Lucky 15 New Featured Image

Saturday's Lucky 15 looked to have gotten off to a good start, but Kildare Legend didn't manage to hold on and got beaten on the line.

The rest of the bet fell apart, the final selection was placed, whereas the two in between didn't manage to land blows in their races.

Advised bet: Each-way Lucky 15

Coto De Caza 4/1 EW (3pl) – Chantilly 1.40

Kind Of Blue will be a tough nut to crack if she returns to the track in the same form as last year as she is a Group 1 winner and handle soft ground, but with this being her first start of the season, if she's going to be beaten at this level, it will be today.

Coto De Caza was worth a shot whilst getting the allowances for being a three-year-old filly. She also has to prove she is ready for her first run out this season, but her odds are much more appealing, and there is a strong chance that she will be better this year as she progressed nicely throughout the season last year, putting in her best performances towards the end. She handles the ground, and she could be better suited to this 5f more than Kind Of Blue, who was running over 6f.

King Of Cities 10/1 EW (4pl) – Chantilly 3.05

I tipped up King Of Cities on his seasonal return at Newmarket just over a month ago, and considering he was friendless in the market, I thought he ran a belter, and I said on the back of that run that he will be better as the season progresses.

I am more than happy to take a chance on him in this French Derby and I do believe he can make the step up to the Group 1 level, as this race is a decent renewal, but it's not impossible to see him getting involved and being placed at the very minimum.

He looked in need of the run last time out, as the market suggested, but also the experience would have been nice to get under his belt as he is still a very lightly raced horse and you could tell in the final furlong that he is still a big raw baby. He has been put away since for today's race, and I do think he will enjoy the ground and step up in trip.

Soldier's Heart 4/1 EW (3pl) – Chantilly 3.50

Arabie arguably has the best form from last year, and he is a solid course winner as a juvenile, so he has to be respected, but I thought the value was with Soldier's Heart, who could improve with a winter season of maturing.

Simon & Ed Crisford's horse started to look like a smart prospect in the latter stages of last season when winning two on the bounce, with the final victory being won in fantastic fashion.

Soldier's Heart is a full brother to Elite Status, who improved from two to three last year, so if the same can be applied to this horse, he could be too good for this field.

Elegant Erin 11/2 EW (3pl) – Nottingham 4.00

I tipped up Nad Alshiba Green on her last run at Haydock a couple of weeks ago, and I was tempted going back in on her again today, but she was behind Elegant Erin with no real excuses, and with slower ground likely to suit Elegant Erin more, I thought she was worth the shot this time around.

Elegant Erin is a veteran but a solid horse. She has been consistent in her last two starts this year, and she is warming to her task. She was only beaten by a horse who was ridiculously strong in the market before the off last time out, so the form looks solid.
