SAGE ADVICE (4.20) can transfer his hurdles form to the Flat by bagging the 1m 4f handicap at Catterick.
Dr Richard Newland's gelding was last seen running sixth to Jeff Kidder in the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham, fading on the climb to the line. Jeff Kidder came out to land a Grade 2 hurdle at Fairyhouse on Monday and ex-Irish Sage Advice could be well handicapped on the level.
Adam Nicol has done well with WISE EAGLE (2.50) since his transfer from Tom Clover and the dual Newcastle scorer can defy top weight in the 1m 6f handicap. He ran well over hurdles on his last visit to Catterick.
Mark Johnston's ANNANDALE (5.10) is worth a serious bet at Nottingham on the back of his neck defeat at the hands of Charlie Appleby's Tamborrada at Doncaster's Lincoln fixture. He races off the same mark and should prove too strong for Albert Camus.
Johnston brings back SIR RON PRIESTLY (4.10) from a 571-day absence in the Further Flight Stakes, a Listed event over 1m 6f. Sir Ron Priestley had won five of his six previous starts before chasing home Logician in the 2019 St Leger. Johnston rarely leaves his horses under-cooked and Sir Ron Priestley's class can see him master useful Ocean Wind, denied a four-timer by Rainbow Dreamer at Kempton in February. Throw in Roger Charlton's Win O'Clock and the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Laafy, and we have a cracking contest to savour.

Thai Terrior was a tip more in hope than expectation, not sure why we can’t all agree on that. i don’t even read what alan puts up so not salty one bit. calling it a blind guess is a bit OTT but hardly an outrageous comment, didn’t look likely to win on paper, i suspect he was put up based purely on MJs start to the season. it’s not like he is trying to give us a winner with each pick, he’ll operate points, if he perceives value, he can put it up knowing he should be ahead at the end of the year.. not ideal for day to day punters though is it. he sells his column to 4-5 places, he isn’t some tipper working tirelessly for us, he is not above scrutiny as johnb wasn’t. i rate AT, don’t have anything bad to say against him, calling one of his tips poor shouldn’t be an issue, all this does is encourage others to look at horses for themselves before parting with cash, which is a good thing.. and of course encourages a few dimwits to try and argue with me.
