TUESDAY was a pretty good night in the Premier League unless you were at Brighton.

The other three games produced plenty of goals and two of them, at Leicester and Watford, were on my both to score treble. St Mirren v Livingston was the other to bring up a 41-10 winner.

My Super Single was void after Dumbarton conceded a late goal to draw with QoS while Derby's surprise defeat at home to Ipswich downed the Top Treble.

On a decent night overall Jordan's West Brom goal time landed easily and my opening bet in the new £10 to £1000 challenge was also a winner. Apologies for saying Greg's nap won – I was thinking his nap was the French goals tip when he was in fact one short on the Scottish Development League game.

Wednesday sees two big games in the Scottish Premiership – Rangers v Aberdeen and Motherwell v Celtic. I've already tipped Aberdeen draw no bet against a Rangers side that's lost back-to-back games to Hamilton and Dundee. Celtic and Hibs have won at Ibrox this season and despite the fuss over Derek McInnes I can't see the Dons losing.

McBookie go 12-5 on an Aberdeen win which is likely but I'm having a decent-sized Super Single on Aberdeen draw no bet at 8-5. Rangers have won just two out of seven at home and until Friday had been better away with five victories.

In England there are six Premier League games including Man City v Southampton, Stoke v Liverpool and Chelsea v Swansea.

On the Continent there are more cup matches which you have to tread warily on as well as seven Ligue 1 matches including PSG v Troyes.

I've posted separate Scottish and English previews. A second Super Single, with reasoning on the English thread, is a double on Man City -1 and Chelsea -1.

You could add Arsenal -1, PSG -1 and Lyon -1 (check out Scott Allot's preview) for a handicap fivefold that pays 11-1 at betfair.

Not much in the way of goals bets I like but taking a chance on both EFL Trophy matches to see both scoring and over 2.5 goals at Lyon.

Here’s a couple of bets I’ve just lumped on for Rangers vs Aberdeen game.

Aberdeen to score at least 1 goal and to have 4 or more corners in the game at EVS.

Aberdeen to win and Aberdeen to have 6 or more corners in the game at 8/1

    Both prices with Skybet

In the last 29 games at Ibrox Stadium against Aberdeen , Rangers have won 24 , 4 draws and only defeat was that game last season under Pedro who has departed from us , so home win “

I know the stats and last season they ended a miserable run with a win.
But here’s the question: As there been a worse Rangers team to play Aberdeen?
Good luck if you back the home but for me the prices are wrong.

One of very few decent write ups/ advice on that game Mr Burnside.

You won’t get much of a pat on the back from all the Aberdeen backers and as Rangers had a poor couple of results I can see why most would fancy Aberdeen.

    Weds goal tip
Been a horrible month for me on my goals tips with a run of losses at the start putting me behind the 8ball. Managed to claw around half of it back but then it’s been 2 steps forward and 1 back. For today’s tip I’m putting on my maximum stake of 10pts in a day on one bet rather than doing a couple of bets, to try and wipe out the deficit, as I’ve had a fantastic month with the other bets I do. I wouldn’t advise anyone else to lump the same stake on if they follow, so keep it sensible as to what you usually bet.

    Stoke v Liverpool
Over 3.5 goals at 11/8 (NAP)
Over 4.5 goals at 3/1 (NB)
    Over 5.5 goals at 7/1
Can’t see anything other than goals here and Liverpool have the added incentive to win as they can leapfrog Tottenham,Mane and Firmihno were rested at the weekend so should be fresh 1 loss in twelve so will be looking to keep that run going.

    • Avatar of Elvis Parsley
      elvis parsley 7 years ago

I agree, 2 teams with rubbish defences should lead to goals .
Liverpool need points to remain in contention for a Europa league spot next season, i still think spurs will nick the 4th champions league spot with the 1st 3 already spoken for, and stoke need them to avoid being sucked in to a relegation scrap .
Liverpool can’t defend set pieces so crouch might get some joy if he plays .
Should be the most entertaining game tonight.
      2-2 my pick

    • Avatar of mark edley
      maccathered 7 years ago

Yeah agree Liverpool will be fighting for a europa spot,Man utd, arsenal, spurs already assured top four place,Liverpools lack of talent, should be good enough for 6th at least.

    • Avatar of Elvis Parsley
      elvis parsley 7 years ago

Lol, bit tongue in cheek my post mAcca.

If Liverpool could dig out shitty 1-0 wins when things don’t go to plan they certainly are good enough for top 4, that’s why United seem destined for top 4.
City, united and Chelsea looked good for top 4 for me, leaving liverpool spurs and arsenal shooting for the other spot.
Tight wad spurs probably won’t splash out in January as they need more quality depth in their squad and that may cost them.
With arsenal the likes of ozil won’t be getting stuck in after Xmas with the world cup on the horizon and Sanchez will be off a the end of the season so won’t be wanting an injury to scupper his move to Psg.

If I had to pay to watch 2 teams in the prem for attacking excitement it would be city and liverpool, but city seem more defensively sound than previous seasons.
Saying that I still think city could be vulnerable if teams are brave enough to have a go at them, but most seem intent on damage limitation when they play them.

    • Avatar of mark edley
      maccathered 7 years ago

City will win the premier league this year for sure, probably wrapped up by january,as for top four there are five teams each with the same chance as one another, you cant seperate these teams although the signing of Neiby Keita will put Liverpool on par with city next season.

    • Avatar of Wato

Buying another forward player won’t solve the problems that’s cost them for many years now

    • Avatar of mark edley

Keita’s not a forward player,he is a defensive midfielder which is what we need,he likes to get forward though on occasions and when he does he usually scores.

Hello everyone, going to try a Christmas £10-1000 challenge with bets at evens or above, should take around 7 bets but won’t be one a day, just when I see one I like (providing the first wins lol).

    Bet 1 – Bournemouth v Burnley
    1st half correct score 0-0 – 13/8

On the same subject I also fancy the same bet in the Arsenal game at 3/1 so will do that as a second single and a double for a small stake.

I can confirm that your bet on corners in the the first 10 minutes, over 0.5 in the Watford v Man Utd fixture has now been reviewed for you.

I can confirm that your bet has been settled correctly as a losing bet. The footage of this fixture has been reviewed, and it has been confirmed that the corner was taken at 10:00, but was awarded before this. Bets are settled on what time the corner is actually taken, and not the time in which they have been awarded.

Also, for 10 minute events, events must happen between 0:00 and 09:59 to be classed in the first 10 minutes.

They’ve been poor but fair play to Rangers who have been much better than in recent weeks.

Spot on, McInnes got it all wrong. Been a long time since I have seen as poor a ref performance as Dallas gave tonight. So biased it was unreal.

    tonites bets LOST……..

just from ibrox (kin frozen tae the bone man) and was good to see a decent performance from us tonite………. did mention on last nites thread we would do Aberdeen easy peasy but rarely bet on my own team……….. the dons don’t travel well to ibrox or the gyrodome as mentioned by a few……… said before don’t fancy mcinnes as our next manager as bottled it every time up against celtic when had the chance when we were in lower leagues, if that was his final interview tonite failed miserably……….. WD all with winners…………

just seen Celtics last minute penalty equaliser there……… geez oh……. think am a pretty fair minded guy but ff sakes if that’s a penalty be as well chucking it here and now…………..

Yeah too easy for Rangers tonight but why didn’t they play like that against Dundee.
Haven’t seen Celtic’s pen but on the radio they said it was softest of the season.
Man in charge – out old friend Willie Collum. I believe that was Celtic’s first pen in the league this season.
