SUNDAY was as mental as it could be. First there was the 5-5 at Hibs then a 5-4 at Spurs and finally a 5-4 defeat for Barcelona.
The Spanish game ended Barca's unbeaten run and completed a poor weekend for champions.
On Saturday Bayern and PSG suffered home defeats then it was Celtic and Barca's turn on Sunday.
It just proves what a tough time of month it is and a treble on Stuttgart, Rennes and Aberdeen would have been a cracker.
I tipped the Dons draw no bet at 15-4 and other good shouts on Sunday included Mo Salah to score first and Kilmarnock to beat a weakened Hearts.
That would have been my Super Single barring a price crash from 7-5 to 4-5 – and unfortunately the one I went with was a loser. Another league champion in Man City huffed and puffed at Southampton before finally getting the goal that took them to 100 points but I needed more goals.
The first two in my btts treble won but then Roma v Juventus was a damp squib as the Italian champs clinched the title with a 0-0 draw.
Well done to all the winners including Greg and Desmond and what about the gallus calls from Johnb on Hibs goals and maccathered on the matches at Liverpool and Spurs.
Unluckiest punter was Ace with his members bet. He backed Xander Schauffele to beat Jimmy Walker at the Players Championship and the young American fired a super 67 to finish joint second but unfortunately Walker drilled in a brilliant putt on the last to tie so the bet was void.
Tonight it's all about Fulham v Derby in the second leg of their Championship play-off. Derby are in a good position having won 1-0 at home and the Cottagers will need to hit top form to have a chance of going through.
Nathan has put up his thoughts and is predicting a 2-1 win for Fulham that will force extra time. Fulham were the better side for most of the second half of the season but Derby hit form when it mattered with that win against Cardiff and draw with Villa. Defensively they were brilliant in the first game and this may come down to whether Fulham find an early breakthrough.
If they do they'll probably go on to win but if they don't they could become frustrated and it might be Derby's night. Too tough to call this one.
Elsewhere I've looked at a few games and on my radar are Waterford at Bray, AIK at home to Ostersunds and on the site Brondby are being tipped to beat Midtjylland. Goals at Kayserispor in Turkey also have a chance.
I was going to post a double or treble but I don't know enough about potential line-ups to do so confidently. Waterford, AIK, Midtyjlland is a treble I'm going to take but I won't be putting points on it. It pays a best 5-1 at Marathonbet. Kalmar also have a decent chance at home to Sirius.

Fulham v Derby tonight with the Rams leading 1-0. Having had 76% possession, Derby also hit the bar and Ayite?? should of done better with his close range shot but ” Row Z’d ” it. Fulham ruled the roost on race to corners bets, the ref gave Derby barely a sniff of 50/50 decisions but Derby did look a threat on the counter.
I have it in my head that this will end 2-1 to Fulham. I did tell you that Derby look more balanced with the pair of wing-backs and it allows for an on the fly formation change from a 5-3-2-1 to 3-5-2-1. Nobody up front in a Derby shirt got much service and I hope this reverse fixture will see a change in Derby’s fortunes.
Fulham will be going for it, they have to, but if Derby want their place in Wembley’s final, Derby have to push on, gain momentum with more possession and take the game to them. Fulham pressed very high up the pitch having long spells in the Derby half. When Birmingham pressed against Fulham, Birmingham swept them aside. I’d like to see a similar approach from the rams, and if we get that goal and the scores are either tied or its maybe 2-1 to Fulham with the last 30 to play, they have to throw the kitchen sink at us because they have to beat us by 2 clear goals or by one to force extra time. Away goals don’t count.
The away goal rule doesn’t apply to the playoffs.
@nathanufton any idea of line ups ?
Yep, these are based not on official released line-ups because we can’t know that until 18:45hrs.
Olsson is definitely out, his ACL keeps him out until 2019. There is talk that the dilemma for the gaffer is Weimann. Its pretty much rubber stamped that the team shape will be the same, 3 at the back, a pair of wing-backs, a pair of central-defensive midfielders, 2 attackers sat behind a striker.
5-2-2-1 or 3-4-2-1 if it needs to be changed mid-match.
The Weimann dilemma is that he’s essentially competing with Lawrence to partner Vydra who will be sat back 10 yards behind the striker, and whilst Weimann is more suited to a central role and Lawrence playing more consistently up front, it forces Weimann into the wing-back role. Weimann ran his socks off in left wing-back, as did Wisdom on the right. There is a chance that Anya will step in for Weimann but Anya has had barely any football and Weimann will run all day long, so i’d say starting line up will be the same.
Jerome up front took 15 games to get his first goal in a Derby shirt, and now he’s bagged 5 in the last 4 games. If he gets a goal in this match, it will be the first time in his career he’s scored in 5 consecutive matches. Vydra got very little service up front, but to be fair to everyone up front, all of Derby’s attacking line-up got little service.
What didn’t surprise me but I should of flagged it up is that Derby have typically not played for corners and whilst we are a bit more vulnerable at the back from them, i’m surprised we don’t batten down the hatches and limit them. If Fulham don’t manage to catch Derby napping, there’s a chance they’ll get a goal from a corner. Fulham will know we’re a bit lacking in the aerial defensive area, so they’ll force corners until the final whistle.
For value in this game, i’d recommend looking at the ” race to 5 and 7 corners “. Derby will still pitch in with them, we might get 3 or 4 ( probably ) but I do expect Fulham to dominate in the corners count.
I don’t expect any team changes, we have no new injury problems and even though it wasn’t a perfect display from the rams – much like the game at Villa, we seem to of turned a corner since our last away defeat at Burton. Its the formation change !!
My anticipated line-up:
Carson
Keogh/Davies/Forsyth
Wisdom/Weimann
Huddlestone/Johnson
Lawrence/Vydra
Jerome
I’d like to see more from Forsyth, Johnson and Huddlestone. Cairney had way too much of the ball. That needs nullifying. We fell a card short on where I thought the game would be, but Derby also had few 50/50 decisions go our way, but with a different ref, it might be a bit more even.
If Fulham don’t have the game their own way and that clock starts running down, that corners count and cards tally will rise rapidly in the 2nd half.
Not sure if you noticed but Fulham really squeezed Derby in to our own half and took 74-76% possession. If somehow we can put our foot on the ball and play them at their own game like Birmingham did, this game will not be a rubber stamped Fulham win.
Jerome’s goal scoring consistency over 4 games has taken quite a bit of pressure off Vydra, now Fulham know they’ve got 2 dangerous players to deal with. We only had 3 shots – one on target ( the goal ), more shots equals more goal scoring opportunities, Derby need more shots. Statistically, if Vydra gets 2 shots at goal in a match, he’ll score from 1 of them.
I only have 2 beers left, thankfully my buddy has 8 ice cold cans of Kronenburg, that might be enough to calm the nerves.
Two last thoughts, even though we last won away to Preston, we were winning 1 nil until the 82nd minute at Villa where they threw the kitchen sink at us. We are a different beast away from home. That February/March glut was stuffed full of draws. This side is now nothing like that team that was lining up to be beaten. We had our own run that stretched from October to January, we had around 9 clean sheets from 13 at one point and I think 2 losses in 20 odd matches. So we can be a stubborn mule if we want to be.
Finally, Fulham have a great record at home and statistically, you’d put your shirt on them every time. Of late, Fulham have a not so impressive record against Derby – at Craven cottage. The league fixture last year ended 1-1. But more worrying, Fulham have NEVER won a playoff fixture I think in 7 or 8 attempts now. I know I think this will likely end 2-1 to
Fulham, and begrudgingly I have to stick by that even though I now know that the away goal rule doesn’t count for anything, but at odds of around 13/20 for a Fulham win, can somebody please remind me why they’re priced so low??
Fulham corners is your safest option tonight guys.
Confirmed team news up at around 18:45pm.
Cheers, and good luck.
It was a great Sunday topped off with yet another win for Wilstermann in the early hours…1-3 and 1-6 on aggregrate ?
The wee early hours of Monday sees one for the notebook…
BLOOMING VS. WILSTERMANN (0030 KO):
This one sits 0-3 on aggregate and I’ll not trot out my reasoning.
Wilstermann have 9 days grace after this one before their next game in the Copa Sud – once again, the bookies are giving them way too much grace.
Expect prices to drop.

