ABERDEEN look just about as solid a 3/4 shot as you're likely to get when they welcome St Johnstone to Pittodrie on Saturday.

Saints' problems have been well documented after their disastrous defence of the Scottish Cup fell at the first hurdle at the hands of League Two side Kelty Hearts.

Aberdeen hardly impressed themselves when timidly collapsing to midweek defeat at St Mirren. Aberdeen have had a fair from smooth first full season under Stephen Glass and there remains plenty of their fans far from convinced with the manager.

However, they seem to be heading in the right direction and are particularly strong at Pittodrie where they seem to play far better than on their travels.

They've won six of their last eight games at home with the exception being an off day at home to Motherwell and a draw with Rangers last week which they really should have won.

It might have been expected that the Dons would go off shorter than the price they are at, but it looks a good thing.

Backing a team that are seemingly doomed may not always seem the best idea, but COWDENBEATH look far too big at 14/5 to win at odds-on Albion Rovers.

The Blue Brazil are approaching that final pint in last chance saloon as they are nine points adrift of the Coatbridge side at the bottom of League Two. A win at Cliftonhill is imperative.

But they have picked up under Maurice Ross and recently won away at Stenhousemuir. They were unlucky last week to lose a late goal to Stranraer.

Rovers have themselves won just once in their last eight games and look far too short at odds-on to win such a six-pointer.
And the Fifers can give themselves a glimmer of hope with the three points.

PETERHEAD required penalty kicks to avoid a shock last week at home to Lowland League outfit East Kilbride, but they can become the latest side to put the boot into East Fife in League One.

Jim McInally's side have only lost two of their last nine games and they were against champions elect Cove Rangers and high-flying Montrose.

But they are playing an East Fife side who looked doomed after five defeats in a row where they have failed to score in the last four and they are on a run of 11 games without a win.

And the 29/20 for a Blue Toon win seems fair.
