Unfortunately, Grand Traverse wasn't good enough to stop the Saeed Bin Suroor runner at Kempton on Tuesday.
I don't think we can blame Grand Traverse for being keen in running for the reason why he didn't win. The winner was equally as keen, and that equalled the playing field, which meant he was beaten by the better handicapped horse. I think the front pair will continue to run well, or win races, as they did pull a length or so clear of the third.
Best of luck for this week. York is a fantastic racecourse, and this meeting has some very good races. As always, stick your fancies in the comments. If you have found some in the next few days, tell us about them as well.

Jordan Electrics 9/1 (0.5pt EW, 5pl) – York 1.50
I tipped up Jordan Electrics on his second run of the season at Goodwood in the Stewards' Cup. I thought he ran well in the circumstances, as he probably wasn't at 100% fitness, and the ground wasn't as quick as he'd want it. He was second in this race last year, and this has probably been his target all along.
At the age of nine, it doesn't look like he is slowing down. Last year, he had his best campaign, showing that he was still improving with age. It's remarkable how well he did, and I don't think he is losing his speed or ability from the two runs he's had this year. His first run of the season was a warm-up, and last time out was a decent effort. He has gone down a couple of pounds in the handicap for his recent effort, which gives him a solid chance.
I don't think this race looks as strong as it might appear on paper. Whenever people see a huge field, they instantly think it's competitive. I don't think that's the case with this race. I think he has the perfect race setup; he is drawn in the middle of two horses who like to front run, so he should get dragged into the race nicely by Tattersall and Curious Rover.
My biggest concern is always the man in the saddle. Paul Mulrennan loves to give my selections a rough ride, and then loves to come back and beat me when I bet against him. Hopefully, he gets it right.
Terrorise 10/1 (0.5pt EW, 4pl) – York 4.10
After going through every runner in the race and thinking quite a few had a chance, many of them fell into the same category of being on high enough handicap marks. Alphonse Le Grande will likely go off a short-priced favourite due to his connections and the fact that he has won three big pots over staying trips in the UK. However, I thought it was worth siding with an unexposed horse at the trip and one who could improve again, and that was Terrorise.
I think backing horses off low weights can be a trap, but as I mentioned, a lot of the horses appear to be in the grips of the handicapper. We don't know how far Terrorise can go before the handicapper catches up with him, but he looked very impressive over course and distance last time out.
Obviously, his impressive win came in a Class 4, so today's Class 2 will be a much tougher assignment. However, the third-placed horse went on and won in good style at York on their next start, so there is substance to the form. I think you would be foolish to totally overlook him, especially when you consider he is carrying 8st 2lbs and gets a very good lightweight jockey on board in Hollie Doyle.
