IT was another day of near misses on Friday – in fact it's been a week of them.
I haven't done too much damage but the Super Single losses could do with addressing and that's my priority this weekend.
Last night I tried to find value in the PSG with the French champions and both to score but St Etienne couldn't find the target and on the the both to score treble Top Oss downed by keeping a clean sheet and that's rarer than a Conor McGregor sentence without the F word.
Talking of McGregor you can see the big fight free – if you can stay up long enough – through our offer with Ladbrokes so check it out.
I've posted Scottish and English previews where most of my picks are reasoned and make sure you take in the other tips and remember to have a look at the excellent German and Italian tips on the site in conjunction with unibet.
And also don't forget to check out the excellent previews and video tips at welovebetting.

ROCHDALE VS. BURY:
I’ve previewed a couple of Dale/Shakers derbies before and nothing much has changed – we haven’t won a league derby at Spotlands for ages and tge games are nearly always lowscorers.
The only bets I’d consider here are cards (no markets yet) and unders (hate backing but available at 11/8 with SKY.
Will probably see what prices are like for cards tomorrow and will post if any good.
Best of luck.
*no value on the booking markets but with no love lost between the two and a few ‘head the balls’ on the pitch I’ll go for a Red Card at 3/1

Double@12/5
So my sleep never went o plan, I went to bed later than I wanted and woke way way later than I wanted, anyway, every cloud has a silver lining:
Before I slept, I’d had PSG on my radar and was looking at Hull to do the biz, the only thing I kinda liked the look of for a shred of value in Paris was ht/ft win @ 4/11, and in hindsight, had I seen @hullshaker ‘s post about the injuries to the team, I’d of steered well clear. I did however compare the starting 11’s on both the last 2 Bolton teams and for Hull at league level – and formations.
Hull, well I took them in the end @ 3/4 again with betfair.
Woke up to a nice bank boost. I’ve just logged on to a healthy £529.03. Up on the previous day from £211.69.
I know that I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but Derby have now registered 3 wins on the bounce, 2 league matches and a workman like win against Grimsby with a very strong 2nd string side. All 2x 1 nils and a 2-1. Incidentally, Derby beat Sheff Utd home and away the season before last, both 1 nils. I think Derby also have a 1-1 and 2 more 1 nils wins on their stat sheet from the last 5x head to heads.
This looks like an unders 2.5 tmg’s, but with Derby’s new boy Tom Lawrence getting a good run out midweek, we could see him feature. With Nugent grabbing a 15 minute brace away to Bolton last week, clearly the service is getting to him and he’s slowly winning me over. So why change something that isn’t broken.
Sheffield as a city is and probably always will be a tough place for Derby to play at – much like away in the Capital, but, I’m seeing prices of between 15/8 and 9/5 ( betfair ) for a Derby win. That seems very generous. Either way, my pot won’t be going on the Derby win, too much at stake.
this match is 8/11 for unders 2.5 tmg’s incidentally with betfair
But as pointed out a few days ago by @mr-fixit and his ht/ft betting strategy, Derby look a great candidate for a ht draw/ft win @ 11/2 with betfair. Although we’ve tended to get off to a flier this past few league matches, Derby don’t usually find their feet until the 2nd half.
Not sure if i’ll be a wake when the whistle is blown but I may be around up to mid morning or so for your thoughts.
Finally, I saw our sites favourite team Top Oss in action last night. I did like the look of Volendam pre-kick off, much like Den Bosch and VVV , they usually do the biz for me, but Top Oss not scoring?? With Ferriby winning last week, football predictions really is ” pin he tail on a donkey “.
Good luck folks.

