SATURDAY'S card is as tough as I've seen this year – and there have been some testing ones.

Between Tuesday and Saturday I've been through the card several times and picking selections hasn't been easy. FA Cup matches don't help but there aren't many standout teams.

I've posted separate Scottish and English previews and it's definitely a week for low stakes with concentration on goals bets. For a Super Single it's maybe a bit of a cop-out but I've decided to go with a double on Scottish teams I like – Falkirk at winless Brechin and Clyde at home to Cowdenbeath.

Well done to all last night's winners including Greg with his goals tips and good luck with all your weekend selections.

My only bet last night was a Top Treble beaten by Hertha Berlin losing at home to Mainz.

Work is continuing to fix site problems. If you can't see posts remember to check twitter @mrfixitstips. And apologies if you're struggling to comment or read comments – we're doing what we can to resolve it.

League 1 for all 8 games a goal both halves 200/1

Been plenty goals in that league last few weeks and on a reduced card looks overpriced

Also on a HT goal in the 2 3pm KOs in FA cup plus 7 Championship games at 14/1 wi PP. Plus get a free tenner on Monday.

Still can’t believe the mighty hoops managed a clean sheet and beat Zenit, great result for Scottish football but will be a different game next week. Can see us scoring so hopefully wee 2-1 defeat to take us through to the last 16. On another note, this curling team are a braw bunch and couple from Stirling, anna sloan ooofft

certain the fact that they hadn’t played any competitive fixtures in months would help us if we turned up n as we did I really think we should have buried them first leg cause as you say it’ll be tough next week mate. #HH67

Solid day last night in the A-League, with goals featuring as expected. Today we have the two league games with the Phoenix hosting the Glory, followed by Adelaide hosting the Mariners.

    Wellington Phoenix v Perth Glory:
Both sides have been in fairly poor form for most of the season, with Phoenix sitting at the bottom of the ladder. Both team also have terrible defenses, but decent attacks. Krishna returns from injury in another attacking boost for the Phoenix, whilst defender Doyle returns today as well. Velaphi is expected to debut in between the sticks today, whilst Mullen is out with injury.

The Glory had a lot of expectation around them at the start of the season, but have failed to deliver. They still have a chance for a playoff position, but must go on a winning streak, and hope that Wanderers, Victory and the Roar start dropping points. This game sees the return of Andreu, Mills and Brimmer, but Harold is out today.

With the two worst defenses by a country mile on show, both with decent attacks, I really expect an all out attacking game with goals at both ends.

Adelaide United v Central Coast Mariners:
The Reds enter this one on the back of two wins, and are looking to make a decent run into the final part of the season, securing themselves a playoff spot. Absalonsen and Diawara are expected back, however Elrich and Lia remain absent.

The Mariners are still without Brama, but do see the return of Baro after his suspension. But their form has been utterly terrible, without a win in their last five. Few of their performances of late, have given a hint of that changing anytime soon either.

I expect a cagey match, with a few tempers flaring, but ultimately a home win.

    Tips:
    Kaludjerovic & over 2.5 goals @ 2.75 (bet builder)
    Castro & over 2.5 goals @ 3.40 (bet builder)
    Glory – goal before 45th min @ 1.83
    Adelaide win @ 1.75

Morning gents – was a great Friday night, hoping to make it a super Saturday

    Brechin v Falkirk
    Albion Rovers v Raith Rovers

You have to feel for Darren Dodds’s Brechin outfit – they defied the odds to get promoted but were never going to be equipped on the field or financially to compete at this level (hence the have one of lowest points total of any team in Europe)

Falkirk appear to have got their act together and are fast making themselves safe a they should continue their resurgence here

Raith rovers are flying and already look like clear title winners – Albuon are in freefall and will be no match for the leagues beat side

Back Falkirk / Raith rovers double 13/10 (Bet365) (NAP)

    **************************

    Cheltenham v Wycombe

I tipped Wycombe midweek for goals and they didn’t disappoint running out 3-2 winners. In my write up i talked about Wycombe’s gung Ho mentality , they’ve conceded at least 2 goals in 4 of their last 5 games but still somehow managed to win those 4 games and that is down to their scoring exploits. Taking that to continue today

    Back over 2.5 goals 9/10

It was another good night for my Skybet specials with 12/1 French goals and 1/1 Dutch goals landing

    Morning all,

There is a real buzz around the Greens at the moment.

Plymouth Argle are in a great place at the moment and head to Oxford looking for revenge after getting pumped 4-0 last time they met.
Funny how football can change on the space of a few months. Oxford sacked their manger recently and have not yet replaced him.

How Argle are a massive 3.00 to win I don’t know. I can only presume the bookies are expecting the bubble to burst sooner rather than later.

I just can’t see it happening here.
Form is in Argles favour and with a sold out Green army away stand I see this being a good away day.

