Yesterday was what is becoming a typical Saturday, we went over a month without a blank but they're becoming a bit too common as of late. I tipped Laafi just 10 days ago when 8th of 9 yet he hoses up today at 33/1, which was a bit sickening given Macari, Four Clean Aces and Onemorenomore all followed suit.

Attacanter Racing Tips

Skyjack Hijack 3/1 – 12.40 Aintree

The two at the top of the market are looking quite progressive, they both are hunting hatrick's, Lihyan 8lbs above his last success, he beat Hardy Boy who ran quite well at Cheltenham yesterday. Skyjack Highjack is up 10lbs for a 13 length success in a Class 5 now tried in a Class 3.

I was looking to take them on, perhaps with Chris Cool, a horse who won fresh last time, but the yard's entry in this last year was a very long way back and with Ideam likely to be pulled I am going to consolidate and stick with Skyjack Hijack who carries 12lbs less than his market rival and has at least made it round today's track when 50/1 on debut.

We cashed in on Jenny Candlish recently, the jockey has had a decent amount of success with her and despite the rise in class and hike in the ratings at risk of the place becoming a 2 places paid, it is safety first with the stats needing a polish.

Petit Tonnerre 9/2 three places – 13.15 Aintree

I don't have many positive things to say about the O'Neill family, a long time since they held any sway in my view, either that or Jr. is just not cut out to be a jockey but it is there's I'm taking a chance on in this at the expense of Parisencore.

We get three places in a seven runner field which is always a bonus, we've missed the early price but given the owner/jockey had a winner on this card last year for the Greenall/Guerriero team, I thought they may have set up another one and looking at the profile, they may well have.

The profile of the horse doesn't read too well but he is now back over the larger obstacles, having had four chases last winter, the only result of note was when 2nd of 4 at Cheltenham's November meeting – the race wa a Grade 2 and he finished close enough to Homme Public to suggest this Class 3 handicap could be within his range.

That was his seasonal bow off a 8 month break, he hasn't been seen since June this year, he has been very disappointing having slipped from a rating of 141 to 125.

Long Call 5/1 – 15.35 Aintree

I was going to risk another Cobden/Daly runner, it's halved in price and I thought better of it, his market rival, Kamsinas represents last years winning trainer, the horse is yet to do it over this trip which isn't really out of the question, he's a Grade 2 winner now in a Class 2 handicap which makes him hard to take on but at the expense of risking Lavida Adiva, I am going to go with Sean Bowen and Olly Murphy.

Long Draw comes here race fit, having had a race in September when a short head 2nd of 13 at Worcester to a horse completing a quick course double. He was unfortunately penalised for that, going up 6lbs prior to his outing at Warick, again 2nd, again to a nice type in Guard The Moon. That form isn't too bad and entitles him to feature now stepping up markedly in grade, his only win came in May at Ffos Las, a comfortable enough success with the 2nd ‘franking' the form by winning next time out.

Credo 4/1 – 15.15 Wincanton

I am finding it hard to get away from Credo, who on paper makes tonnes of appeal, we know that is often not enough but still his place claims look solid all being well and he is more than capable of winning too.

The horse returns here in a bid to win this race in successive seasons, he came here off a six month lay off last season and routed the field running out a 6 length winner rated 125. He won't have the soft conditions like last year, but he is more than assured on a sounder surface. The fact he comes here just 3lbs higher, with Sam Twiston-Davies taking over from Rex Dingle (the trainer's two most successful jockey's) I am allowing myself to be hopeful enough despite knowing how this game often plays out.

Quick Draw does have a very likeable profile, Henderson did send a winner to Cheltenham yesterday and the price is similar enough, I will however restrain from including a 5/2 shot, our price isn't great but all being well the place claims looks solid enough on a day where we hope to be rewarded for playing it safe.

WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?

A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:

– 1 fourfold accumulator

– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections

– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination

– 4 singles

The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