Getting a couple bets up now before the weekend debauchery. Rugby bets: Australia under 17.5 points 8/11. Beauden Barrett to score a try 10/11. Double: Argentina to win either half & NZ/NZ (Half-time/full-time). 10/11. South Africa under 29.5 points 5/6 (bet365).
Now for the big one…..May-Mac! Whether you like it or not its the biggest sporting event of the year & probably the biggest combat event of our lifetime! I would love to see Conor smash Floyd but you just can’t see it happening. I can see the ref stepping in as Conor will be gassed after chasing Floyd around & eating constant jabs. Let’s be real, if this was MMA rules (a real fight) then Conor would destroy him in less than a minute so if Conor takes this to a decision then it’s a huge knock on Floyd & boxing itself.
Everyone knows their respective records but the fact that Miguel Cotto had the same odds Conor is getting is just mental! Bookies have clearly bought into Conor & the possibility of a knock-out. Anything can happen but you gotta jump on Floyd at whatever odds you can get. I’m on Floyd via TKO AT 15/8 and also mentioned this on the site weeks back that I got Mayweather via KO/TKO/DQ at 4/5 (bet365).. You can still get 7/10 & even 4/17 for him just to win which would be awesome to double up with something. It’s finally here and it’s gonna be madness so enjoy it!

Well done to yesterday’s winners, were some good ones
High-flying Ipswich 12/5 with Coral to do lowly Fulham? This increases the Top Tips acca odds enormously. At those odds I’m on the home win single as well. What am I missing? McGoldrick is possibly an absent striker for Ipswich, and recent head to heads between the two have gone in Fulham’s favour three times. But 12/5?
And Ipswich at home, too.
I think McGoldricks best days are about 4 years back, he’d need a time machine to reach his level of play he achieved at his peak.
Ipswich are a huge price considering how the teams have started the season.
With Garner and Waghorn scoring they don’t need McGoldrick and in midweek they made 11 changes.

Conspiracy Theory: Who is the main promoter of tonight’s fight? Mayweather Which of the two sports has at least one pay per view a month? UFC. Which of the two sports is growing hugely around the world? UFC. Maybe MacGregor will end up being promoted by Mayweather in the future.
Anyone with a clue about Scottish footie think of reasons for or against going for an Aberdeen win? Just looking at the last 5, Partick have lost all 5 on the bounce.
Can’t see pass a dons victory. GL
Aberdeen should win but I don’t like backing them away from home at odds on.
Thistle are better than their position suggests and pitch will be heavy after a week of rain in Glasgow.
Thistle are better than price but were rotten v Celtic they will have to come out the blocks.
I am going for penalties in the early EPL match
B/mouth to score one 12/1. miss one 33/1 bet365
City score one 9/1. miss one 28/1 skybet.
I think sky have priced this one up wrong as bet365 are offering 10/3 City to score one. 10/1 to miss one.
I think these odds might change . Got to be worth a small punt.
Not often you see this but 4 of the 5 English Division leaders are home today. Chuck in 2 out of the 4 Scotish League leaders at home & you get a 14/1 sixfold

Morning all
Shall have a look at early matches
Sagan Tosu – Gamba Osaka
Away team cannot be underestimated but they lack form of late.
The hosts however are on great form and are above 3. odds to take all three points. I shall approach with caution and play AH +1 for them to win as the main bet but also take AH 0 and them to win at reduced stake .
Sagan Tuso +1 AH
Nagoya Grampus Eight – Yokohama FC
In this game there should be some goals but am going to focus majorly on the home side to take three points out of it and score some goals in the process. They are in great success of scoring multiple of late so I hope they don’t dissapoint. For them to find the back of the net even more than 3 times should be possible but I shall take them to score 2. Shall also be more ambitious and take them to score over 2.5 goals as a side bet
Nagoya Grampus over 1.5tgs
Tokushima Vortis – Montedio Yamagata
another potential for goals is this game where it is supported by recent meetings between the two. Every team is capable of hitting a goal or 2 so I shall be vicious to go against the bookies who have ov 2.5 goals to above evens.I shall also go for over 3.5
Tokushima Vortis over 2.5 mgs
Seoul E-Land FC – Gyeongnam FC
The final game of the morning has to be this.I sure think the away should take the show here. Last time I took then to score goals and I don’t suppose I shall lose by backing them again. The should get goals here and so can the hosts.Btts here is attractive and a very good bet. I shall gave multiple selections and I must admit it is really hard to get a main one here. over 3.5 mgs should be a good call so will stick with that. Shall go for ov 2.5 tgs for the away team they don’t frustrate. over 4.5 mgs should be at small stake.
Btts and ov 2 5

