IT was two bets on Tuesday and one winner so no complaints there.
I played safe with the Top Treble taking Plymouth, Fleetwood and Lincoln on the double chance – and all of them won easily.
There weren't many goals around in the league games and my treble never looked like landing.
Well done to all the winners including HullShaker whose Bury preview was spot on.
On Wednesday there is a full Scottish Premiership card and I've posted up a preview as well as a separate post on Kilmarnock vs Rangers.
Kevinmac has bravely previewed Burton vs Man City in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final and who knows how that will go. At 9-0 down Burton are only playing for pride against what is certain to be Pep Guardiola's second strong.
Elsewhere it's Sevilla v Barcelona in the Spanish Cup and while Nimes v Angers is a Ligue 1 match the rest of the games in France are in the Cup including PSG v Strasbourg. PSG will be keen to run up a big win after losing to Guingamp in the League Cup.
There are also cup games in Holland and Portugal so quite a lot to look at although finding value isn't easy and as always team news is vital in cup games.
For example if Lionel Messi starts Barcelona should win and if at least two out of three from Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edison Cavani start then it should be easy for PSG.
I've picked out two trebles – the one I have in today's Record and if you prefer just go for straight wins.
My second treble is a risky won from the French Cup and I'm placing it of course without seeing the PSG line-up so hopefully they go strong having lost out on one domestic trophy.
PSG have won two games by an aggregate of 12-0 since losing to Guingamp in the French League Cup. They beat Strasbourg 5-2 at home in the last meeting but their visitors are going well and hammered Monaco 5-1 away last weekend.
Adding Ligue 1 sides St Etienne and Rennes who are going well but can't win the league so should be targeting a cup run. Saints are at home to Ligue 2 Dijon while Rennes travel to St Pryve St Hilaire who play in National League 2 with the likes of Les Herbiers and Sete.
I may add a Super Single, possibly a first scorer, after I see the starting teams for the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Man City and Barcelona.

Surprised to see Twente as favourites in this quarter final. Twente are second in the Eerste divisie, but they were very bad in their last 2 games. Willem II is a very strong opponent and are 9th in the Eredivisie at the moment. They only lost 3 away games this season and 2 of these 3 games were at PSV and Ajax. Willem II sold their topscorer to Dinamo Kiev, but they brought in some good players this winter. I think Willem II should be favourites in this game.

Summary

They won the first round ( league) in style, and have started the second round in similar vein but have been conceding goals more regularly, 6 in their opening 4 fixtures! I’ve opted to take a -1 Man City win @ 4/9 with bet365 tonight. Can’t see City taking the foot off the gas, maybe they might give the Brewers a chance to put on a bit of something for their own fans, but I still see them breezing through this one with plenty to spare even with their 2nd string squad. I doubt we’ll see another 9 nil but a 4 or 5 goal winning margin is about where I think this match will end up. Hence the relative safety and low expectation of the chosen -1 straight handicap. I see its not looking good with the plane missing over the channel.
