IT'S a big night in Europe with the Spanish and German leagues kicking off.
Short-priced favourites Bayern Munich get the Bundesliga under way at home to Bayer Leverkusen while La Liga is launched with Leganes v Alaves followed by Valencia v Real Betis.
Monaco travel to Metz and watch out for Greg's tips on Ligue 2 and possibly the Jupiler League openers in Holland which are usually good for goals.
Only UK game is Burton v Birmingham which looks an unders one while there is a League of Ireland card to consider.
I've been focusing on my Saturday tips and Daily Record column so not much chance to study Friday games but I have two tips both featuring Monaco – so it could be Monte Carlo or bust.
I don't have much to do to what's been written about Monaco. They have won 14 in a row in Ligue 1 and last season won 5-0 and 7-0 against Metz. They have started with two wins – Metz with two losses. The last five meetings have been won by Monaco by an aggregate 17-0.
For the Super Single back Monaco to win doubled with Valencia draw no bet. I expect Valencia to win but will keep the draw on side as it's the opener. Las Palmas have a new boss, have lost some players and could take time to get going.
It doesn't pay much but will wipe out the small Super Single deficit if it wins.
For the Treble add risk with Monaco -1, Valencia to win and both to score at Standard Liege v Zulte Waregem which has a history of goals.
Last night I was happy to risk 2pts on the Europa League and both bets went close but were ultimately losers. Fenerbahce were the only team to miss out on the 8-1 btts treble and a late equaliser by Sheriff at Legia Warsaw meant the moneyback fivefold went down instead of being void with three winners and Bruges being held at home to AEK Athens.
The Betting Club is still alive thanks to Athletic Bilbao draw no bet and it's been a slow build this week but I'm in no hurry with that one.
Remember to check welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

Metz v Monaco
Metz have lost their first 2 games and the -1 handicap was covered in both. Monaco having scored 3 then 4 in their opening 2 will most likely do the same. Their 2 meetings last season resulted in 5-0 and 0-7 victories for Monaco.

Looking good ?
Busy weekend ahead for myself gigging, so already got my bets placed.
My biggy for Saturday is a fivefold of Liverpool, Ipswich, Hibs, Rangers and Dundee Utd all over 1.5 tgls, which pays nearly 10/1.
Good luck y’all…..
HULLSHAKER ur a legend i tweaked ur over 2.5 and 3.5 one caldas tips and done 2 singles btts 1 st half and 2nd 1-1 40mins at 5/1 absolutely brilliant pal cheers.
No worries Jim – goals were a big price!
I only did the o2.5, wish i had bigger balls. Put me in a winning position today though after Partizan Belgrade ruined things earlier on. Cheers HULLSHAKER
One bet for me tomorrow and it’s a late Brasilian…
JUVENTUDE VS. VILA NOVA (2315 KO):
Interesting one this and with both teams at the right end of the table it’s Vila Nova with momentum on their side…they’ve won 3 of their last 4 but more notably (for me at least) have scored in 80% of their last 5 away games.
Juventude find themselves in something of a dip but home soil has seen them net in all but one of their last nine and I just think there’s value in the notion that both sides will contribute here.

ONCE CALDAS VS. DEPORTES TOLIMA (0000 KO):
Both Caldas and Tolima aren’t having the best of seasons and languish in 18th and 14th place respectively – between their last 12 games, around 60% have seen 3 or more goals.
H2H’s add more than a glimmer of hope to the possibility of value for goals with the 4 most recent H2H’s over an 18 month period seeing scorelines of: 2-3, 3-0, 3-2 and 3-1!

Falcao ATGS, Lierse > 1.5 MGS Evens
Monaco game has been mentioned at the top of the thread. Even likely without Mbappe (& Silva) they are still scoring. Falcao like last season is finding onion bag with 4 in 2 games. He also scored 3 against Metz in the games last season. Lierse in the Belgium second tier will hopefully see a couple of goals in 2 games they and Roeselare have scored 10 and conceded 6 (BTTS also looks decent at 8/13). GL all today
Germany Bundesliga 2
Eintracht Braunschweig v Aue 5.30 pm
Braunschweig over 1.5 tg 10/11 (Bet365) 11 points (Scale 1-20)
May add a write-up later if I get the time..
Braunschweig are among the favourites to go up this season while Aue are 2nd favourites for the drop. Aue’s first two
games of the new season ended in 1-2 and 0-2 defeats and in the first round of the German Cup they were beaten 2-0
by lower division side Wehen.
If Aue hadn’t sacked their manager a couple of days ago this would have been a ’20 pointer’ and while I still expect Braunschweig to score 2+ I’m going for a lower stake here.
*lost*
plenty of chances for both teams but no 2nd goal for Braunschweig.. apologies if anyone was on.

