IT was a double dose of bad luck on Wednesday as both tips faltered in the closing stages.
The nap Pinkneys Prince was cruising it until falling on the third last fence. And NB Bally Sands was leading on the home straight until bizarrely taking the wrong course and ending up third.
On to Thursday and JohnB believes he has a strong selection with the joint nap/NB.
Knockyoursocksoff 6-1 NAP/NB BetVictor
Joint Nap/Nb so double stake. Odds have already shortened from 8-1 so don't wait for this one.
“I think this horse will do exactly as his name says and knock your socks off with his run on Thursday.
“Knockyoursocksoff is a point winner in Ireland, he went hurdling but to be honest he was never going to be a hurdler. He is bred to be a chaser and we need to have this horse on handicap debut on what is a ridiculously low handicap mark of 85.
“Knockyoursocksoff has raced four times over hurdles and been beaten 210 lengths and that was only for three races because he has also been pulled up in another race but as I said this horse is a chaser not a hurdler.
“Trained by Gary Moore he knows Thursday is the day because he has pitched this horse straight into a chase race on handicap debut. He gets weight all round and gets a mountain of weight.
“Gary Moore knows his chasers and I know handicap marks and I think he knows just like me that this horse is thrown in here. I am sorry I can't talk about form because this horse doesn't have any but if anyone remembers I had a similar tip before Christmas with a horse that had no form and I advised double stake at 12-1.
“As you all know i love sticking my neck out.”
