, the Spaniards have the best in the world and keepers can turn fortunes and win trophies as much as the best forwards and midfielders.

Add in the stamp of a passing game that puts even the best Brasilan side in the shade with the fact that Silva and the mercurial Iniesta (don’t let age fool you – he’s as good as anyone) are in prime form and you’ve a team that holds strength in defence (Ramos, Piquet, Busquets) with an offense that has broken the mould.

The one concern may be the forward line but there’s enough talent behind them to feed through the strongest of defences to forwards who, let’s face it, are no mugs…Costa seems favoured and could do very well.

One last mention and he’s gone under the radar with many bigger names around…Isco. In my humble opinion, this guy is special and has the class to perform at the very highest level.

I never bet on World Cup winners but look for a bit of value preceeding the final game – here’s my pre-tournament NAP and NB:

      SPAIN TO REACH QUARTER FINAL…8/13
      ?????

      SPAIN TO REACH SEMI-FINAL…11/8

Also hope for goals in the Strasbourg v Lyon game. For a goal scorer going for an England u19 player who scored a hatrick for Vitesse in the first leg. GL all today

Going for a four-fold made up of tips on here from Mr f and Scott (had a couple of them picked out prior to posts):
    Lyon 2+ goals
    Real Sociedad 2+goals
    PSG minus 1
    Utrecht game btts
    Pays 4-1

One I fancy for tomorrow that might be worth considering with small stakes….
Juventus to win and btts 11-2
Watched alot of Juve this season and after sweeping aside Milan in cup during the week with plenty to spare, think they are more than capable of taking care of Roma. I’ve been impressed with Roma lately as well and think they will score as Juve haven’t been quite as tight at the back recently. Juventus are a cut above on current form and one last effort secures the title. At 11-2 might be worth a look.
Good luck all with a bet on over the weekend ?

    Morning gents

Off to Perth today to say farewel to a trio of club legends who are leaving the club ( Alan Mannus, Chris Miller and Stephen MacLean )

    St Johnstone v Ross County

It’s make or break for Ross County, failure to win here and a Partick thistle win will see the staggies go down. Regardless of what happenes in the Thistle game They need to win here and that should suit us . We have been on fire winning 5-1 and 2-1 away at Motherwell and Hamilton respectively. Should be a decent game and I fancy goals in what will be an open game with both sides getting on the scoresheet.

Utter dirge from me last night – can’t be any less successful and hoping a visit to Wembley might offer up some value…

BOREHAM WOOD VS. TRANMERE (1500 KO):

The National League playoff final sees Tranmere looking to do what they failed to do last season against Forest Green and creep back into the Footbal League proper.

They finished the current campaign 7 points in front of Boreham Wood but it’s the Southern side who hold the hoodoo over Micky Mellin’s boys with a 2-1 home win and a 2-2 away draw at Prenton this season.

The scoreline was 3-1 to Forest Green this time last year and I can’t help thinking this one holds goals; both sides midweek playoff games saw a few as have each of the last 3 H2H’s.

With Tranmere arguably the better side, it was Boreham Wood who finished the stronger of the two – this ought to be a cracker.

    Two selections to consider:

    BTTS…4/5
    ????

    SCORE DRAW…15/4

It’s a big old card in SA this evening but one game stands out for value…like Craneguy’s ‘holiday haircut’, I’m opting for a Brasilian…

    CSA VS. BOA (2030 KO:

Boa couldn’t constrict the skin off a rice pudding at the minute; 4 games played = 4 losses – in fact they have actually lost 6 on the trot having conceded 2 goals in the last 3.

CSA are off to a much better start having won 3 of their own opening quartet – they’ve done it in style as well scoring 3-5-1-2 team goals so far mainly down to their star striker Michael Douglas (I thought his knees had gone shortly after Basic Instinct)

Interesting prices here and I reckon a touch too generous.

Hughie Fury hasn’t knocked anybody out since 2015 and doesn’t fight in a particularly aggressive way but is clearly a level above Sam Sexton and has much better ring generalship so its likely he’ll box his way to a points win like many of his victories (although with my luck he’ll probably do Sexton with a body shot ?).
