The Antarctic was a game winner, but probably got lucky that the runner-up was away from him and didn't have a target to aim for. He is a full brother to Battaash but he won't be anywhere near as good based on that performance, even though he won.
Windsor 5:00 – Vespasian 2/1 (1pt Whill)
Monday appears to be your generic poor level of racing, with not much standing out as a potential worthwhile bet. My only play for Monday will be Vespasian whose form has been strongly boosted from the winner of his last contested race.
Vespasian was unlucky to bump into a Great State on his last run, as he would've run out a nice winner if he didn't bump into the well-handicapped Richard Fahey horse who has since won a listed race at York and recorded an RPR of 109 in the process. Richard Fahey came out after the race and said they felt he was very well-handicapped off a mark of 92, but felt like putting him in the Class 1 races, which has evidently paid off as he was an easy winner at Listed level and bagged 40k for connections in the process. Great State only beat Vespasian by 1.5L back at the start of this month at Thirsk, and I think that's a good effort and without a doubt the best piece of form in today's race.
Vespasian has to answer the question of whether he'll handle a quicker surface, but his pedigree suggests the faster ground will be fine for him. He is related to winners who were smart sprinters on fast ground, so everything points towards a big run. The Simon & Ed Crisford yard continues to be in good form, racking up 5 wins in the last 14 days from 22 runners (23% SR) and James Doyle is on board doing the steering, which is always a positive.

One I’ve picked today Celestial Force. Won off a mark of 120 previously today runs off a mark of 111. Last run should have it sharper as was coming off a long break 12t1 today for each way
