IT was a sensational Sunday from Johnb as he wiped out his losses for the month and roared back into black with a cracking 45pt daily profit.

The joint nap and NB did the job after being advised at 7-1, Canyari was a 6-1 winner and the double returned a whopping 28 points. And our man even came close to an astonishing 1455-1 treble only for the final pick of the day to scupper the jackpot.

Johnb is now 32.5pts in profit for June overall after answering his most vocal critic in style and has another joint nap and NB among his Monday selections.

Bright Flash (NAP/NB)
Johnny says: “This filly was quite highly tried last year and ran a good fourth at York over 7f.
“She was fourth to White Lake who has since been running in listed and group level. The second that day at York was Secret Brief who also moved up to listed and group level and he even ran in the group one Craven Stakes. It shows how well Bright Flash did against those horses.

“Bright Flash went on to win over Monday's course and distance when a pretty easy winner. Last time out she ran a good race on her seasonal debut and will be much fitter for that run. We also have a trainer in pretty decent form just now and a decent jockey Hector Crouch who takes off a valuable 7lb for this race.”

Good luck everyone and post your own tips and chat here.

  7. Alanm 3 years ago

    2.30 Ascot, Ivawood (Wednesday)

R Hughes – “Ivawood looks a million dollars at home and is my nap of the meeting…the pacemaker came up and annoyed me in the Irish Guineas. That was still a better run than at Newmarket and a reproduction should be enough in the Jersey. He is the best horse in the race and he will win.”

In Hong Kong they call him the Elephant & he has been called a monster, a freak but I call him a BEAST

Over 17 hands tall and about 95 stone in weight when the average racehorse is 14 to 16 hands and 71 stone thats why he gets all his nicknames

If you are off, watch him
If you are working, record the race
    and see something special

    Royal Ascot
    Prince of Wales Stakes

Cannock Chase (advised at 12/1 now 8/1)
This might have raised a few eyebrows but this horse has still got improvement in him
In his two runs this season he doesn’t stand out, but with the ground not perfect for him in those races and the fact that this race is his main target for the season means those races were just prep races.

Sir Michael Stoute can get a horse ready for a planned race and he can improve horses massively for planned targets
The ground is going to be perfect for him and he looked to love the track last year
Form wise I can’t really put much up for him but its another case of what I have seen from his runs that convince me he is a big player to win the Prince of Wales Stakes and believe me when I say Sir Michael Stoute will have him 100%

Sky Bet money back if its a loser max £25 that will do for me :)

  70. Alanm 3 years ago

Shocks are rare in this Group 1 and the winner will surely come from the first four in the betting. Of these, Able Friend seems the most suspect as the style of racing in Hong Kong, where they jump out fast and slow to a crawl, allows him to use his potent turn of foot to great effect, whereas a fast-run mile seemed to find him out in the local Derby run over 1m2f (equivalent to Ascot’s still 1m). SOLOW, bet365’s 6/4 favourite, is much harder to find fault in and he’s looked a monster since dropping back to this sort of trip, and when his trainer Freddy Head says he’s one of the best he’s ever trained we should take notice. Tactically versatile, he should be able to handle whatever this race throw at him and it’s doubtful the ground will be rattling fast (the only real worry) for this opener. Night Of Thunder had just a neck to spare over Toormore when winning the Group 1 Lockinge and the latter could well turn the tables with that run under his belt.

So just be careful with your money on this race a lot of unknown form.

  107. Alex 3 years ago

Think Ahead to hose up, I’m not backing at that price!

  108. johnb 3 years ago

Nick I actually fancy Make Believe to beat Gleneagles
His form looks good in his last race when he beat the French Derby winner New Bay by 3 lengths, O’Brien’s Highland Reel & War Envoy were 6 lengths behind Make Believe but it could have been more
As for Gleneagles although he won the Irish 2000 Guineas I thought he was poor that day and well below his 2000 Guineas form at Newmarket and I am just thinking maybe that Newmarket run took too much out of him, also think he was aimed at the 2000 as his main target for the season so might be past his top fitness now

  109. Alex 3 years ago

California Chrome, the 2014 Kentucky Derby winner, could be forced to miss his intended engagement in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot on Wednesday due to a bruised foot.

The four-year-old, who finished fourth when attempting to complete the US Triple Crown in the Belmont Stakes last June, has been stabled with Rae Guest in Newmarket before his attempt to beat an international field in the Group One contest, the highlight of the second day.

America’s Daily Racing Form reported on its Twitter feed on Monday evening that Art Sherman, California Chrome’s trainer, is “about sure” that his colt will not make the race, although Sherman added that “we’ll go over him in the morning”.

California Chrome’s foot was being poulticed on Monday evening but he could not be given any medication within 48 hours of Wednesday’s contest.

California Chrome had been expected to be one of the biggest international stars to race at this week’s Royal meeting.
