Not a great deal to go at today but I’ll have a punt in this race.

    Plum 2.15 head spin 5/1
Win and place bets on betfair.

I just think goring can be taken on after the 11lb rise. It’s a bit steep.

Joh. You could answer this but it’s an open question. So hoeing fell at the last when well clear and gets 11lb for his efforts but a horse called cyclop around a month ago did almost the same but didn’t get a single lb more weight to carry so went into romp it’s next race by 15 lengths.

I know this because I was on it when it fell and cursed myself for missing it’s reaperance. It taught me to use the tracker. Ha.

Anyway it’s interesting to see what the answer is.

    GL today folks.

    • Johnb 3 years ago

It all comes down to the handicappers judgement, they have to decide which horse in the race has run to its mark and adjust ratings from that horse, they also take into account ground conditions
They must have been of the opinion that no horse in Cyclop race ran to their level

    • alanm 3 years ago

Nice one on the bob well done and great info :)

on the bob fantastic jumping there by goring two

  27. rale 3 years ago

    Pathetic by Harley.

    • rale 3 years ago

He had 16 races this year and only one winner. Now lost on 3 fancied Godolphin horses this year. Not good.

      • elvis parsley 3 years ago

Don’t know why a powerful yard like dolphin are using a Mickey mouse jockey like Harley.
Probably because the top boys are hibernating until the spring

        • elvis parsley 3 years ago

Dolphin ! , gotta love spellchecker

rale Harley is 1 of the poorest out there god knows how hes with Godolphin the ride looks even worse with him trying to pull the horse out but if you watch the race back 2nd was best it was going to finish the winner Abbey Angel finished the race the strongest Best Example never made any inroads into the 2 lengths all the way down the straight it was just passing weakening horses for 2nd.
Its also now been beat 4 times since going up the weights from its last win so the handicapper could well have its rating spot on now.

            • Johnb 3 years ago

stevieg you couldn’t be more wrong if you tried, Best Example could go up another 15lb before the handicapper gets a hold of him and you are not watching the same race

Come on Johnb who are you trying to kid 15lb your having a laugh if it could go up 15lb whats happened on its last 4 races it can win of its current mark if its a run of the mill handicap without a well handicapped horse in the race.
At no point in the final 2f did it make any in roads with the winner and the winner finished full of running.
To say definitely one that got away you couldnt be more wrong obviously talking through your pocket.

                • Johnb 3 years ago

It’s a horse that is still improving and 15lb was actually being conservative but your reading of a race is pretty poor

  28. Johnb 3 years ago

Looked like he panicked a little, but I was never worried during that race till he tried to pull the horse out.
That was definitely one that got away

    • elvis parsley 3 years ago

You have just seen a prime example by Kielan woods of why jockeys should never ease up on horses.
If you didn’t see it, watch a re-run of the 2-45 plumpton.
Extreme impact ran like a pig, had no chance approaching the last but ploughed down the stretch to win.
      Well done mr woods

  29. on the bob 3 years ago

Cheers JB. Just seemed odd that one gets such a steep rise and the other nothing.

As for the win. I’d love to claim that i did back it but my pick got pulled up.

I think someone on here napped it though.

GL for the rest of the day.

Paddy’s Motorbike boooooooom glad I backed the single after Best Example was shocking and let the dbl down

Nice1 linfieldaces nice gamble landed as well 100/30 last night Josephine Gordon again.

      • elvis parsley 3 years ago

got to say Stevie I agree with you about best example.
He wasn’t 15 pound better than any of the 1st 5.
Would John make the same comment if it was trained by a run of the mill trainer ?.
I doubt given its recent form that he would even have tipped it.
Jockey was crap yes, but wasn’t boxed in completely and if he was 15 pound better than the rest would have won.

Watch the 2-45 today at plumpton for the ride of the season by kielan woods.

        • Johnb 3 years ago

Elvis parsley at where did I say Best Example was 15lb better than any of today’s runners in the 2:30
I would like you to answer because I am really confused

          • elvis parsley 3 years ago

You said he has 15 pounds in hand of the handicapper.
WhichI suggested he was 15 pounds well in today in that case.
Just my interpretation of your post John.

            • Johnb 3 years ago

Was saying he could go up another 15lb before the handicapper got a hold of him, Best Example has been improving, its only a matter of time before he wins because he is still improving

Being raised 15lb over a few races with an improving horse like Best Example is well within his compass, its not the same as being raised 15lb straight away

Confused doesnt surprise me going by YOUR reading of the race if you can tell me anytime up the straight that Best Example was going better and looking like the winner over a strong finishing Abbey Angel i’ll hold my hands up.
They were practically level the whole race until the winner kicked 2l clear and easily held the 2l at the line.
If any of the excellent daily tipsters on here like “alanm,Buzztop,jimron12.on the bob,boz1,rookie” sorry and anybody else can tell me that Best Example should be winning off a 15lb + higher handicap mark when its been beat 4 times now of its rating i’ll hold my hands up and there reading of the race would be interesting going by your comments Johnb your saying Best Example was an unlucky loser.
When backing or tipping a horse that gets beat instead of continually looking or making an excuse its far classier just to admit your reading of the race was wrong or you just simply picked the wrong horse and move onto the next.

Am also really struggling to work out how ANYBODY can say Best Example is an improving horse even the handicapper doesnt in its last 3 races now.
Anybody can look through its last 4 defeats no excuses in any of them travels flatters to deceive stays on at 1 pace exact same the last twice of Wolvs and inbetween at Kempton on its highest rating.

              • elvis parsley 3 years ago

Today’s. Description of best examples performance from sky sports website.

Dwelt, tracked leaders, effort when hung left over 1f out, soon ridden, kept on one pace

Doesn’t sound like one that got away

      • linfieldaces 3 years ago

Cheers stevieg she is definitely one to look out for thought it was best of her rides today. The dbl let me down but took it at 7/4 single after Best Example was beat.Had the nfl quad up skybet priceboost at 4/1 so thought the winnings were worth the gamble on her.I know your not keen on the AW but think it’s good bet at the minute

Yeh it did look her best ride mate and the weight of money proved that she gave it a tidy strong ride.
I dont mind the all weather but the higher grades not day to day races i’ll leave that to yous guys.
Nice1 of your NFL was that the 4 favs that won ? i have not really followed it this year.

          • linfieldaces 3 years ago

Yes mate 4 favs looked too good at 4/1 steal was my exact thinking. Best Example looked an average horse though I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination but he looked very sluggish just didn’t wana be on him going down the straight. But such is life.Would have made me a nice dbl if he came in though.
