THE Europa League games didn't quite live up to the expectations but a Marseille v Atletico Madrid final looks on.
Arsenal blew it at home to the 10-man Spaniards and a 1-1 draw makes Diego Simeone massive favourites while Marseille won 2-0 at home to Red Bull Salzburg.
The Austrians' failure to score – and they were unlucky with a late one off the post and a penalty denied by Willie Collum – beat my btts double. Greg was a goal short at the Emirates with the early red possibly beating him as there's no doubt it spoiled the game although was a correct call.

Since then Derry have won 6 drew 1 which was away to Dundalk and have won 5/5 at home scoring 16 conceding just 3, Rovers have lost 5/6 lg aways and without a win last 4 lg games losing 3 including losing at a terrible Bray side. The reserve teams are not allowed to be promoted. Promotions goes to the next “non-reserve” team that is highest at the end of the season, which at this point would be Fortuna Sittard.

wow very surprised at that, with Rangers wanting to compete with Celtic thought they would’ve focussed on someone with experience. Liverpool U18’s to Rangers is a big step. Good luck to him though. Gerrard would be better suited at a more mid-level club to build up experience, with a view to eventually become become Liverpool manager

Celtic did this a while back with John Barnes and Kenny D. as his mentor. That was a spectacular failure. Whoever it is will need plenty of money – Do Rangers have it? that is the question.
it’s not a pop at Gerrard just cause he’s LFC, I am surprised at the selection that’s all. Passion and determination alone doesn’t win trophies, seems strange risking on a manager with no real experience that’s all I mean.
If Gerrard was to be named manager just think of the players he could bring into the club,maybe thats what Rangers are thinking,Gerrards close ties to Liverpool would mean he gets first dibs on players etc loan deals,maybe this is what Rangers are thinking,i mean i bet if he were to become manger maybe his first loan deal would be Danny Ings or even Danny Sturridge,top players etc.
If gerrard does become manager then finances would dictate what players he brings in, not just his name. Imo this is an appointment designed to bring in a “big name” without having to pay a big name salary. Time will tell
Another thing- great motivator or not, hebwill have to win games immediately otherwise he’ll last as long as Pedro and murty. Every rangers fan in my work has said the same thing- don’t want him. Agree with Sean above about Derry so no need to repeat those thoughts. Drogheda played essentially a youth side when getting beat 7-2 by Shelbourne last time out in the cup.
