daily racing tips 3

Thursday's selections returned a small profit after both horses were placed.

East Hampton was much shorter odds than advised. Most of that was due to the favourite being a non-runner very early into the day. I thought he had a great chance entering the final two furlongs, but his efforts weakened. Copacabbana Sands was the winner, which wasn't ideal as she was a previous winning tip.

Arnaz ran his usual race at Newbury. The race was run to suit, and he was consistent as usual, but found a few too good for him. He is going to be a cliff horse for many, and will likely pop up when you least expect him.

Burrito 9/4 (1pt) – York 4.10

With yesterday's selection being beaten by a previous winning tip, it wouldn't surprise me if it happened in this race as well. I tipped up Sovereign Sea at Newbury in a Class 3 handicap at big odds, but he was beaten into second place by Burrito. Even though the weights are in favour of Sovereign Sea, I like the way Burrito won.

Burrito has gone up 10lbs for the recent win, and despite his winning margin not being the greatest, he looked like a smart horse. He is still an extremely unexposed horse with just three runs, so it wasn't a surprise to see him being green last time out. He was definitely worth more than the winning margin suggests. When he got to the front he looked like he was idling and was only doing enough to hold off the runner-up. This isn't ideal in races like this against hardy handicapers, but it leaves the question of how far can he progress.

This race looks like it could run to suit him again. The runner-up from last race like to front run, as does Liberty Coach. If they go at each other and force a strong pace, it will play into the hands of Burrito once again.

It won't be an easy task for my selection, but I firmly believe he can shoulder the rise in the weights. If he can win this in good fashion they will likely head towards Class 1 races in the near future.

Kind Of Kiss 4/1 (1pt) – Sandown 3.15

I am praying that the form of the previous selection is correct as my other selection of the day also appeared in the Newbury race.

Kind Of Kiss was fourth behind Burrito last time out, and that was the third consecutive run where he has run well off a mark of 88. Today's race looks marginally easier, so despite him not being a winner off this mark previously, today will be easier for him to get his head in front.

If he takes a bad turn in the market I don't think it's anything to worry about. He has run well from odds of 16/1 and 80/1 this season, and didn't manage to win when 4/1F.

Hopefully, Daniel Muscutt can get him settled at the rear of the field and can produce him late up the Sandown Hill when those ahead of him are treading water.
