Cairnzy is covering Wednesday's racing until Rizz returns tomorrow with Thursday's card.

Rizz had two selections on Tuesday, but it wasn't to be for either of them. I missed the performance regarding Universal Story, but Rizz has told me his selection wasn't given a great ride, which is ultimately the chance you take when backing amateur riders.

I did catch his second selection, which was Leloopa, and I thought she ran an okay race for the most part. She looked to be travelling quite well but came under pressure as the eventual winner was eased into contention and ultimately had plenty under the bonnet.

Cairnzy's Racing Tips

Soy El Fuego 9/2 – Cork 4.10

Due to the current racing strike, I only have the one meeting to look through in terms of racing within the UK and Ireland.

After glancing through the card, I struggled massively to find something worth laying. My advice would be to keep your money in your satchels and live to fight another day, but if you do fancy having a bet, then I think Soy El Fuego is worth a small wager at his current price of 9/2.

The meeting at Cork is filled with large field handicaps and is minefield central from start to finish. I tried to find a race with a smaller runner field, and the 4.10 was the contest that drew my eye. Like the other contests, this too is a minefield, but I thought Soy El Fuego was worth a few bob at 9/2, given he has some racing experience under his belt.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a newcomer land this either, and I wasn't surprised to see the J P O'Brien newcomer Listentodwindblow as your current market favourite, as the yard does have a good record with their juveniles. With that said, there was a bit to work on if going by the debut performance of Soy El Fuego, which came in a large field maiden at the Curragh last month. The Curragh performance came over 6f and my selection made some nice headway in the later stages of the race to finish in sixth place. My selection was well beaten, finishing just over 10L of the eventual winner, who has since gone on to land Group 3 honours, so the form looks okay to a degree.

Connections dropped Soy El Fuego to 5f on his recent outing, but the trip didn't suit as he appeared to weaken quite badly in the business end to finish in fourth place. Soy El Fuego is now sent back up in trip to 6f and with Colin Keane booked for the ride, there is every chance he can improve after only two career starts.
