MY Valur pick was less valiant and more valium and it cut deep given the strength of my optimism.
I’d ideally want to be picking some opening-day World Cup bets but I just don’t fancy anything from the Russia v Saudi Arabia game. It's not worth betting on it for betting's sake so I’m sticking to more familiar territory.
FH v VIKINGUR REYKJAVIK (8.15pm)
Both sides have had a similarly paced start with FH edging it to fifth place on 13 points as opposed to Vikingur’s nine points which sees them them sitting in eighth.
But it’s the hosts' penchant for conceding a goal I’m drawing on here – it’s a feat they have achieved in each of the last 6 Urvalsdeild games and has become a huge standout over the last 12 months.
They’ll be up against a Vikingur side who have scored in each of their last 4 games and in 100 per cent of the last 5 H2Hs between the two – the most recent of these being last season’s games which resulted in scorelines of 2-4 and 2-2.
- Both teams to score (5-6, bet365)
- Both to score & over 2.5 goals (11-8, bet365)
****************************
Of the 4 Urvalsdeild games I suspect 2 have decent potential for both sides to net. FH’s I’ve reasoned out above but I reckon form reversal between Fjolnir and Grindavik may just see a change to the usual goal traffic betwen the two! Doubled up they offer a decent price.
FH v VIKINGUR REYKJAVIK
FJOLNIR v GRINDAVIK
- Both to score double (2-1, bet365)
