MONDAY'S nap was another non-runner and JohnB started the day with a 1.5 point profit.

There were two points staked with no return as the NB – advised at 10-1 – could only manage third. So January now shows a 0.5 point loss.

“This is a well bred horse who is a half brother to the smart five-year-old Godolphin horse Ahzeemah and also Tiger Roll who won the Triumph hurdle.

“The breeding also says that running at Southwell won't be a problem. Again like a lot of my tips the potential form of this horse has to be taken on trust but on a lowly handicap mark he won't have to do too much to win here.”

Good luck everyone and post your tips and chat here.

  13. double carpet 4 years ago

    Morning all

Already mentioned that TONY MARTIN has 2 runners at BANGOR and of the 2 have backed HEATHFIELD but theres also other irish raiders that i wonder why they have travelled.
At SOUTHWELL theres RANDALS REBECCA 3.20 and RANDALS ALLANAH 3.50.It must have cost a few quid to bring them over and the form is nothing to write home about and the latter hasnt run since OCT 13. I just dont get that one. Why not just run them at DUNDALK ? So i suggest a market check on them 2.
Then finally theres MEGAMIKE SEDGEFIELD 1.30 whose only had the one run under rules but did win a point to point and i do like the look of him currently 7/1 8 runners so will have an ew on that one. There are others i fancy but im going to wait till course markets open then see.

    Best of luck to all

DC, I will most definitely pass your advice on in regards to my friend who plays darts. Always good to hear advice from those who have had similar experience. I was talking to Blayyers on coach last night, and we came to conclusion you must have been a snooker player, as that’s a sport you can quite closely relate to darts. Thanks again for your comments, much appreciated. All the best for today

Dougie am on the kung hei choy it looks a likely winner wot do u recommend fir the f/c a doubled it wi kalimantan now a nr so al stick in johnbs nap fir the revised dbl good luck ti everyone today akin feel a good day ktf

  28. PodTheRod 4 years ago

Markytee by that reasoning it is probably Izzini because that race has the largest prize money? I had backed Kalimantan in the 2.30 race but now it is a NR and Izzini is favourite.
Legacy Phoenix is also Fave in the last with a good chance and Knocklayde Sno Cat is Lynch’s first ride currently second favourite so all 3 seem to have a fair chance, I don’t know how much to read into it. Cheers.

  29. Shogun 4 years ago

My two for today plus on both of Johnb’s

    Sedgefield 1.30 – Knocklayde Express 1/1 (NAP)

    Bangor 1.40 – Relic Rock 4/5 (NB)

  30. Luke A 4 years ago

Rale, I’d say Rock of Ages or generous dream. However, the former has been backed in from 11/2 to 3/1 whilst the latter has drifted from 11/2 to 8/1. So if you like to follow the market, I’d suggest Rock of Ages

I didn’t see any racing at all yesterday unfortunately Jimba. I had zero signal the whole time we were there. I noticed it won, which I was glad for you it did. I didn’t gain anything from it myself, as I had it as part of a treble that was already down. I would have placed a single to recoup losses had I have been able to get on the Internet though. Happy it won nonetheless. Good luck for today mate

  42. Napper valley 4 years ago

Nice to see some got on that one and it drifted as well. As much as I trust my own picks it’s good to see a class act like boz endorsing it as well.

I liked the fact it ran well on its return at this venue so figured they liked its chances returning it over C&D, dropped in class and 1lb less. Seemed to work but I will admit that at half way I thought it was a money wasted.

Makes up for the 3 duffs on Sunday.

Did you watch Brian Dawson yesturday
he plays for my local & won 3-0

  45. Rale 4 years ago

Cheers LukeA, but unfortunately went for Yasir.

  46. Luke A 4 years ago

Thanks Johnb, I’m really hoping he uses yesterday’s disappointment as a great experience and learning curve in the long run. Which sport was it you used to participate in if you don’t mind me asking?
I’m guessing that was an evening match? There were only 3 afternoon matches. The second one was won by a swedish player, swajani I think his name was. Played very well and knocked out number 1 seed. He’s still available at 50/1. And I can think of several much worse 50/1 shots out there.
Good luck to Brian Dawson. Strange watching someone you know on stage isn’t it.