It’s Scotland for goals again for me

Crystal Palace v Swansea
This is exactly the type of match palace need to get their season up and running – at home to a team who will likely be in the bottom three come May. Palace earned a much needed morale boosting cup win during the week and welcome a Swansea side who despite holding their own for much of the game against United last week, crumbled in the last 10 minutes. Taking palace to edge this
Back Palace to win 1/1

Tried to add a write up on the Wolves today.
Bottom line is I fancy us to get the win.
Brentford are a good side who play some football and this is what gives us a chance.
Last week our opponents didn’t want to play football and it was a scrappy disjointed affair. We will learn from that.
This week I can see a good open game and think we will likely have too much for Brentford.
No disrespect to the bees though as I think they are far far better than there league position.
You get the feeling that 1 week it’s gonna click and we will destroy a team… not this week though.
2nd string did well in the week and lots of competition for places.
Expect an unchanged side again though
…
Wolves win
Wolves 2+ goals
Wolves & BTTS
I’ve been having really good success with my main bet/long shot bet strategy. If the main bet wins, its profit and if the long shot wins, its still profit. Sure, there will be weeks when both lose but also when both win so I will definitely keep at them.

Ok, so I have my bet placed and I’ve gone for a double.
Aberdeen win @ 3/4
Derby over 0.5 goals 3/10
All going well, £10 should be returning £22.75 with betfair.
I don’t know why Aberdeen are so big in price, they’re leaps ahead of where Partick are, Partick are dreadful. Not just in the league as a whole, but in particular – against Aberdeen.
I’ve played it safe on my own team Derby. The price for the rams to win has dropped from 15/8 to 9/5 to 13/8 with most firms. We’ve had 2 league wins and a cup re-run round all go our way from the last 3 and this match will be the third away match on the bounce. Sheff Utd were beaten twice in the league 1 nil by the rams in the season before last ( no results from last year as they were in a division below us ), prior to that, a 1-1 and I wrongly stated the previous time we’d played them, we’d beaten them 1 nils again. I must of had my beer goggles on when I did my stat checking last night, the rams actually lost to Sheff Utd 1 nil twice. Apologies if any confusion.
With 4x 1 nils and a 1-1, this match has the making of an unders 2.5 tmgs. @ around 8/11, it looks good on paper, but I wouldn’t throw my shirt on to that. Nugent scored twice a week ago and he’s keeping Chris Martin on the bench. The Tuesday match saw 10 of 11 players rested with just Vydra keeping his place in an ad-hoc 4-4-2 for the 1 nil win against Grimsby.
I expect us to go back to the 4-2-3-1 today but if I was picking the starting 11, Derby’s new winger would be starting ahead of Johnny Russell who last played a week ago. His performance was a bit better than the 2 average performances he’d had in the league, but Russell out and Lawrence in would be my only change to the starting 11.
A Derby double result is around 4/9 with most bookies and represents good value to drop into a little acca.
If I’m awake long enough for team news and formation, I shall post around 2pm.
Just a tiny bit on the big fight tonight, I am team Connor tonight, I really hope the foul mouthed Irishman batters the gobshite Yank and leaves the Mayweather camp with a headache that they’ll never get rid of. I really can’t see it though. A UFC fighter in a boxing ring against an opponent that’s spent 20 years fighting with these boxing rules will just jab him for 12 rounds is about as much as we’ll probably see tonight. Manny Pacquiao is an up close and personal fighter and Mayweather knew if Pacquiao could get in his face, it would be game over for the bigmouthed Yank. In truth, he never got close to Mayweather, Mayweather just jabbed him to death and it became a boxing match that was as boring as watching paint dry. Mayweather will tackle this match the same as against Pacquiao. It gets the job done. Shame, because every man and his dog wants to see Mayweather on his ar*e.
I feel Connor could well be docked a point tonight, maybe even disqualified. I just think he’ll forget where he is, and his UFC fighting instincts will kick in. Betfair we’re showing odds of 6/5 for the Irishman to get a points deduction. I believe it is highly likely.
