Turkish Cup Final, Ankara, Wednesday, 6.45pm

IT'S been a season of ups and downs for Fenerbahce who finished second to Galatasaray in the league and missed reaching the Europa League final with a last-four defeat to Benfica.

However, they still have a chance of landing silverware as they defend their Turkish Cup against Trabzonspor at Ankara on Wednesday.

Both teams are in similar form but Fenerbahce will be without banned keeper Volkan Demirel while Trabzon have no absences.

In the league this season the sides drew 0-0 in Istanbul but Fenerbahce were convincing 3-0 winners away and I'm convinced they will once again overpower their opponents in the showpiece final.

Fener have won five and drawn two of the last five meetings and it's a mental barrier their opponents will struggle to overcome.

I like the look of the favourites at 1-1 with Titanbet while Trabzon are 5-2 with the draw 11-5.

The first three favourites in the first-score market are Fener forwards and all three are familiar especially to those punters who followed their Europa League exploits.

Moussa Sow is favourite at a best 9-2 with Skybet and others while ex-Liverpool ace Dirk Kuyt is 13-2 with the same firm. But the man I'll be on sits in between those at 6-1 with Skybet and that's Pierre Webo.

The Cameroon star has netted seven times this season but crucially four have come in his last three games. He netted in the semi-final against Eskisehirspor that finished 1-1 and went to penalties and also hit a double in the 2-1 win against champions Galatasaray.

So Webo's the man in form and is 7-4 with Skybet to net at any time.

Trabzon are a strong team at home and with this being a neural venue, another reason to back Fenerbache :)

Greg, form, stats etc suggest Fener are a good thing but we know strange things sometimes happen in cup finals. I’m doing them as a single and Webo to score and possibly first but may also try Kuyt to score because I remember him as being a big-game performer when he was at Anfield.

Yeah, will be on them too Paul, I don’t normally do goal scorers but you’ve got a pretty impressive success rate with them so will give it a go! :)

Kuyt loved an important goal at Liverpool, never the most gifted player but loads of energy and determination about him!

Find it rather strange that Skybet are not pricing up kuyt for first goal but only anytime. They’ve priced every other player. Maybe it’s best to wait for team news first guys.

Cris, re Skybet and Kuyt it must be a mistake on the site. I saw prices quoted. If you want on with them give them a call.
