TONIGHT'S card is either an embarrassment of riches or, if it goes tits up, it's the old adage of too much choice!

Either way, there's plenty to go at and I've picked out three bets; a rare and risky ‘unders' bet from The Icelandic Ladies, a tasty looking encounter from The National League and a bonkers goals longshot from all over the place!

ÍA WOMEN VS. ÍR WOMEN

(8.15pm):

On average, I probably pick ‘ unders' bets once or twice a year, I'm not a fan and I hate following a game NOT wanting goals to go in!

But, just every now and again, there is a game that I think may just offer up value when the bookies think goals are more expected than I do – this one fits the same criteria and, although I can see why goals are priced up as they are, I don't necessarily think it's a definite.

Basically, IR's ladies are having a bit of a rick; bottom after 12 with just one point and a g/d of -53, life aint great for these Icelandic goddesses – they have been hit by some big defeats BUT key to this pick is that those scorelines were all by the top sides.

Tonight's opposition IA sit third bottom and are in pretty dire form themselves;  without a win in 8, they are hardly banging them in and one of the most notable statistics I pulled out is that not a single one of their last 11 home matches saw more than 4 goals!

H2H-wise, only one of the most recent 7 meetings saw 4 or more with the rest seeing 4-3-1-2-3-3; all in all, yes, I can see why the bookies are primed for a goal blitz, but there is enough evidence to suggest neither side have the firepower to produce an avalanche of goals.

Recommended bet:

  • Under 5 goals
  • (11/10, bet365) NAP

WREXHAM VS. HALIFAX TOWN (7.45pm):

Wrexham have looked pretty strong as I suggested they might before the opening day, they have invested in their striking prowess and it has shown but they have let themselves down by falling on their own sword in both of their last two where they have conceded late on to turn two wins into a loss and a draw.

Tonight's visit by Halifax will be a real test, the Yorkshire side having won all 3 of their opening games to sit top of the NL after 3 games and will provide a guaranteed challenge as they head over the Welsh border.

One of Wrexham's strengths comes in the form of young Cardiff loanee Mark Harris who has scored in both of the last two games and could be lethal at this level.

It could well be a close call this one with both sides set to compete at the top of the table, I can see at least 3 goals with both sides scoring at a decent price.

Recommended bets:

  • Mark Harris to score anytime
  • (11/4, bet365)

LINFIELD

DUNDALK

WEST BROM

WREXHAM

HARTLEPOOL

ALTRINCHAM

BILLERICAY

  • Both teams to score 7-fold

(60/1, bet365) Longshot

I’ll keep this away from the main thread and not sure if anyone listened to 5Live today?

So many things that have been kept hush hush but I said the good will out eventually and looks like it might come out sooner than later!

Hope it’s not too late 🤞

Cheers Mr F – worth listening to and drawing your own conclusions regarding Day, his predecessor Dale and The Shakers themselves.

We’re lucky in a sense that we are getting so much air time – plenty of other clubs (including the mighty Bankies!) been in our position and didn’t get anywhere near the coverage.

No one likes to see a old established club go – we were shafted unfortunately but that’s another story and thanks to the fans we’re still here.

Heading to a mate’s to watch the Celtic game then go for a couple of pints – check in later.
Wednesday’s a quite one and I’ve already picked out some Europa League bets for Thursday.

Aye, never good and will inevitably always be the fans who bring it back from the ashes whilst the money flows freely into the English Premier League.

Enjoy the game (and the pints 🍺)

1-0 in Iceland and NAP was the right call 👍

Got the 11/4 ATGS as well with Harris – no joy on the NB and just that one Halifax goal.away from a 60/1!

    👍

Exactly what I said the other day.
We have been through the same.
The same owners that ruined Chester and barrow roll up, players, staff, club suppliers, tax not paid etc.
We get relegated due to financial irregularities and have now started Bangor 1876 in tier 5 believe it or not.
We get 4-600 fans, Bangor city get one man and his dog.
They carry on regardless, signed a load of low grade Italians who were playing in the Maltese 2nd Division with money from ???.
Money laundering maybe, that’s the word on the street, they train in Liverpool, no local staff at the club and are now suspended from playing pending another possible relegation due to non payment of players and falsifying players registration forms.
I could go on, so you see I have an affinity with shakers fans.

My grandad who is buried in st peters church down the road from gigg lane would be turning in his grave, god rest his soul.

These cnuts have no feelings for the institution’s they are using and ruining for their own personal gain

Sorry I’m going on but it’s hard sitting back and listening to Mr dale on talk sport today blaming everyone but himself.
He kept reiterating, I only want what’s best for bury ??, Bollocks…

Elvis, I’ve been choosing my words carefully as it’s not my site and unfair to put out allegations but the truth is coming out slowly and bluffs have been called today that are a long time coming.

I remember well you telling me about your grandad about 4 years back – somewhere off the back of Walmersely Rd I think you said he lived?

Just think there’s too many out there that reckon they can make a few quid and raise their own ‘philanthropical’ profile doing so – alas, in all but a handful of cases it end with either the club or them getting screwed.

There is an old saying which rings true and ought to be part of the due diligence model:

‘How do you become a millionaire from owning a football club? Start by being a billionaire’

      😉