Rale, I didn’t back it either (shock) lol

  107. JP 4 years ago

boz/gents – when you say “study form” how do you mean exactly?

When there are 15, 20, 30 races a day sometimes, how on earth do you find the gems in the middle of all that?? I dont think i have time to study it all every day unfort :)

  108. dougiec 4 years ago

Just a heads up lads GOOJ,looking at NEW RICH 19.10 Kempton 9/2 with for some reason G Baker, replacing JP Fahy..worth a look.Tea time!!!

  109. Rale 4 years ago

Mav, unless you backed every tip on here (only Dougie had 2/2 winners) it is very unlikely that you would have profitable day. JB no winner, Bus no winner, Boz 1/3, and so on. Yes there were some nice individual winners, but picking them out of so many tips is mission impossible.

  110. Kris 4 years ago

Rale I’ve been trying to follow 2/3 of the same guys on here and today it worked a treat. I will continue to use this method for the time being and avoid the tempation of going for every tip posted.

I had a Dougie C double and singles – which got a nice profit.

I had even stakes on Boz’s 3 which left me with profit too.

    I was also on DC’s.

Sticking with the 3 above (sometimes if Boz not around I’ll follow busstop or one other tipster) I’ve had more happy days than not of late.

JB was brilliant during the Xmas period but I’ve given his tips a wee break for now – hope that helps ?

  111. Duncan Poundcake 4 years ago

Had a bit of a rant yesterday about trainers, this is for anyone who followed me on Wilde Pastures speciallyyou Dougie
    From the stable
Unex Canaletto ran well after a long break in 4th, Wilde Pastures we are working on reducing his Handicap Mark for a Chase at the end of the month but ran well enough in 4th, Gilnockie ran another good race in 3rd and the form was better than the last race and stepped up in trip he will be winning. The Bumper horses, all horses that we have sourced and broken in and brought on carefully from youngsters ran creditably in 2nd’3rd and 4th.

  112. Hamish75 4 years ago

Duncan give us the heads up wen the horses come out again wis a good day wi the usual suspects doin there stuff also early winners which meant a had a day bettin wi the bookies money had a good bet wi smurfs dbl a good single wi kung hoy choy well done ti everybody fir your time n effort ktf

Yeah Dougie that’s what made me question my initial choice. Kirby, draw and weights make me question my first instinct. Hmmmmmm. Not sure.

  124. Rale 4 years ago

Kris I agree with you. Unless your bank alow you to back every single tip here, you can’t go wrong if you follow certain people, Dougie surely being one. His double and Gen. Tufto single pulled me out of gutter today. Trying to follow to many ppl is road to disaster. That is my problem.

  125. Michael 4 years ago

Boz, Thanks for the tips today, I bet 4 singles and 2 Dbls, had a 11/2 winner on each line. Not big profit but if both where together I would be laughing all the way to the bookies. Keep then coming mate.

  126. double carpet 4 years ago

    Rale
    Hope this helps.
ive been on this site daily for about 6 months now if not a bit longer and if theres one thing i have learnt its to pick your own selections based on your research and pocket. Other rules i have learnt is if its 5s or better to back ew unless i am super confident. So if you were going to stick 10 on a horse at 5s or bigger then do 5ew instead. At least if its placed you get your money back. The last thing i always check is what papa smurf is up to and 9 times out of 10 will back them as the guy is simply awesome. For example today i didnt have a winner but i backed both of dougies with 2 singles and a double which gave me profit for the day in the end. But i dont back them blind i study what hes chosen then decide if i think they have a chance (they usually do have a chance) !! I also have the same approach to johns tips. I dont follow anyone else but always wish them well and i dont expect to be followed either i just really enjoy putting up selections in the hope of getting some winners and if someone has followed me and won then thats even better.
And you are so right when you say trying to follow too many leads to disaster.

hope i typed it in a way that it made sense and hope this helps.

Donny, why does Plover look a good ew mate? Interested to hear your reasons as im always looking to learn

Sorry jp was driving. It looks a good Ew bet to me because the horse ridden by a light jockey which takes 5lbs off and it’s over 1mile which is better suited to the horse and has won on poly track before.
