GOALS were at a premium in the World Cup qualifiers as six days of games ended in a whimper.
Only Spain netted more than two and their landslide against Liechtenstein was expected.
Wales finally found a way through against Moldova and then to my great surprise landed the Super Single with an injury-time second from Aaron Ramsay. I required another Italy goal for the double as they won 1-0 at home to Israel.
So after six days of battling the bookies it's possibly honours even with a magic Monday followed by a less than terrific Tuesday.
It was a different story for Greg who steered clear of the European World Cup ties and posted two winning goals bets so well done to him.
I'm quite pleased to see the back of the internationals because the toughest task isn't picking winners but finding value – whether that bet overs, handicaps or whatever.
It could be two no bet days for me ahead of a return to UK league action on Friday.

Aside from England failing to cover the -1 straight handicap that I thought, betting-wise, I’ve been kinda missing from the action.
I did say that England were very much a 2nd half side , and those able to bide their time might consider taking the win result if it remained all square at ht. That delivered but my bank was tied up on the -1 h/c, so I decided not to place a 2nd bet.
Anyway, pre-Mayweather/MacGregor , I gave you guys a heads up on a ” little ” boxing match involving a guy who I’d not personally heard of. Mid September – Gennady Golovkin. My buddy over in Texas is big into his boxing and he told me about this fighter maybe 6 weeks back. I think if memory serves me right, he mentioned a weight division change for his opponent to make the fight happen and that his opponent was essentially told by the boxing organisation ” You’re going to fight Golovkin “. My buddy reckons the opponent body-swerved it around 18 months back and it got the backs up of the boxing organisation. I think his opponent is having weight issues at the moment. Not only does he have to get to the right weight, but he’s also got to adapt his style to accommodate this change.
My buddy reckons Golovkin will have him on the canvas.
What with the awful weather over in Texas this past 10 days, its kinda played havoc right across the state. Fresh water probs, major fuel shortage, high winds, power outages, yet my buddy living in Fort Worth has kinda just had the tail end of it rather than the full frontal ” rip your neighbourhood ” type of weather. High winds, mass fuel shortages and power/interweb outages are the things he’s dealing with but slowly the state is starting to straighten itself out.
This is the main reason I’ve not been able to get a full email from him about his fight summary. I’ll do my best to get that for you with as much time to spare as possible, but keep this boxing match on your radar. We could end up on to something nice here. I’ve promised his i’ll split my winnings with him if his prediction comes true.