Two mid-day tips from me today;
Singapore S-League – 12.30PM
Hougang v Geylang International
Think there should be goals in this game. Hougang come into this match on the back of a double Singapore Cup victory over Cambodian side Naga World, notching 4 team goals in both games. I tipped there to be goals in this fixture, and Hougang didn’t let me down. Recently back with a full strength squad they were impressive. Their league form has been inconsistant of late, but that is due to them having key players missing at the time.
Geylang sit in 5th place in the S-League table, and excluding two recent thumpings by superior league leaders Albirex in the league and league cup, their form has been decent. Of the other 5 most recent games, they have notched 4 wins & a 3-3 draw. I expect them to score today.
I see a full strength Hougang against a decent-form Geylang making for a 3+ goal match today.

Metz v Monaco

Hibs v Hamilton
Hibs to Score 2+
Double pays 5/4 @ SunBets – 4 Points
As has been mentioned Monaco beat Metz twice last season 5-0 & 7-0 on their way to winning the league title. They have started the season well, scoring 3 and 4 goals in their opening two games. Metz have conceded 3 and 2 as they have lost both of their opening fixtures, so Monaco should be hoping to notch at least 2 tonight.
Hibs have started the season with maximum points from their opening two games with goals a plenty, also scoring for fun in the league cup. Hamilton won’t be pushovers but I think Hibs are certainly capable of scoring two at home.

Looking ahead to the weekends football.
Tottenham v Chelsea (Sunday 16:00 KO)
This is undoubtedly the fixture of the weekend and it’s also the most interesting, because what we have here is a scenario that will probably never happen ever again!
Chelsea became the 2nd team in history to lose the opening game of a new season as champions, Leicester were the first – last season. So what Conte and Chelsea are aiming to prevent, is to become the first team ever in Premier League History to lose the opening 2 fixtures as Champions, and it’s a London Derby too!
That is an embarrassing record that the 5 time champions will not want against their name, especially against Spurs!
Chelsea go into this game with a few issues, red cards for Fabregas and Cahill mean they won’t be available, an injury to Pedro and the ongoing disruptive Costa saga.
But there are certain situations which transcend these issues, let us not forget that Chelsea are the champions and have a squad full of internationals… PRIDE and REPUTATION is at stake here.
The game will be played at Wembley, Spurs temporary home ground.. so this London derby will have a much different feel to it, its certainly not going to feel like a home game to Spurs.. who won’t be 100% settled in yet!
Conte may stick to a back 3, and could see starts for Andreas Christensen and a debut for Tiemoue Bakayoko, and there’s talk of Eden Hazard (set to return from injury), whoever does start for Chelsea it will still be a squad of internationals.. and you can guarantee one thing for sure, conceding 3 goals against Burnley was unacceptable and will not happen again, Conte will set up this game not to lose!
Chelsea have a decent H2H record against Spurs, losing just once (all comps) since March 2015.
Chelsea Double Chance @ 1.80 (Marathon Bet).
✌
a big DRAW
Nice write-up Raoul…nice to see you back in bat country.
Your writeup hints more of a Spurs win than anything else for me.
Personally think Spurs can edge this one with the absence of all these chelsea players. But looks like a 1-1 draw on paper. If i was to pick a side on draw no bet market I would choose spurs!
Thanks Hull, I’m back, every now and then when your life gets dull and the weasels start closing in, the only cure is to load up on heinous chemicals, place a large bet and enjoy the ride…accompanied with at least a pint of ether.
Nothing in this world more hideous than a man in the full throes of an ether binge…

Metz v Monaco
Monaco started the Ligue 1 perfectly with 2 successes in 2 games played beside this, expecting something different here, Monaco will aim to beat the record of 15 wins in a row in Ligue 1 tonight
-Monaco win-
Kasimpasa v Besiktas
Should be an open game, Kasimpasa’s crappy defence can’t stop ultra offensive Besiktas side scoring , also Besiktas is straggling in the defence after Marcelo’s departure , and tr international Gokhan Gonul’s injury. Probably Adriano will start as a right back while new signings Pepe and Gary Medel are dc.
-Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
Valencia v Las Palmas
Two selections for me [analize]
Valencia to win first half
Valencia draw no bet
Burton to bt Birmingham 2/1
Small stakes on 2-0 12/1
Burton won both fixtures last season 2-0 and a friendly prior to that also 2-0
Dyer and akins scored the goals in both games last season might consider them to score first at 10/1 and 7/1 respectively

Afternoon gents
French Ligue 2 is in full swing now. – have had a good look through today’s card, it’s not the easiest – but have found two games I like the look of
Ajaccio v US Quevilly
Its been a tough few weeks for the visitors, having lost two home games 0-1 and 1-4 – they travel to play an Ajaccio side who have still to register a win ( 3 draws ) but are tough to beat at home! This is going to be a tight game but taking the hosts to get off the mark against a side who are going to find life in this league tough after their promotion
Le Harve v Valenciennes
I said at the start of the season Le Harve should be there or there abouts a come the end of the season and they aren’t letting me down, 3 wins from 3 and 10 goals scored! It’s such a competitive league and it’s rare for teams to go on 4+ winning runs. They are a decent price to win today but I’m going to side with goals – ( scored 2+ Goals in their last 5 meetings at home) Valenciennes are no mugs, they are unbeaten and will provide Le Harve with their toughest test to date
Back Ajaccio to win