Brondby v Middtjylland
Brondby going for the title this season and have beaten them twice this month in the league and cup 3-2 and 3-1. Midd’land need something from the game so hopefully will be a few goals again today – and Brondby have conceded in their last 8 games. Wilchek scored a brace in both the recent H2H’s.

Massive game in Denmark tonight. Brondby, fresh off their cup final win against Silkeborg, will be looking to beat Midtjylland for the third time in a month. Undefeated at home all season and with 4 wins out of 4 against Midtjylland this campaign, and with a 3 point gap to maintain over their only rivals for the league title, there’s one short-priced selection I can’t resist.

Wednesday:
Hammarby v Malmo
Getting this one up early as I think the prices will change. Hammarby entertain Malmo in midweek and the two sides have started the campaign in completely opposite fashion. Hammarby are unbeaten in their opening 8 games, have won 7 of those, and have scored 2+ goals in all of them. Malmo, meanwhile, have just one clean sheet in 9. They’ve conceded 10 in 5 away games and just lost 1-0 on the road at Trelleborgs (who have scored just 6 in their opening 8 games, compared to Hammarby’s 21).
This one is priced up on name factor due to Malmo’s pedigree. Form wise, there is too much value to pass up.

I keep mentioning this but whenever Brondby play Midtjylland not only do Brondby always win the corner contest, they do it so comfortably that a handicap could be applied to the count yet the bookies still haven’t picked up on it. The four times they’ve played this season has yielded the following corner counts all in Brondby’s favour:
July 9-4 at Brondby
March 4-17 at Midtjylland
April 4-7 at Midtjylland
April 9-6 (Cup final at the Danish national stadium)

The AFC Champions League games are beautifuly poised for bts and overs in the return legs.
Both first legs achieved this. Persepolis losing 3:2 away to Al Jazira and Al Sadd defeating Al Ahli 2:1
Both losing teams are at home with a great chance to overturn the deficit; both away sides gagging for the vital away goal.
Bts and overs double 2.85/1
Also couldn’t resist a cheeky tenner on the treble adding Brondby and over 3.5 for a tasty 14/1 shot. A bit greedy but in for a penny and all that.

Hi,
anybody has any idea of twitter account that post football matches line up first
Just search for 2 definite starters for each team, official teams page isn’t far behind early leaks

Derby team news:
A little surprised by this but I touched on the wing-back situation in an earlier post, Anya comes in on left wing back, Weimann moves up front to support Lawrence and Vydra drops to the bench.
I think the gaffer thinks Derby might need a “fresh legged Czech ” for the last 30 mins as its been quite affective in the last 3 league matches that saw 2 wins and a draw.