Ryan Taylor is playing up top and in scoring form. He plays his former employers here and we all know how that usually turns out.

    Ryan Taylor @3.25 ATGS.
    Plymouth win @3.00
    Plymouth over 2+ goals @2.37

They have no injury concerns and with the form Carey and Lamerias
are in there will be chances for Taylor.

    Hope this pans out.

    Good luck all.

Tough fixtures today to be sure, here’s some of what I’ve come up with today

    17:30 Schalke 04 vs Hoffenheim – Prediction 1.1

    Current Form

    * Schalke have seen BTTS in 7 of their last 10 home league matches including each of the last 4
    * Schalke have seen BTTS in 9 of their 10 league matches. 7 of those 9 also went over 2.5 goals
    * Schalke have scored at least 1 goal in 17 of their last 18 home league matches
    * Schalke have only won 3 of their last 9 home league matches
    * Schalke have lost 3 of their last 5 league matches
    * Hoffenheim have seen BTTTS in 17 of their last 20 away league matches including each of the last 4
    * Hoffenheim have seen BTTS in each of their last 6 league matches. 4 of those also went over 2.5 goals
    * Hoffenheim have won only 1 of their last 9 away league matches and none of the last 6
    * 3 points separate these two sides in the table
    * Both sides have taken only 11 points from their last 10 league matches
    * Schalke have drawn 4 of their last 8 at home in the Bundesliga
    * Hoffenheim have drawn 3 of their last 8 away from home in the Bundesliga

    Past Meetings

    * 7 of the last 10 meetings saw BTTS. 6 of those 7 went over 2.5 goals
    * 3 of the last 5 meetings in Schalke saw BTTS
    * Hoffenheim won 2.0 in their most recent meeting while last season’s corresponding fixture at Schalke finished 1.1

    Final Verdict

Perhaps the most entertaining fixture of the day in Germany comes from Gelsenkirchen as Schalke entertain rivals Hoffenheim with both sides still harbouring ambitions of finishing in the top 4 and the resultant Champions League positions.

I expect BTTS with Hoffenheim seeing that outcome in 85% of their away matches for over a year now and with Schalke seeing BTTS in 9 of their last 10 in the league as well, this selection looks as strong as any other in the market on Saturday.

BTTS @8/13 is the main selection here although it wouldn’t surprise me if this one went over 2.5 goals but I do also fancy a share of the spoils with neither side in top form and both drawing a fair number of their recent league matches.

    Best Bets

    BTTS @8/13 – 3.5 Stars
    Draw @5/2 – 1.5 Stars

    19:45 Genoa vs Inter – Prediction 1.0

    Current Form

    * Genoa have seen under 2.5 goals scored in 7 of their last 9 home league matches including 5 of the last 6
    *
    * Genoa have seen under 1.5 goals scored in 8 of their last 10 league matches
    * Genoa have seen under 2.5 goals scored in 12 of their last 14 league matches
    * Genoa have lost 7 of their last 11 home league matches although they have won 2 of their last 3
    * Genoa had won only 2 of their previous 19 home league matches
    * Inter have seen under 2.5 goals scored in 7 of their last 10 away league matches including each of the last 4
    * Inter failed to win any of their last 4 away league matches
    * Inter have seen under 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 7 league matches
    * Inter’s narrow 2.1 win over Bologna in their last league outing was there first win in 10 league matches
    * Genoa have taken 14 points in their last 9 league matches. Inter have taken only 9 points in the same period

    Past Meetings

    * 9 of the last 11 meetings have seen under 2.5 goals scored including each of their last 5 contests
    * Each of the last 5 matches between these two sides saw the home team winning to nil
    * Each of the last 9 matches between these two sides saw the home team win
    * 6 of the last 10 meetings saw under 1.5 goals scored
    * 6 of the last 7 meetings in Genoa saw under 1.5 goals scored
    * Genoa are unbeaten in their last 5 home league meetings with Inter, winning 4 and drawing 1

    Final Verdict

Current form and past meetings suggest we should be in for a low-scoring encounter in the late kick-off from Serie A this Saturday evening as Genoa host Inter with the visitors desperate for another 3 points having ended their winless streak at home to Bologna last weekend.

10 of the last 12 meetings between these two outfits have gone under 2.5 goals with matches in Genoa proving particularly tight with 6 of the last 7 in the Stadio Ferrari going under 1.5 goals and a similar outcome seems likely here with Inter struggling for form and both sides seeing low numbers in the goal departments in recent weeks.

Genoa’s last 4 home matches produced just 6 goals with Inter’s last 4 on the road seeing only 5 goals and when you factor in those past meetings, especially in Genoa, under 2.5 goals looks very likely @8/13 with under 1.5 goals @7/4 having a great chance.

