IT was a busy night but with so many shorties it was difficult finding value – as I said the fivefold on the EFL Cup favourites paid just 6-4 but did land.
I raised the stakes to 8-1 with Everton -1, Roma -1, Chelsea -1 and Man United -2 and it landed pretty easily.
I also put up a moneyback fivefold and that won at 7-2 with Sevilla edging out Las Palmas late on.
It was a different story with the Super Singles as Paulo Dybala failed to score for Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo missed out as Real Madrid missed a pile of chances and were beaten at home a last-minute winner by Real Betis.
Well done to all the winners including Jordan with Roma -1.5 – I also took Roma on the handicaps to keep alive the Betting Club bet.
It's quieter tonight with the focus on Motherwell v Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup, three games in La Liga and other cup clashes across the Continent.

Think Racing 92 last season or the footballing equivalent of Chelsea two seasons ago. One huge match for me tonight in the Copa Libertadores. This is the second leg, hosted in Argentina, after Wilstermann beat River 3-0 in the opening leg in Bolivia. Altitude played a heavy part in the Bolivian leg, but it means the Argentine side need to attack from the whistle to overturn a 3 goal deficit.
Wilstermann have never made it this far in the competition before, and they looked very nervous in their home leg, with River looking dangerous numerous times, but wasting their chances. So Bayonne are favourites in this and as i’ve said before, that is due to the fact that generally in the French leagues teams tend to always perform well at home. Both teams were relegated from the Top14 last year, although Grenoble have been the team looking as to bounce straight back up with 4 wins and 1 loss compared with Bayonne’s 2 wins and 3 losses. In Grenoble’s last 5 matches, they have managed to score 3-4-2-2-3 tries. Looking at Bayonne’s last 2 home matches they conceded 2 tries in each…however these were against weaker opposition than Grenoble (US Dax and Beziers). Cementing my bet is the fact that looking at the last 3 H2Hs, all have been high scorers (78-60-75 points). In those matches Grenoble have managed 4-5-3 tries (two of those being the visitors). Overall Grenoble should want to keep their momentum going against the team that joined them in the drop last year, and prove why they should bounce straight back up. Weather seems ok and i see no reason why 3 tries shouldn’t be on the cards at decent odds.

Grenoble as i thought were impressive and managed to win the game, scoring 26 points in the process, including 2 early tries in the 1st half….and then every single god dam penalty they would go for 3 pointers (and missed most of them).
