IT finally came right for Ellis at the snooker yesterday as he back the two semi-final winners. Aussie Neil Robertson and Scot John Higgins were both hot favourites but results in China haven't been going as expected.

We'll see what Ellis has to say about the final but I'll be backing Higgins who has looked in good form.

The day started well with the Lions, backed heavily to win the first Test, just edging out Australia and they look set for a series win.

We're just about at the start of Wimbledon so any thoughts on that or any other sport this is the place for them.

Right to start off guys £10 to £100,000 will be up later

In terms of the snooker I cannot go against my ore tournament outright in robbo and I have to sit on the fence on this one. In terms of value Higgins is outstanding value and I would make him favourite. He won the last ranking tournament and has gone through this tournament with ease, his new cue really is doing wonders for him. On current form he should fly through and he is good value for this match. Over long distance robbo could have the edge and I wouldn’t back against him with him being my pre tournament outright (if I feel nervous in the morning I may cover with £100) on Higgins

This game really is the flip of a coin

    Coldasice was warm-as-piss yesterday!

After a very good week, tonight wasn’t so great with Japan letting me and I would imagine a fair few other punters on here down. Small covering bet on Mexico and Brazil -1 so not a complete disaster.

    Wimbledon

Don’t know what anyone else thinks but i’m tempted with Djokovic outright (5/4) as he has by far the easiest draw and wants to get a slam back under his belt. Can’t see the Fed (8/1) beating potentially the other top 3 back to back to defend his title, and and I think Nadal (5/1) might have Murrays (16/5) number then get beat off the serb himself.

    Anyone see past Djokovic?

Not much value unless you ‘lump then lay’!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

coldasice, I’d just about rule out Fed now too and the draw’s tough on Nadal. Could be a Murray-Djokovic final and if the crowd really get behind you never know.

    • coldasice 11 years ago

Yeah Murray’s definitely got a chance but hasn’t the best h2h against Rafa, although I will admit he probably has a better chance of beating the Djoker in the Final if he gets there than Nadal does.

There’s been lots of sets dropped in the short grass season we’ve had so far at Queens, Eastbourne and Halle by the top players, so i’m expecting a fairly promising Wimbledon with the over 3.5 sets market once it gets going.

Can’t seem to find a decent handicap market for Uruguay tomorrow, bookies must be wary after the Spanish attack, I’ll certainly be on Suarez hat trick tho – has to be a safe bet surely.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

coldasice, best I can see is 4-5 with Paddy Power -7 and that’s not giving much away.

    • coldasice 11 years ago

Complete lottery really as to final score but -7 should be safe even if it is at a very stingy 4/5, that and Suarez hat trick at 6/5 will be my bets I think.

In terms of value and where I see the future of tennis going, I will be backing Nadal (he needs this massive) he wants world number 1 again

  8. jasper 11 years ago

Hewitt v wawrinka will go to 5 sets
will be worth backing 3-2 for either player

  9. Ellis 11 years ago

Higgins is like a freight train. He’s going to ease this

  10. Ellis 11 years ago

Mr F, if you lumped on Higgins well done. Robertson is playing shocking. Doing ,y head in. He’s getting in the balls then missing, Higgins clear up. Every frame without fail

  13. Ellis 11 years ago

    • Darren 11 years ago

      Yes backed robbo

  15. Ellis 11 years ago

Bit annoying how it isn’t televised until an hours time, yet it’s started, robbo looks good for 5-5 though

  16. Ellis 11 years ago

Looking even. Did u get him at the start 6/1 betvictor

  17. Ellis 11 years ago

I don’t want to brag or jump the gun but this looks good

I usually get heavily criticised for my value but maybe I’ve done a few people well with this 5/1 outright shot

    • Darren 11 years ago

Here’s my acca for tomorrow. Sure to be lots of stuffings and 2-0 scorelines- hence low odds. I aim to switch to set betting when the better matches come along as it is more profitable- for me anyway. Don’t worry about who these people are playing- they aren’t very good.

    Monday- Wimbledon winners
    Wickmayer 3/10
    Navarro 2/11
    McHale 2/9
    Bartoli 1/6
    Sarafova 1/6
    Errani 1/8
    Goerges 2/5
    Flipkins 2/7
    all to win £10 acca= £51.76.

Tuesday: Petrova, Halep, Cibulkova-Radwanska-Kerber-Pironkova all to win- haven’t finished the list yet.

  21. Ellis 11 years ago

    Mr F, can’t fault today

    £100 Robertson outright
    £10 Ela outright
    £50 England cricket (in play)

Finally see a breakthrough. Lets just hope I don’t blow my trumpet and the £10,000 challenge goes bust

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ellis, that was good stuff. Didn’t realise England game had started. Thought it was a wash-out.
