My NAP did the business yesterday but unfortunately, he was paired up with three stinkers. There isn't much on today in the UK but York's card more than makes up for that.
In other news, the oversights from me continue, mentioning C Fallon was at the track for Montassib, which won at 25s, only to go with his other that didn't jump of the page. I spotted Haggas was a nose from 4 winners from 8 runners at the festival last year and didn't chance any of them. We'll move on given it wasn't a total write-off with Cryuff Turn ensuring anyone backing the singles once again came out better off.
Attacanter Racing Tips
Significantly 7/1 – 16.00 York
I selected this horse at 10/1 but will stick with it given the lack of a big price alternative, the trainer, Julie Camacho bagged a double yesterday which lead me to look over her runners today. Cover Point is from respected owners but Significantly has to go in.
The horse has only been seen twice this season, the last time back in May, I am not privy as to why but given he has a Group 1 entry, he must be sound enough.
A little rain is forecast, which will only aid the selection's chances. I doubt it gets too soft, but the form on heavy is reassuring. He has done well at stiff tracks, so the likely strong pace should also suit.
The horse was in sparkling form at this time last year. In three races, he faced 65 rivals and lost to just two of them. One of those races was over today's C&D. He finished 2nd to Montassib, the Sprint Cup Group 1 winner yesterday.
Unfortunately, only Sky are offering four places, but a chance is taken in an ultra-competitive race.
Fantasy Master 12/1 six places – 16.35 York
We were lucky enough to chance one of the only Darryl Holland runners who has done anything recently when Grace Angel placed at a big price the other day.
David Egan has ridden a couple of winners for him in recent times, and a chance is taken. His selection is capable of outrunning his price, having not won for over a year. Egan was on that day, too. He actually has some nice-looking rides here today, given Michael Dods does well here, and his other Zain Blue has once again halved in price. I put this horse up at the Ebor festival when 28/1. He went into 10s and scraped into the places, finishing 5th.
Fantasy Master is now 3 lbs below that and ran a nice enough race when last seen at HQ when 3rd of 9 off 1lb higher. The 4th won 2 of his next 3, the 2nd ran well again, and the easy winner won a Listed race in France.
This is a wide open race for the places so I won't factor his poor run at this track last year, low numbers were advantageous at the recent festival here but he's in the middle and has the choice of which side to go.
Tele Red 14/1 five places – 17.10 York
Tele Red was set to be chanced at 20/1, we've lost some value but I will reluctantly stick with him at the expense of Financer who I will now have to also back given recent history.
He is on his last winning mark from around this time last year, he has form in the book over this trip so it isn't overly concerning that he's been contesting mile races at stiff tracks recently, we also have the added luxury of being trained by Karl Burke, who saddled the 1st and 3rd in this race last year.
He has a consistent looking profile, he won at this track last July under this apprentice from 6lbs higher. I have flicked through a good few of his runs and there is plenty enough that's likeable having mixed it with some decent horses. Without digging into his rivals, I thought the price was more than fair.
Teej A 11/2 – 14.50 York
I am going to avoid the 14.15 given how much I flip flopped over the Nigel Tinkler runners who at best seem to have place claims.
With Clive Cox giving us a 25/1 2nd recently, and the best form likeable enough, Mythical Composer could've went in despite the price.
Instead, I am going to risk Teej A who has barely beat a rival since being handed an opening mark of 87. Her first 3 runs were extremely promising, winning at Chester and Epsom – after which the trainer had Group 1 entries in mind.
That has swayed me into giving her one more chance, Newmarket may not have been for her and this level should be to her liking despite only being 4th favourite up against an unexposed field.
– Advised bet – Eachway Lucky15
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
