GREG'S beloved St Johnstone begin their Europa League campaign tonight and he's backing them to start in style.
He says: “Europea League time again and dozens of matches to have a look at:
St Johnstone v Trakai (7.45pm)
I’ll be at McDiarmid park for this one to watch my beloved Saints. This is our 5th season in Europe in 6 years and that experience should help is overcome the Lithuanian side. A 1-0 or 2-0 win for us. This team are no mugs but I fully expect us to take a lead into the away leg next week.
Ferencvaros v Jelgava (5.45pm)
The hosts had a decent season last year and are seasoned European regulars. They don’t lose many at home and although their season hasn’t started yet they should be to strong for an average Latvian side.
Back St Johnstone and Ferencvaros double 11-10 ( Bet365) (NAP)
Should see some goals in tonight’s matches with some real mismatches in terms of quality.
Picked out 5 games:
Haugesund
Odd
Norrkoping
Red star Belgrade
Lech Poznan
Back over 2.5 match goals 9-2
Taken Haugsend, Odd and Poznan at 2/1 with coral. The others don’t appear to be listed at the moment. But that’ll do me just fine. Good luck, Greg.
Good luck tonight Greg, need all Scottish teams to do well & get the coefficient back up a bit!
You heading over to the away leg? I’m booked up for Lithuania end of August for the Scotland game & looking forward to it. Hoping to catch a European away day with Aberdeen this season after missing out the last few years due to my rota! Away with work for the 2nd round away game, so hopefully we progress & I’ll manage to get one in!
Cheers Greg. Am really hoping Belgrade comes in now for your fivefold.
Cheers Stagger
Bitterly disappointed with our result! Trakai were excellent and played some cracking stuffy
You could tell it was our first game of the season and their 18th
Big ask for is to qualify now :(
@al1903 how’s it going sir?
Yeah booked up mate – Doncaster to Vilnius! Looking forward to it but last night has out a real dampener on it!
Hopefully you manage a Dons trip, be good to see them go far!