A couple of tips below:
– Braunschweig vs Aue – Braunschweig to win
– Goias vs America MG – Under 2.5 match goals
–> DOUBLE BET ON ABOVE @ 3.00
–> LEGANES vs ALAVES – BTTS @ 2.35
Goias/America-MG: Match with closed gates (no supporters for the home team). America MG has a solid defense and is usually involved in matches with low number of goals scored when playing away. One of America’s main strikers (Bill) is suspended. Goias seems to be improving under new manager despite league position and the loss to Oeste at home (the other recent matches had reasonable/expected results). Seems to be a match that will have low score
Good luck to all!

Hibernian v Hamilton
Don’t know why I was worrying about the injury picked up by Martin Boyle, he has been outstanding this season in his wide role and his link up play with Simon Murray was immense
The team managed fine last week without him but we need him back, against Rangers we started slowly but the team settled after a piece of brilliance by Simon Murray, after we scored even before the sending off we were the better team, we dominated midfield, Slivka was class and his goal was a bit special, John McGinn was something else though, he was a class apart, his level of play has raised since last season and it’s no surprise that Hibernian have put a £5m tag on him,
This Saturday it’s Hamilton and the fans will be looking for a bit of pay back, Hamilton relegated us three seasons ago but looking at it now those three seasons were probably be the best thing that happened to us, it’s given us time to restructure the club from top to bottom, I don’t know much about Hamilton but I do know if Hibernian turn up with the right attitude we should score goals, I keep saying it but Hibernian have the second best squad in Scotland and probably the most balanced squad in Scotland
So after the news that Martin Boyle will be out for 4-6 weeks Neil Lennon is brings in Brandon Barker on loan from Man City, I must admit I didn’t know who Brando Barker is so it was a few phone calls to my Manchester contacts who inform me Hibernian have signed a right player, strong on the ball, not afraid to get stuck in, skilful on the ball, good close control and has an eye for goal, they told me he will destroy defences in Scotland
All in all we should be looking at 3 goals or more which is still about 2/1 or bigger
Simon Murray should be a good bet to score at 11/8
Slivka is big at 15/2 anytime but in honesty anyone could score in our team
The Rangers game means nothing if we don’t beat Hamilton
Brandon Barker was a name to follow for years on the Manchester Youth circuit and was with Droylseden as a youngster before City took him on.
Had problems with his attitude and had plenty of run-ins with refs but seems to have matured since he went from Rotherham to NAC Brada then back to City – plenty of raw talent and strong with both feet.
Rumours were he’d lost his focus and confidence again lately but certainly a player to get the fans on their feet – City profile of him here :

This should be a hard fought contest with both teams struggling at the moment.
Randers haven’t been given the best fixtures to start their season on FCK, Midtjylland and Brøndby as always gong to be difficult.
To keep a clean sheet against Brøndby in the last game shows progress. But they Don’t have fire power up top.

Evening gents. Tonight see’s the return of La Liga, and our favourite league from Holland, the Eerste. Unfortunately site favourites Top Oss don’t feature today, so we’ll have to wait till Monday.
Hoping to still find a goal though where Las Palmas head to Valencia, where the traveler are undefeated against Valencia in the league since they returned to the top flight in 2015. They also won both La Liga ties, and still have the depth to cause trouble. BTTS is being backed, and Las Palmas have a more than reachable goal time of 62:00 @ 365.

I’m happy to take leverkusen goal alone

Ibiza on Sunday for a stag so any extra winnings will do down nicely
Nuts kicked in Valencia ?
Unlucky – sorry didn’t get post up but busy night at the Record.
Got my two corner bets up in the Monaco game 6/5 and 7/4. I have been betting corner bets on Monaco for a few weeks now and there usually are a few corners in their games.
Well if it could go wrong it did.
Standard liege 4 goals in game the favs couldnt claim 1 off them.
Monaco fail to shine.
And las palmas decide to play valencia with 10 men.
Glad that nights over back to our own leagues tomorrow.

Tricky card this friday, I believe.
A couple of tips below:
– Braunschweig vs Aue – Braunschweig to win
– Goias vs America MG – Under 2.5 match goals
–> DOUBLE BET ON ABOVE @ 3.00 – **LOST**
–> LEGANES vs ALAVES – BTTS @ 2.35 – **LOST**
Goias/America-MG: Match with closed gates (no supporters for the home team). America MG has a solid defense and is usually involved in matches with low number of goals scored when playing away. One of America’s main strikers (Bill) is suspended. Goias seems to be improving under new manager despite league position and the loss to Oeste at home (the other recent matches had reasonable/expected results). Seems to be a match that will have low score
Good luck to all!
