I didn't catch any of Rizzel's selections from yesterday's Lucky 15, so I can't exactly comment on how they performed. From looking at the results, I see he had a couple hit the crossbar, but not enough to return a profit on the original stake.
We are pushed into a corner on Sunday in terms of meetings on offer, with only two meetings on show for punters within the UK. I've decided to concentrate on the meeting at York, which offers some fascinating races.
Cairnzy's Lucky 15 Tips
Secret History 2/1 – York 2.30
Unless any of the newcomers are of any quality, I feel this race will between the top three in the market. I decided to go with the Ed Walker-trained Secret History. Kieran Shoemark takes the ride for connections, and he has strung up a nice partnership under Ed since losing his previous job.
There was a lot to like about the debut performance of Secret History last month when staying on well to finish second at Newbury. She was never catching the eventual winner, but I thought when the penny dropped she ran on well and she should come on plenty for the experience. She is seemingly held in some regard given her future entries, and being the only filly in the lineup up she receives weight all around.
Air Force One 2/1 – York 3.00
Air Force One was a horse I backed at the recent Ebor festival, and I thought he was very unlucky not to win last time out. He had a nightmare run when trying to make a challenge, but once in the clear, he stayed on very well to finish third.
The sprint division is a mess, and these types of races tend to throw up wacky results at the best of times but with that said, I think I'd rather be with him than against him. He is still a lightly raced animal, and although he isn't guaranteed a clear passage in this big field, I think if things fall right, he should be bang there at the finish.
Terrorise 6/1 – York 3.30
If I remember correctly, Rizz tipped Terrorise up at the Ebor meeting on either the Lucky 15 thread or the main, I can't remember which, but unfortunately, on that occasion, Terrorise didn't run as expected. The money was somewhat down on him that day ( sent off at 4/1 ), so you can only assume they expected a good run. He finished a well-beaten 10th of 13 and finished a fair bit of your current favourite for this contest in Artisan Dancer.
I'm hoping that was just a blip, as I've opted to roll the dice with him in this contest in the hope that the cheekpieces spark some sort of revival. Jockey Ben Robinson replaces Hollie Doyle in the saddle.
Lethal Levi 10/3 – York 4.30
William Haggas is in red hot form, and I was very tempted by his three-year-old entry Almeraq, who looks open to even more improvement. This contest does represent a significant step up in class, and I wasn't sure 6/4 was a worthy bet in what looks a very competitive field.
I opted for what looks like the safe option in the Karl Burke-trained Lethal Levi, who arrives here on the back of a comfortable win at Listed level last month. Lethal Levi has form in the book when running at Yor,k and a 3lb rise shouldn't prevent another bold showing in my opinion.
