Really looking forward to the Dewhurst but its a no bet race for me as the odds are too short. If i was to pick one it would have to be Air Force Blue as hes already a dual group 1 winner but Emotionless couldnt have been more impressive lto but it was a group 2 and will need to step up again but he may very well do so.

I was looking through the markets for this weeks Nfl Tips and noticed what I thought was a mistake on oddschecker

I was getting ready to have my life savings on under 29 but as I thought it was a mistake and the actual total was 20 :(

Last year I posted my NFL season Nap which was Seattle Seahawks to win their division and they did,

This season I haven’t posted one yet as I wanted to see the first few weeks, but now I have one and its strong in my opinion and at 9/4

    NFL Season Nap

    Nfc East Winner

NEW YORK GIANTS 9/4 Skybet William Hill Betway

They were tipped to have the worst defensive line this season but have proved their critics wrong,
The Giants currently sitting joint top at 2-2 but really it should have been 4-0 but for two 4th quarter howlers in the first two games

The Eagles are just simply worse than last season and can’t see them improving anytime soon

The Cowboys have got too many key injuries

The Redskins are just the Redskins and can never be backed

But the Giants are playing good football now which was seen in their last game and are overpriced at 9/4

    3:10 Newmarket – Dewhurst Stakes

One stat that goes against Emotionless is his lack of racecourse experience with only two runs to his name,
The last horse to win the Dewhurst with only two runs under their belt was Shamardal in 2004

Shamardal though just happens to be the Sire of Emotionless

Emotionless has already won at Newmarket but that was on the July course and today’s race is on the Rowley
But Emotionless was given a racecourse gallop on the Rowley and he handled it beautifully

Air Force Blue on his only previous visit to these shores saw him get beat
Also I am not convinced with Aiden O’Brien’s form at the moment, it’s getting better but it’s just not clicking for him just now

  33. Jimron12 3 years ago

Emotionless has joined my guinaes portfolio!

  34. Johnb 3 years ago

Jimron12 if Emotionless wins today then he gets cut to 15/8 or 2/1 for the guineas maybe less depending on how well he wins

  35. Dariusz 3 years ago

    Timeform comments:

Emotionless (5 out of 5 stars): Has looked potentially top class in 2 unbeaten starts, landing odds in Newmarket maiden before easily brushing aside Ibn Malik in Group 2 at Doncaster. Warrants the utmost respect.
    Form: 11
Race commetary: 7f. The 2 that dominate the market, EMOTIONLESS and Air Force Blue, set a very high standard. Air Force Blue has done little wrong for a trainer who has landed this race 3 times, including with War Command, another son of War Front. However, Emotionless has created a much deeper impression in 2 unbeaten starts, especially when cruising home in the Champagne Stakes, and he’s a confident selection.

Monsieur Gibraltar (5 out of 5 stars): Useful form in France and duly made winning debut for Paul Nicholls at Newton Abbot in April, looking a useful prospect. Trainer has good record in this race and appears to be on a good mark. Player.
    Form: P1P311-
Race commetary: 2m 11y. MONSIEUR GIBRALTAR was an easy winner of a Newton Abbot novice hurdle on debut for Paul Nicholls in April, and could be potentially well treated making his handicap hurdle debut, so he can enhance his yard’s good record in this race. Box Office, Tea In Transvaal and Dexcite all make appeal in a competitive handicap hurdle.

I’m assuming your view on emotionless must have changed considerably following that Johnb?

    • PeteT 3 years ago

Luke – my last comment is in moderation (so this may also take a while to post and may be irrelevant by the time you see it) but did you see the race? if so, any clues as to what went wrong? I live 50 miles from Newmarket and it’s been awful rain here last 24 hours – do you think it was the going or something more fundamental.

Everything I’ve read about Emotionless is really positive and encouraging so I’m just curious whether the horse had a bad day at the office or his colours are showing. Hopefully the former ….

Keen to hear your thoughts (or anyone elses who watched the match)

Nearly Caught…..from Hughie Morrison yard the 5yo is still looking for a win this season although he’s been unlucky in three of the 4 races he’s had with his last race he was out of frame at York 1m 6f Betfred Ebor (Heritage Handicap) good when finishing 11th of 19 runners with Pat Cosgrave in saddle, He was 6th in last season’s race off a mark of 99 from stall 20. He’s drawn closer to the inside in stall 6 this time round and 4lbs higher in the weights , the yard also bring Robert Havlin back into ride horse as he brought it home 3rd two races back at Newcastle John Smith’s Northumberland Plate (Heritage Handicap) .2m good off 102 ,

  85. Iceman 3 years ago

Johnb this is for u. I was all on emotionless today but u as a horse racing man and someone who knows what he’s talking about surely should of knew of all the money and all the hype over the coolmore horse ? The saying is money talks that’s why Iwhen I went to the bookies I seen all the money for the other horse and I backed against u johnb. I’m not being big headed but I think u will loll bk at this and think ouch I got that way wrong.

    • PeteT 3 years ago

Steady on Iceman. Whilst I haven’t seen the race John will have been confident on Emotionless. As I see it he went off at 5/6 ish versus Emotionaless which was around 6/4 ish. The horses dont know the prices they go off at and the favourite doesn’t always win.

Look at last weekend – Treve went off with loads of money but Golden Horn spanked it at 6/1.

It’s been a bad day at the office and we all hurt but John’s system underlyingly works and that’s all that matters.

Also, it’s easy to be wise after the event. If Emotionless had won everyone would say he was a genius! Fine line between being a hero or villain in this tipping lark!

