Israel U21 v Norway U21, Wednesday 17:00, Sky Sports 2,

Match Odds: Israel U21 2.42, Norway U21 3.2, The Draw 3.4

It's always a little tricky to judge quite what to expect from the hosts of major tournaments without them having first gone under the qualification microscope, though only one successful qualification campaign, back in 2007, from 11 attempts suggests that Israel are lucky to be at the finals.

Meanwhile, Norway came through a mightily tough two-legged play-off against France, winning the second leg 5-3, to progress to these finals and will make formidable opposition for the hosts.

In England's qualifying group, the Norwegians only lost to the Young Lions, completing a notable 3-1 win away in Belgium, and they should be capable of spoiling the hosts' party.

  • Back Norway U21 to win @ 3.2

England U21 v Italy U21, Wednesday 19:30, Sky Sports 2,

Match Odds: England U21 3.3, Italy U21 2.42, The Draw 3.35

England really have blazed a trail to this Championship, following up five wins to nil their last five qualifiers for the tournament by recording four more blemish-free victories in subsequent friendlies.

To his credit, Stuart Pearce has forged a near-impenetrable Young Lions defensive unit. Jack Butland has been hugely impressive between the sticks and protected by the likes of Steven Caulker, Liverpool's Andre Wisdom, Nathaniel Clyne and Sunderland's Danny Rose (suspended for this game), it's not hard to see why, as all excelled in the Premier League this season.

Against the old foe Italy, it's likely to be a fairly cat-and-mouse affair as both teams know a draw would set them up well enough for the easier group fixtures to come.

Italy themselves qualified well for the tournament and represent the most successful nation at this level, despite not featuring in the final since last winning it in 2004.

Two of the last three contests between the Young Lions and their Azzurrini counterparts have ended in parity with the most recent one finishing 1-0 to the Italians. It's a tough one to call, but England should at least start undefeated.

  • Back the draw @ 3.35
  • Back Under 2.5 goals @ 1.75

Other bets:

  • Back Germany to win U21 Euro Championship @ 5.2
  • Back Peniel Mlapa to be top scorer @ 22.0
  • Back England to reach the final @ 2.64

Hopefully our young lions can give us something to cheer about this summer, were in the weaker group and Corals 13/2 to win the tournament makes some appeal to me.

Who will be our hero? A few players who are eligible ain’t in the squad due to injuries. Tom Ince and Danny Rose won’t play this evening. Will Zaha is our key man and will have his backers as top England scorer but I like Sunderland’s Connor Wickham to oblige at a tasty 6/1 at BetVictor.

If heart rules head then Italy maybe the shout to win the tournament at 6/1 at Ladbrokes. Having tipped Wickham to be England’s top scorer, what about the tournament top scorer. Rodrigo makes some appeal at 9/1 with BetVictor albeit in the harder group, my main selection is Roma forward Mattia Destro who is 10/1 at BetVictor.

I know this is a little random but I have £200 bonus to play with at Bet365. Anyone know how I can maximise this payout? Has to be rolled over 3 times. I was thinking back/lay?

  7. Guido 11 years ago

Lamby, main thing is to be sensible don’t go throwing lumps on stupid bets..be patient

  8. Lambs 11 years ago

Think it is possible to roll it over then?

    • Milesey 11 years ago

you have to play through the bonus 3 times don’t you ?

so could back under 11 corners in a game @ 1/1 and back over 11 corners @ 1/1
£100 on each, whatever wins you still have £200. I have been on every single betting site on the net, got the bonus, played it, withdrawn it, cancelled the account, now just have 2 accounts, bet365 and betfair, obviously look at previous games when you do the corner market, certain teams love a corner, certain teams hardly ever get 1 per game.

Lamby it depends what you want/what rocks yer boat i suppose..try and build up profit with it you can do 40 x £5 bets if you so wish…its “free” bets..no point horsing it all on at once and losing the whole lot/giving it to them straight back. Read this site every day and choose and perm 2/3 teams you actually like. If u like horses pick 2 or 3 of Milesey’s 6/7 tipped nags or stick then all on a singles or you could do say £3 singles on 3 selections/£1 doubles/50p trebles..small stake yankee/lucky 15..even if its only one winner its money in yer pocket and you can have free punts/entertainment for the next month with smallish stakes. Realistically you’ve got much better chance of a return doing singles. Don’t waste it putting on 5/6 teams rollups on a £20 a line tho lured by big odds. If you could limit yourself to one tenner bet on your most fancied single every day that’d be the way, but I reckon 99% of people on this site wid say that’s hellish difficult to do/tough to be that disciplined!!

