Few would have predicted that tonight's clash at Old Trafford would see bottom of the table hosting 15th placed but that's where Man Utd and Liverpool find themselves two matches into the season.

Afternoon Erlendsen – thing to remember with form is that it comes and goes for us all! Trying to be as consistent as possible is the aim but if it were that easy, we’d all be rich!
Re selecting games, I’ve talked about this before and there’s no substitute for familiarisation with as many leagues as possible. Sad as it may sound, I immersed myself in the South American and Nordic leagues around 10 years ago along with keeping a close eye on the lower UK domestic leagues which were my betting bread and butter for years.
Over time you build up a great picture of different sides, trends,stats and quirks which then make for a more informed judgement when you are looking at market angles and prices from bookies for particular leagues,clubs and games.
I’ve been posting on the site for 9 maybe 10 years now and for around 7 of those years I spent a lot more time writing up games and justifying reasoning which I found helped shape my own thinking. I rarely have the time to write up like I used to due to work and family committments but I do exactly the same level of research and thinking behind bets as I used to back then.
I guess the process has sped up over time and that familiarisation I talked about helps eliminate and choose selections and sometimes find little chinks in the bookmakers pricing armoury!
Exposure to other site members bets and styles has also hugely influenced how I think as well – there’s a lot of footballing expertise on here and genuine unbiased information is like betting gold dust.

An obvious comment which may be useful to some “newbies”.
A few bookies are giving free “bet builder” bets for tonight’s match. If you’re planning to include any player-specific markets (e.g. player carded, player to score etc) it’s wise to wait for team news an hour before the match starts to make sure your player is starting the match.
With bet365, if one part of a 4 part bet builder is void (e.g. because a player doesn’t play) but the other 3 parts all win, bet365 will VOID the ENTIRE bet.
In contrast, most other bookies will simply void the affected part and pay out the bet based on the 3 remaining winning parts.

Head to head stats not great for this as they haven’t met for 3 years so it’s based on match situation and gut feeling , hence just the * NAP.
Both these lost their first games last week and both will struggle to avoid relegation this season.
Girona finished 6th in liga 2 and somehow won 3-1 at Tenerife in the play off to gain promotion.
Getafe somehow survived last season, luckily there were more shit teams than usual in la Liga last season.
There have been 4 head to head here in the past and 3 saw BTTS and girona scored in all 4.

United played particularly well – mainly because the smart Manager decided to keep the petulant child on the bench for the majority of the match. As a result, the team played as a team – instead of the usual collection of individuals trying to “feed” a goal-hanging crybaby who falls over at the first opportunity.
As for Liverpool, they just got caught on the hop and didn’t refocus until very late on in the match. Another 10 minutes, and I’m sure they would’ve equalised & maybe even won.
