It wasn't to be for either of Rizzel's selections on Tuesday as both were soundly beaten in their races.
Rizz and I don't have much joy when backing old selections, and it tends to be a double whammy more times than most, with them either winning next time out or turning over our selection when we back against them in the same race.
Yes Day was inconvenienced by the front runner who continually jumped out to the right in front of him. I wouldn't use that as a full excuse as the horse flattered to deceive either way but it definitely didn't help his chances.
The Irish horse was held up, bumped along after many fences but still travelled well into the business end. Mark Walsh probably thought he had more horse than he actually did as his mount found little in the final couple of furlongs.

Roi De France 15/8 – Kempton 7.10
We have plenty of meetings on offer throughout Wednesday and despite there being plenty of jump action on offer, I've found myself hunting for a winner at Kempton on the flat… Not everyone's cup of tea but we go with it anyway.
Getting sucked into late night flat racing on the AW during jumps season is a fools game more times than most, and I advise keeping your money in your pocket unless there's something of substance to be looked at. There was one race on the card that I fancied having a bet in, and it comes in the feature Class 1 Listed event over the mile.
Notably, three-year-olds have the best record in this race having won four of the last five outings. Only three, three year olds line up this time out and only one stood out to me as the most likely winner and that is the Gosden trained Roi De France. My selection hasn't gone unnoticed in the market at 15/8 but the current price is still worthy of a wager in my opinion and I'm more than happy to get involved at his current odds.
My selection has been massively progressive in recent times with a slight blip at Newmarket two runs back the only downfall I can pin point on his CV. It's easy to draw a line through that run with the soft ground conditions that day being a main factor in a no show performance.
Although he faces some strong competition from horses who have form at a higher level, they are for the most part quite exposed compared to Roi De France and given my selection is an upward trajectory at present, I don't think he should have much issue in taking this step up to Listed company.

Haydock 1.10 …White Rhino. 7/4.
Backed this several times when hurdling and he won multiple times placing a hell of a lot, mostly going up in grade each time or at least in versus better horses.
Good chase debut and hopefully goes on and in again.
