It was a case of close but not close enough for Rizz on Tuesday, with none of his three selections getting the job done in what was a frustrating day at the office.

Walking away empty-handed is never ideal, but Rizz can certainly count himself unlucky, particularly with his main selection The Doyen Chief who somehow finished second after looking like an easy winner approaching two from the finish.

I've no idea what jockey Tom Bellamy was thinking as they entered the business end in that contest. He did everything right on his mount for 95% of the race but as they approached two from home he looked like he wanted to win the race on the bridle. He had a fair bit of horse underneath him at that stage, but instead of grabbing the race by the scruff, he allowed the eventual winner a chance as they jumped the last neck and neck. The eventual winner got a second wind as they dashed for the line, and Jupiter Allen nabbed Rizzel's selection on the line to win by a neck.

Enpassant 9/4 – Kempton 7.00

My main selection on Wednesday comes from the evening meeting at Kempton on the AW and fingers crossed it is worth the wait.

My study for Wednesday's card was done quite late into the night and I'm slightly gutted I missed out on the opening price of this horse who opened up as big as 5/1. Regardless, I still think the 9/4 that's available at the time of writing is worth taking.

My selection arrives here on the back of an encouraging effort last time out at Kempton. Enpassant went down by just over 1L to the eventual winner and had he not come into some trouble in running, I do believe he'd have won that race or at the very least taken it the whole way to the line.

My selection switched hands to Stuart Williams last year from the James Fanshawe stable. Despite failing to get his head in front for his new connections, he's at the very least been a model of consistency with previous performances suggesting a race of this calibre is more than within reach. Enpassant has slowly dropped down the weights in each of his last five outings and now finds himself on a mark of 65, having been eased a further pound for his close third last time out. A mark of 65 makes this horse extremely dangerous in my opinion, and with a handy draw in stall one along with Rossa Ryan retaining the ride, a big run looks on the cards.

Sea Presenting 2/1 – Ludlow 2.15

This race is all dependent on whether Jasmine Bliss can recapture her form from a couple of runs back, but after a disappointing fourth last time out, I don't think I'd want to get involved, particularly with her price being as short as odds on.

The horse that I liked was the current second favourite in the market Sea Presenting, who hails from the Toby Lawes yard. My selection has only raced two times so far, one of which was on debut in a p2p which saw her finish a well-beaten third.

Sea Presenting was marked up as a 33/1 shot for her most recent outing at Warwick, and she ran a blinder to finish third once more, and only a length and a quarter down behind the eventual winner That's Nice. I think the form of that third is solid given That's Nice has won three of four career starts, including a victory over Dan Skeltons now 129 rated Honky Tonk Highway, who has since won and boosted the form. That's Nice looks a nice sort ( pardon the pun! ) for JP Mcmanus and Nicky Henderson and it could well be that Toby Lawes charge has the potential to turn over the odds on favourite with further progression likely on the back of an encouraging run behind a nice type.
