Mark Walker's Scottish Tips

Aberdeen have endured a nightmare start to the season, but they can kickstart their season by beating Livingston at Pittodrie at a stand-out evens.

The Dons enjoyed a fantastic summer basking in the glory of ending their 35-year wait for a Scottish Cup triumph when they famously beat Celtic on penalties at Hampden.

But that seems like a long time ago after a miserable start to the season, which has seen them open their Premiership campaign with three defeats and a failure to score a goal. They even lost at home to Falkirk in their last game.

They also crashed out of the Europa League after a 3-0 defeat in Romania to Steaua Bucharest.

However, in those last two defeats, they were reduced to ten men in the first half and their previous two losses were at high-flying Hearts and at home to champions Celtic.

And they made a real statement of intent on deadline day by snapping up Swedish international winger Jesper Karlsson and last season's top scorer Kevin Nisbet again. They followed that up by signing Scotland's Stuart Armstrong on a free and all three would walk into any Premiership team outside the Old Firm.

And McBookie.com's evens against a limited Livingston side looks a real steal.

Spartans look a solid bet at 17/20 with McBookie.com to collect the points at Stranraer.

The capital side are neck and neck with big-spending East Kilbride at the top of League Two and are going along nicely after three wins in a row in the league against Clyde, Forfar Athletic and Annan Athletic and they walloped Hibs B in the Challenge Cup for good measure.

In contrast, Stranraer have collected just a solitary point from their five league games this season and only Edinburgh City's points deduction is keeping them off the foot of the table.

St Mirren have been backed from 15/4 into 19/10 with McBookie.com to win at Falkirk and that's not a big surprise.

Stephen Robinson's side look set for another strong season after three top six finishes in a row and they have already drawn with Rangers and Hibs this season and knocked Hearts out of the League Cup.

Yes, Falkirk did get their first win at Aberdeen before the break but they were up against ten men for most of the game and it's hard to see why the newly-promoted Bairns started off such stong favourites this week.