Apart from that, lets smash the bookies bottom line today, so good luck with your bets.
Aberdeen are not a big price – no Scottish team except Celtic should be odds on away from home.
As I’ve said they should win but I hate backing them odds on away.
WBA Regular Light Heavyweight Championship 27/8/17 02:00
Nathan Cleverly vs Badou Jack
Former WBC Super Middleweight Champion Badou Jack is making his debut at 175 lbs tonight by taking on champion Nathan Cleverly for the WBA Regular title on the Mayweather McGregor undercard from Las Vegas in the earlier hours of Sunday Morning. Although it’s Jack’s debut at the weight it’s a fight that I see him winning comfortably.
As the saying in boxing goes “you’re only as good as your last fight” so lets look at each fighter’s last bout. Nathan Cleverly ten months ago was in against an arguably over the hill Jurgen Brahmer (WBA Regular Champion at the time) and after a promising first two rounds for the challenger Brahmer was able to successfully read and time him. The fight ended abruptly at the end of the sixth through a Brahmer retirement due to a dislocated elbow so Cleverly became the new Champion by default but its worth noting that all three of the judges had it scored 58-56 to Brahmer at that point and Cleverly was getting hit with increasing regularity into the fight. Badou Jack’s last fight was a unification clash against James Degale at Super Middleweight, with the winner looking to add the other fighter’s title to their collection. After a flash knock down in round one where he clearly wasn’t hurt but off balance, Jack grew into the fight and scored a knock down himself in the twelfth. Jack demonstrated many good boxing attributes in the fight, often taking control of the ring and applying high amounts of pressure on IBF Champion Degale whose mobility had dropped off significantly due to a high volume of body shots and an ever increasing work-rate from the WBC champion. The fight went the distance and was called a majority draw by by the three judges although many boxers, fans and writers saw Jack as the victor. Both fighters retained their titles on the night and not long after Jack vacated the WBC belt to ply his trade in the 175 lbs division.
Badou Jack is a very technically solid fighter. He has an excellent high guard defence so is often able to come forward and apply pressure on opponents. His alias is not “The Ripper” for nothing also – a key ingredient in his arsenal is the body shot which he uses to grind down competitors with to the point where their stamina and mobility suffers often providing openings for head attacks. Its just very efficient and machine like at times. He’s also a decent puncher having floored current WBA Super middleweight Champion George Groves and IBF Champion James Degale as touched on. Nathan Cleverly’s main attributes are his toughness and work-rate in fights although when he is up against superior world class opposition they’ve not always been enough to get him over the line.
I don’t see the fight going the distance. Jack has been showing improvements with every fight he has had and in the unification fight with Degale showed a strong desire to become a new champion, which I believe he’ll display tonight. I see him systematically breaking Cleverly down with body shots until he either knocks him out or the referee halts a sustained attack. Although it is at a new weight I just cant see Cleverly bringing any threat to the former Olympian so I’ll be on two bets:
Will fight go the distance? – no 2/1 Unibet Ladbrokes Coral
Method of Victory – Badou Jack by KO TKO or disqualification 3/1 Skybet WH PP Betfair
Good luck all

Mr F. I received a notification through from William Hill today regarding their price boost. The message appeared in my inbox on the WH app. However when I place a bet the option to ‘boost’ is not offered- I spoke to them on live chat and they required a screenshot of the message which I duly gave them.
This was not enough for them as my username and account number were not visible on the screenshot. This is not surprising as that information is not visible when using the app.
I told the agent all of this and to me it appears to be a completely bogus offer.
Has anyone else had this issue with Hills?
I don’t use their app but if you email the full details to mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk I’ll bring it up with them.
They don’t do “bogus” offers though – it would simply hurt their reputation too much and cost them too.

