The exciting part of the Christmas racing period is only days away, but we are left scraping this Sunday, with not much happening throughout the UK for punters to get tucked into.
Please be aware that we are still in the process of fixing some technical issues. One particular issue that I noticed was the comment section not showing comments. At the moment, if you wish to comment and view other members comments then you will have to be logged in to your MFT account for these to show. For example, if you access the thread without logging in, you will see no comments, whereas if you login prior to clicking on the thread then the comments will show. Again, apologies for the on-going issues and hopefully the tech guys can fix this sooner rather than later.

Samourai One 4/1 – Fakenham 2.13
Punters don't have much to choose from in regards to meetings on Sunday, with a flat meeting at Lingfield and a jumps card at Fakenham the only meetings on offer. Nothing caught my eye on the flat and as a result, I've opted to go hunting at Fakenham for a winner.
One particular horse tickled my fancy in the 2.13 contest which is a Class 4 Handicap Chase over a gruesome 3m 5f. The horse that caught my eye was the Lucy Wadham trained Samourai One, who currently sits in the top half of the market at 4/1 in what looks an extremely competitive field.
Lucy has her string in great nick at present and despite her not being known for having a huge stable of horses, the ones that are running, are running to a decent standard with her yard currently operating at a 30% S/R in the past 14 days. She's notably had three winners from her past 4 runners and her horses have to be taken seriously at present.
I thought her runner here in Samouri One was quite interesting in this first attempt at 3m5f, but if going by his efforts over slightly shorter I think he could very well appreciate this extra distance.
Samouri One has filled the placings in his last two starts, one of which was over 3m at this very same course and the other was over 3m2f at Fontwell. The Fontwell performance was the one that caught my eye the most, and after watching a replay of the race it drew me to my conclusion to give this horse a chance over this extra distance.
My selection traveled well at Fontwell that day, staying on strongly to finish third, suggesting that he potentially would be better over further. He was dropped in trip to 3m for the contest at Fakenham which saw him finish second behind Lunar Contact. Again, the trip seemed too short as Samouri One was ridden cold that day and came home strongly to finish second, but the eventual winner had first run, and unfortunately, it was too late. Lunar Contact has since won again, so that contest's form reads not too bad either.

Not done much so far and is way out of the handicap but as it’s class 5, it can’t get any lower so I see it as having a featherweight in a really shit race.
