Thanks to Cairnzy for covering Tuesday's thread. He didn't walk away with a winner, but his main selection was a non-runner and he was left with an outsider.
I didn't manage to catch the race as I was driving home from work, but Cairnzy said the horse was off the bridle quite early and lacked the gears to be involved.

On To The Rouge 7/1 – Market Rasen 5.00
Wednesday's racing is very flat, and not much stood out as a strong bet, including my sole selection. I will get involved in the flat racing when the turf season kicks off, but even the Kempton meeting on Wednesday didn't really offer much other than the Class 2 race, which looked competitive.
Instead, I've gone for a newcomer in the bumper at Market Rasen. I will start off saying that if you are following me with On To The Rouge, it is probably best if you wait till the morning and see how the market settles, as I think the market will be a big indicator to how On To The Rouge runs.
My selection is making his racecourse debut, so we know very little, and is coming from a yard that hasn't had a winner over the jumps in over 500 days, which doesn't sound promising. However, this race doesn't look to have too much depth, and I think the favourite is the correct horse at the top of the market, but he isn't guaranteed to like the quicker surface as he has form on soft ground and is bred for softer conditions. The rest of the field don't look too appealing, especially at the odds, so I thought the Peter Niven horse was worth a small dabble.
This horse is a half-brother to a bumper winner, who also made a winning debut, winning in very good style for the same trainer. The Dam was a bumper winner and finished as runner-up from her four runs in bumpers, with some good form in there too, finishing behind Barters Hill on debut turned out to be a great piece of form, so we know there is speed in the pedigree, but also good ground bumper form throughout.
In terms of the other horses…Exiguus didn't look great on his bumper debut and wasn't fancied in the market. Plains Differ was third in a PTP race and wasn't an expensive purchase, and he will probably be better over further. Greedy Smith will likely be fancied in the market due to the owners and being trained by Jonjo who is a good trainer in bumpers, but he is slightly less than half the price of my selection. Golden Whirl was interesting for a yard going places and a yard that does well in bumpers. The horse is a flat bred, so he will likely have plenty of speed, but the Dam has produced sprinters, and the hood is on for his debut, which suggests he can be keen, which isn't ideal as bumper races can be run at a sedate gallop.