  86. Alanm 3 years ago

Postman/Boz well done guys great tipping.

  87. Alanm 3 years ago

Iceman and the rest of the guys giving off if we all backed horses backed off the boards we would all be skint it’s finding value in a horse some win some lose but the main point is staying ahead of the bookie.

    Onwards and upwards.

  88. Luke A 3 years ago

I live within 40 miles of Newmarket. I’m unsure and undecided on what I think of emotionless following that run, which is why I’d like to hear John’s thoughts. The run was so bad, I find it hard to accept it was true. Something can’t have been right. That said, Air Force Blue looks rather special. So even with a true run, Emotionless might not have got near him anyways

    • PeteT 3 years ago

Cheers Luke. Interesting comments about Air Force Blue – as you say, sounds like a special horse. I know that John wasn’t sure if Aiden O Brien’s was quite getting it at the moment but it sounds like Emotionless had a stinker too. I’m looking forward to John’s honest appraisal on this one as one bad run doesn’t make a bad horse. Will make a point of watching the run later on when I get home too.

  89. Wato 3 years ago

Some people feel the need to jump on a losing tip which is easy to say after a loss or a bad run but I don’t see any comments when they win which if you look at the yearly stats quite a few have. Just wise up and accept a losing tip or bet and if you think they are so bad then pick your own for follow someone else. Great thread this ruined by a select few at times

  90. Tom 3 years ago

Remember this was only Emotionless’ third run and first race against group 1 horses. He will learn a lot from this run. Now out to 25/1 for the guineas

  91. JasonThomson 3 years ago

    william of orange 15:50

  92. Iceman 3 years ago

Like I agree something must have been wrong with the horse. Ow I get annoyed with the Brady butch from coolmore saying it’s the best horse they have ever had. Iv heard that a few times now. At the end of the day I’m still following johnb I was just asking a question.

  93. Luke A 3 years ago

The problem is Tom, not only will Emotionless need to learn a lot from today, but he will need Air Force Blue to go massively backwards, and/or Emotionless to improve mass amounts, to be able to turn the tables in the guineas. Johnb obviously held (maybe still holds) Emotionless in very high regard. So maybe that 25/1 will look awesome in 6 or 7 months time

    • Tom 3 years ago

Only time will tell, but if I had to back AFB or Emotionless now for next year, I’d probably take the gamble on Emotionless improving at those odds

  94. Buzz 3 years ago

It really doesn’t bother me when Johnb gets slated for a losing tip because the man is pure genius and he always comes back strong with massive wins. Stick with his level staking plan and at the end of the 12 months you’ll be in profit. It’s about long term gain which many people completely forget about. Structure as in business is the key.

  95. JasonThomson 3 years ago

    william of orange 15:50

  96. Iceman 3 years ago

Haha look I’m just looking for answers on all the hype for the coolmore horse. I always back johnb horses. I have been very rich and very poor. And rich wins all the time but all I’m saying is today he came second.

  97. Luke A 3 years ago

Wato, plenty of people praise Johnb when he hits winners. So long as people aren’t being malicious or making snipes, I don’t see the issue with negative comments when there are losers. It works both ways. However, those individuals that only comment on losers and never on winners, they shouldn’t voice their opinions at all

  98. Iceman 3 years ago

Luke I’m not sniping I’m making a fact. Money talks and when. Coolmore come out and say it’s the best 2 year old they have ever had.

  99. Paul Durcan 3 years ago

I agree with you luke it does work both ways take the criticism with the praise, those who just comment on losers are the kind of people that just moan there way through life.

  100. Wato 3 years ago

Luke yes agree with you there but unfortunately there are. L1’s comment for example he points out a losing nfl tip last week but I seem to remember johnb posting 3 or 4 winning naps in a row before that but of course they just don’t seem to matter to some people it’s only when he loses comments like that come out. Anyway not going to clog up the thread any further cause other guys post excellent tips on here so let’s get back to that.

    • PeteT 3 years ago

Wato – as someone once said to me : some people have a problem for every solution. The same people moan when tips lose and forget when tips win!

  101. Iceman 3 years ago

Lol u guys make me giggle really do. Let’s get one thing straight johnb is an incredible tipster and I will always follow him. But I like it when people admit they got that one wrong no ?

    • PeteT 3 years ago

Iceman. I don’t doubt John will admit he got that one wrong – afterall it lost! :)

Tough day today – what we need is a nice winning double tomorrow to bring us back in the black and resume some october cheer :)

      No pressure! ;)

  102. Iceman 3 years ago

PeteT thanks. Like u say bad day for me aswell. The coolmore horse was my only winner and I got that at 4/5 lol so not much of a winner.

  103. Yovan 3 years ago

What bothers me is that Emotionless was never Nap material, in what at the best was 50-50 race, let alone double stake Nap. Was that the best 11/8 shot today?

  104. Duncan Poundcake 3 years ago

    Tommy 400 well done

  105. L1 3 years ago

I don’t care about the losers, and haven’t bet on any of his NFL picks. The thing I don’t like is the mostly unwarranted confidence in some picks (like saying you think something will win by a big margin) which can make people want to put much more on a bet than they should. I know he is good but dislike the way he says stuff sometimes. Yes he did win 4 in a row but in those weeks the second bets were sometimes losers and seeing as he doesn’t put more on his best bet it means you in fact lose a small amount and yet it is only pointed out 4 best bets in a row won.

  106. Martin k 3 years ago

Agree wato, L1 john B always preaches level stakes, if someone decided to put more on that’s there problem as to make a profit with John b’s tips u need to stick to level stakes.
