Rizz was unable follow up on Sunday after a decent day at the office on Saturday.
His eachway selection was held up towards the rear throughout the contest and was never involved. His other selection Record High looked the most likely winner, travelling well under jockey Sean Bowen. A poor jump at the last sealed it's chances as the eventually winner drew clear having already had a length or so advantage before jumping the last obstacle.
Cairnzy's Tips
Dunhallow Tommy 13/8 – Hereford 2.30
My first selection on Monday comes from the jumps meeting at Hereford in the shape of the Toby Lawes trained Dunhallow Tommy.
We only have four runners in this lineup but I think Dunhallow Tommy and the reopposing Rath Gaul Hill are the two horses we have to concentrate on. My selection has did well since switching to chasing last year, rattling of a quick hat trick of wins which all came at Plumpton. Dunhallow Tommy was unable to land the four timer at Newbury when having to play second fiddle to Rath Gaul Hill.
Rath Gaul Hill was able to follow up next time out and arrives here in search of the hat trick although it will be a tough ask given he is now 10lb worse off and also has question marks on his head regarding race fitness having not raced since April of last year. My selection has already had two starts this campaign, both of which were good efforts, finishing third on seasonal reappearance at Fontwell then following up with a better effort at Windsor to finish second behind the Jonjo O'Neil-trained Hasthing who has since boosted the form when following up 12 days ago at Windsor.
Fantastikas 6/1 – Plumpton 3.50
My second selection has drifted from 9/2 out to 6/1 in the time it's taken me to type things up, but I'll stick to my gut and roll the dice with the veteran that is Fantastikas.
I have to admit, it is a tad concerning that this horse hasn't won in three years and normally that would be enough to put you off completely but this horse is down to a mark of 119 which is a whopping 21lb lower when last winning at Lingfield back in 2022. My selection has done most of his racing in much higher grades than this and I think he is worth chancing now dropping into a Class 4 and that's even before mentioning jockey Toby McCain-Mitchell who although still learning his trade, is well worth his 7lb claim.
Fantastikas made his seasonal reappearance last month when staying on well to finish third Uttoxeter. He was unable to build on that next time out when finishing a well beaten fourth at Haydock. The Haydock contest wasn't a bad race for the grade but I think a repeat performance of his Uttoexeter effort could see him bang there in this grade and 6/1 seems a fair enough price to get involved in.