Sorry, not football but certainly a Night Owl!
MAYWEATHER VS. MCGREGOR:
I wouldn’t even class boxing and MMA as two seperate disicplines; they are completely different sports – as unalike (or similar) as football and rugby.
Mcgregor can fight – he can throw a devastating left – but he cannot box or at least box in the same universe as someone of Mayweather’s calibre…you just can’t learn that whole skill-set in 6 months.
He’s tough for sure but he’s going to be punched with speed, power (and here’s the key) accuracy like nothing he’s come across before.
There is a world of difference between the way your brain copes with a series of deadlegs, chokes and haymakers and it’s absolute inability to function under rapid-fire precision punches snapping the neck back at fractional speeds before moving to the solar plexus.
Two selections worth considering:
MAYWEATHER KO/TKO/DQ…8/11
?????
MCGREGOR TO LAND LESS THAN 30 PUNCHES…6/5
??
Best of luck.
*Sorry, both with SKYBET and first pick is 4/6.

Derby team news:
10 changes from the side that beat Grimsby but no change from the side that beat Bolton last week. Why fix something that isn’t broken. I am surprised Russell has not been left out in favour of Tom Lawrence but Russell did up his game against Bolton last week – maybe having Tom Lawrence chasing him for his place in the starting 11 has put a rocket up his backside.
Carson
Wisdom/Davis/Keogh/Olsson
Huddlestone/Johnson
Russell/Vydra/Weimann
Nugent
Derby’s price is not exactly in free-fall but there’s some money going on the rams. 15/8, then 9/5, then 13/8 and now hovering around 33/20. ( where do the bookies get these numbers from ). We’ve won our last 2 league matches and going for a third. Whilst Sheff Utd had a great start to the season, they have dropped points recently.
Weimann getting regular football is doing a great job on the left wing, certainly playing his best footie since he joined from Villa, Vydra seems to be relishing his spot in the middle of the pitch in an attacking role and Nugent has scored 6 goals from his last 7 league matches for the rams. Huddlestone is starting to show it was a shrewd move to sign him, he’s doing a good job with Johnson policing the middle of the pitch and the back 4 seem to be gelling nicely playing in front of our player of the season Carson.
I’m quietly confident of a rams victory, but Sheff Utd are 9 games unbeaten at home.
My double involving Derby is basically for us to score and an Aberdeen win. I’ve simplified that bet because I have some decent money on it.
I also dipped my toe in a speculative lucky 15. £4 a pop.
Wolves @ 7/4
Ipswich @ 5/2
Derby ht draw/ ft win @ 5/1
Hamilton @ 2/1
0 wins, I lose £60. 1 winner, I lose £35 – £50 or so; 2 winners, I lose £15 or so, 3 winners, I could be up a few hundred quid; all 4 winners and I’ll be on cloud 9. The lucky 15 is really a bet for fun, I’ve deliberately gone for bigger prices rather than safety.

Moton v Livi 0-1 Beats me for a 18/1 acca and a 31/1 acca . AARGH
Let down by the North East contingent this afternoon after a cracking start with Bury’s red card at 3/1.
First, the Monkey Hangers let me down by not netting against Fylde then Darlo who scored in the 9th but then blanked downing the treble (8/9 goals in) and team goals shout.
Well done all winners.