A home win is big @12/5 but certainly has a chance with Genoa winning their last 4 home contests with Inter and given the away sides recent form, wouldn’t be entirely surprising with Inter really struggling in recent weeks.

Still, you expect Inter to have taken a big lift from their win over Bologna so picking a winner here is tough and for that reason, I’ll stick with the goal bets.

    Best Bets

    Under 2.5 goals @8/13 – 3 Stars
    Under 1.5 goals @7/4 – 1.5 Stars

Ok guys is anyone interested in some long shot odds? Now I know Mr Fixit and others aren’t too keen but sometimes I just get it lucky. One of the main things I check out for are the odds on goalscorers. They say the bookies are rarely wrong so when all the bookies offer roughly the same price for a player to score and one of them offer huge odds it sticks out like a sore thumb. Most of the time it doesn’t pay off but sometimes it does. I’ll give you an example and these are my selections.

    PSG VS STRASBOURG (SAT 4PM)

PSG are strong favourites at home and should
Win, however, Strasbourg are more than capable of scoring and did twice when the side last met, PSG winning 4-2. Looking for value I decided to look at a Strasbourg Goalscorer and Jean Eudes Aholou sticks out like a sore thumb. The midfielder has scored 4 goals in 24 games including First Goalscorer in their last games against Troyes. He’s a huge 90/1 for First Goalscorer yet as short as 22/1 and 25/1 with other bookies. For anytime he’s 20/1 and as short as 11/2 with other bookies.

    HAMILTON VS RANGERS (SUN 2:15PM)

Hamilton are playing at home and they too are more than capable of scoring against Rangers. Look at defender Giannis Skondras to score First at a huge 60/1. This is rather generous considering he’s around 18/1 elsewhere. To score anytime you can have 28/1 your money. This is some price considering he’s as short as 11/2 elsewhere. He has scored 3 goals in 20 appearances.

    Keep stakes small, for example:

    Aholou First Goalscorer @ 90/1
    Aholou Last Goalscorer @ 90/1
    Skondras First Goalscorer @ 60/1
    Skondras Last Goalscorer @ 60/1

    4 x £1 doubles
    (Each double returns 5550/1)

    I’d then do the following

    Aholou Anytime Goalscorer @ 20/1
    Skondras Anytime Goalscorer @ 28/1

    £1 Double returns 608/1

£5 well spent in my opinion for a bit of interest. Adjust stakes to whatever you wish to bet. My bets are on so hopefully a wee winner to pay off a holiday or two. If Aholou doesn’t score, meaning my bets are down, I’ll be limping of Skondras anytime as single.

    All prices are with 888sport

Good luck if you decide to get on.

    Preston v Wolves:

We’re flying at the moment and since our warm weather training camp (which was a lot more successful than our neighbours from West Bromwich seemed to manage).

However… Preston Away is a hard hard game and you have to go back to 2008 for the last time we won at deepdale. I think it was a Chris Iwelumo hat trick that day.

We’re taking 5600 travelling fans today so it’s gonna be some atmosphere.

Fancy us to win but think it’ll be close (last time I said it’d be close we beat Sheff Utd 3-0 though)

    Odds are decent today

    Wolves Win – 23/20
    Wolves 2+ goals – 11/8

2 points on each of the above for me. Don’t go mad on this though.

Well I said wolves would find Preston Away a hard place to go. Backed us to score 2 and also to win and both bets lost. We bossed it in the main and a Afobe should have scored with 5 mins left to bring both home.

On the 5 Ligue 1 games goal both halves at 33/1. Just that and the boxing left but when Preston went down to 10 men stuck £20 on Wolves -0.5 at 2.100 when X2 was only 8/11. Cashed out £37.80 straight away and fired the 2.80 on that wolves double. Hoping Lingard comes on and scores but he’ll probably come on for last 10 mins

Stjarnan vs Haukar – over 5.0 first half Asian corners ✅

    Italy Serie B 14:00
Virtus Entella vs Pescara – over 4.5 first half Asian corners ✅

    England League 2 15:00
Barnet vs Accrington Stanley – over 4.5 first half Asian corners ❌

    Italy Serie A 17:00
Chievo vs Cagliari – over 4.5 first half Asian corners ❌

    4-Fold 10.23/1 Bet365 LOST

Only 19 of the required 21 first half corners arrived with the latter two picks being the ones to let it down.

Absolutely buzzing for the Groves/Eubank Jr fight. Personally see too many flaws in Groves game especially leaving his left hand too low and not being comfortable with his back against the ropes. Eubank Jr has an incredible engine so I wouldn’t be surprised if his majorplan was to get in close and smother Groves, preferably against the ropes before unleashing viciou s combinations. Groves possesses fight ending power in his right but hes been in some wars over the years and his chin has been known to let him down on occasion. Can’t see the fight going the full 12 and I’m taking Eubank Jr via KO, TKO or disqualification 2/1 with Paddypower.
