Last Player Standing is a betting competition where a group of people each put in a stake and predict one team to win in a competition each week.
If that team wins, they progress into the next round, if they draw or lose, they are eliminated.
Each team can only be picked once throughout the game; e.g. if you pick Liverpool to win in week one, you cannot pick them again during that edition of Last Player Standing.
The goal is to be the final player left at the end of it all. The winner takes the full pot.
This weekend, West Ham could climb out of the bottom three with a win away at Newcastle, while Arsenal will look to extend their lead at the top of the table by beating already relegated Burnley on Monday night.
This week’s best Last Player Standing tip: Arsenal
Arsenal can put one hand on the Premier League trophy by putting Burnley to the sword at the Emirates on Monday night.
The Gunners head into their penultimate Premier League fixture of the season two points clear of Manchester City and could extend that advantage to five – at least temporarily – ahead of the Citizens’ tricky trip to Bournemouth.
Mikel Arteta’s side have won each of their last three Premier League matches and should make light work of a Burnley team already relegated and with little left to play for.
The Clarets have won just one of their last 24 Premier League matches, and Monday night could prove to be little more than a damage-limitation exercise against title-chasing Arsenal in the capital.
MFT’s top Last Player Standing pick: Manchester United
Manchester United have been strong operators at Old Trafford under Michael Carrick’s stewardship, and they can bring the curtain down on the Theatre of Dreams for the final time this season by defeating Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Carrick has guided the Red Devils to seven wins from eight at Old Trafford since the turn of the year. During that run, United have seen off the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool, and their superior quality should tell against Nottingham Forest here.
Now out of the Europa League and with Premier League survival already secured, the Tricky Trees could have one eye on the beach. On top of that, Forest arrive at Old Trafford with a fairly lengthy injury list, which only strengthens the case for a home victory.