Nurnberg to score 2+ was to be my main bet for this weekend before they decided to sell Abdelhamid Sabiri to Huddersfield and I’d like to see how they cope without their best player first before putting any money on them.
There isn’t much else I fancy over in Austria/Germany so I’m going for a small stake ‘double your money’ treble..

Night Owl…
WILSTERMANN VS. SAN JOSÉ (2215 KO):
Rare as rocking horse sh*t for me to back WDW on anything in SA but this price is just too big and I assume has been priced strictly on the last 2 meetings which saw a draw and a win for San Jose as there appears to be little change in team news or personnell.
Aside from a few draws, it’s been a dim outlook for the visitors who sit just above bottom place and head in to this meeting on the back of 3 back to back losses and just one win in 9 – more notably here is the fact that of their last 9 AWAY games…they have lost or drawn all but 1.
Wilstermann have surprised this season but they haven’t let it slip and sit a comfortable top placed
after 5 games comprising 4 wins and 1 draw…they have scored an impressive 15 goals in that spell giving an average of 3 goals per game.
I would have priced the home side somewhere in the region of 8/13 on so not going to turn my nose up at 365s price:
WILSTERMANN WIN…10/11
????
Good luck.

Mc Gregor v mayweather draw 70-1.
£1 on for a laugh as mc Gregor had zero chance in this charade.
These two have committed a robbery akin to the brinks matt, in that they have manipulated the press with hype to earn themselves a fortune, and people are paying for it expecting a proper fight between a 40 year old great who retired 2 years ago, and his opponent who comes from an alleged sport for people who are not good enough at boxing or martial arts to find a niche in life.
Then to rub punters faces in it they call the belt, the money belt, he he.
Good luck to them and goodbye to my £1 .
mc Gregor will probably do a Tyson and eat some part of mayweathers anatomy but can’t find odds for that.
“mc Gregor will probably do a Tyson and eat some part of mayweathers anatomy but can’t find odds for that”
Have you checked on Bovada they have some crazy lines for the fight?
I’m not sure anyone’s falling for it. No one I know thinks McGregor has a chance unless he uses his feet.
I won’t be watching but I’m interested in seeing how McGregor approaches it.

Vila Nova vs ABC –> 1pt on VILA NOVA TO WIN & UNDER 2.5 Goals @ 3.50
I cannot see Vila Nova losing this. They are at full strenght against a team with several missing players and no manager (fired a few days ago). The home supporters will be at the stadium now after a 4-games sanction.
Good luck to all!
Single win @ approx. 1.75 odds also an option if you want to risk less
the match is 2×0 with 15-20 min to go…can be covered now for a healthy profit (2,70 rather than the original 3,50) backing over 2.5 goals.
**WON**
A smaller profit for me though, as I covered it in-play and earned a 2.70 return, rather than 3.50
The second Vila Nova goal came in too soon…I decided not to risk it fully until the end of the match.
If anyone’s on goals tip 2, cover is available at 7/1 for u1.5 mgs for Roma v inter.

@philwindy sorry mate, not much notice. Fancied goals pre match but missed kickoff. Price was there at ht with being 1-0
Good stuff David ?
CORINTHIANS VS. ATLÉTICO GO (2300 KO):
Corinthians look like they should nail bottom side Go here but scratch around a bit and there’s little value – my ‘go-to’ bet in such games (Over 1.5 TGs) offers a measly 4/7 and there’s no way I’m backing 3 or more team goals in Serie A.
Corners appeal but with the line set at 11+ and paying 5/4, again it’s too much risk for a team that average just 9.5 odd corners at home.
One thing I have noticed is the top sides like Corinthians penchant for applying maximum pressure, getting an early goal and sitting on the lead for 90 minutes in the top-flight and I reckon that’s where the value lies here – especially considering that, on average, the hosts have seen 1 or more 1st half goal in over 62% of their games this campaign.
One selection:
CORINTHIANS GOAL BEFORE 37’…5/6
???
Best of luck ?
Ouch. 0-1 final score. Shocker ?