    • Milesey 11 years ago

I wouldn’t play it like that, he only has to play through the bonus 3 times, back over 11 corners 6/5, wait till it goes in play and back under 11 corners @ 1/1, or do it the other way, whatever is priced price before the inplay market, then inplay back the other side…. or number of throw ins, cards…….. anything where there can be 2 outcomes and the price is evens or better and then you back both ways……. of cause you don’t play like that with your own money for you get nothing from it, no loss, no profit, but you can play a bonus 3 times and withdraw it.

What Milesey says id dead right..you could place 3 bets and withdraw and walk away with healthy amount on the original “Free” £200. Depends if you are happy with that or want some sort of ongoing entertainment/pastime?

  12. Lamby 11 years ago

I have looked at the price of corners and I dont think it can work. It would be a risk leaving it until you are inplay betting no?

Thanks for the help so far guys.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

santos and Portuguesa games on now, you could have backed over 11 corners @ 6/5 in both them games……….. and now you could back under 13 corners @ 6/5, what is even better for you have an over lap, so if there are 12 corners both bets win !

      Milesey

    • Milesey 11 years ago

Whatever happens in them games now regarding corners one bet will win, if there are 12 corners then both bets win.

      Milesey

    • Milesey 11 years ago

As i said you have to do your homework, Portuguesa game should have a corners and has been 5 in 12 minutes already…….. so you would have bet accordingly when first backing the over or under market.

What game you on tonight Guido ?

    Bahia v Botafogo

Bahia made already quite a good surprise against Internacional in their last match as they beat them with 1-2 on their home ground. Internacional was dominating by far the match, however Bahia managed to score and defend at the right moments it was pretty impressive.

Botafogo however will not underestimate the team as probably did Internacional and even though I do not expect an easy match I can see a final outcome of 1-2 for the visitors. The current form of the club is excellent with an away record that suits the needs of the clubs. Perhaps they are doing a little bit too many draws, however the wins are also recorded in an often manner. The 0-0 draw on Corinthians was a good result for the team.

I expect to see a defensive Bahia that will count on counters and Botafogo that acts as their usual rate.

Bahia is without: Anderson, Ze Roberto and Souza is doubtful. For the visitors we will miss Rodrigo Defendi, Cidinho, Jefferson, Lodeiro and Doria.

Botafogo has high expectations for the season (TOP places) and Bahia will finish in a midd-table position. The start was good for the hosts but with the same line-up as Internacional I expect an away victory.

I fancy Botafogo as well Milesey..Seedorf to belt in a couple of 45yard screamers!!! :-) Was just putting my golf bets on. Few at decent prices Merrick and Henley (both winners this season) in St Jude a pretty open eventi think ahead of the more important US Open and think Weisberger has an outstanding chance in Lyonness, but 6/1 or 7/1 isn’t really great value unless he has an average start and drifts a bit so looking at Keiffer.

  14. Lamby 11 years ago

    Cheers Mileesy,

I understand what you mean now. Do my research and hope the game plays out as it should to lock in a profit or atleast a non loss.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

when your looking at turning a bonus like this your looking at events with 2 outcomes, i.e tennis, one player will win , can’t be a draw, but the odds reflect this, game tomorrow, FERRER V TSONGA:

      FERRER 4/6 , TSONGA 5/4

      £120 ON FERRER = £80 , Giving you back your full £200

      £80 on TSONGA = £100, Giving you back £180 , so a loss of £20.

FERRER may win it giving you back the full stake you started with, but you could come out with a £20 loss……….. isn’t the BET365 bonus one where you have to play through the bonus 3 times, so the full amount of £200 3 times ? i can’t remember now from when i got my bonus, i recently had £100 free bet from them, and it was play the full amount 3 times i.e £300. before i could withdraw it.

      Milesey

    • Striker 11 years ago

For the Bet365 bonus, you have to play your deposit and matched bonus 3 times, so if you deposit the maximum matched amount of £200, you get £200 bonus so you now have £400 balance to bet with. To roll it over 3 times, you need to stake £1,200 within 90 days or the bonus part becomes forfeit. Bets must be at 1/2 (1.50) or over.

Quite easily possible to do this within 3 months if you’re disciplined. But better to go for this in mid-August or early September so you have more betting options within your 90 days, as the time limit starts from when your bonus is applied.
